An opinion: I’m disappointed with the sky tower and rayquaza battle theme in the rescue DX game because I... cannot unhear the annoying bell chime in it. It actually hurts my ears listening to it which saddens me.

That’s it. The great dragon was NOT going to take that from a flying alien virus, and the legend knew exactly what he was going to do. Following his instincts, the sky dragon reared his head back. An array of yellow energy crackles around the dragon’s teeth.

Then-

“YOU HAVE MET YOUR MATCH, INTRUDER!”

A sudden wave of energy rips from Rayquaza’s maw-!

#Whirlwinds of Glory [Music]

In the Midst of the Fever

Many weeks (Days? Months? It was hard to tell) had passed since the land had been scorched alive by the glare of the sun. By now, the environment had already begun to transform into something akin to a wasteland. Plants and trees that had used to flourish upon Hoenn’s soils were now long since dried up and deprived of fresh water and nutrients.

Even within the caves, such as Meteor Falls, the interior of its cavities were dried up of moisture. No waterfalls even gave so much as a trickle, and the pokemon population- those that had survived the cataclysm, were all but hiding deep under the ground and far into the Falls’ depths.

During a devastating earthquake that had erupted from the central point of Meteor falls, a crevice had ripped open. Almost as if something massive had fallen from the sky, causing the earth to crack open like a giant maw.

Investigations were dangerous to proceed downward into the dark depths without a light. Although... if Steven were to look closer from the edge of the crevice... he would see the faint glow of multi-ring-like patterns.

Deep below the earth...

The Rayquaza laid in a twisted mess. Stuck in between the stones, puncturing the dragon like knives. Rock had long since crackled off from around it, but it’s apparent that the dragon was also fairly weakened.

What could a trainer do in a situation such as this. Where the region was up in flames, and the supposed dragon of legend had laid down in defeat?

Inevitable Drought

Tremendous amounts of heat suddenly shot into the sky like a doomsday beacon, warranting all kinds of attention of what was to come. The sky, once pure blue and beautiful, suddenly became a horrendous yellow. A solar storm like no other literally burned through the atmosphere, eliminating majority of the oxygen from above that even bird pokemon began choking on the thinned hot air from above.

It was only a matter of time before the land below began to wither in distress and terrible decay of caked dry dirt. Water, once cool and filled with life, was now a torture chamber of boiling alive anything that did so much as touch its surface.

Nothing could possibly survive the terrible drought that begun to spread all throughout Hoenn. No escape could be made, as majority of the regions remained locked and closed off from the dying home of waterfalls and berries.

Nor rich, nor poor, would be able to escape the heat’s harsh grasp. Not a human, not a pokemon, and especially, not a legendary.

The sky had blistered alive, summoning a terrible and earth shattering roar when the divine legend of the winds had begun its descend to the ground at a frightening pace akin to a freight train. The earth shook with power as the dragon of the skies came tumbling down, further and further from the skies it had once ruled. Dethroned from its very domain.

Scales charred black from the burns inflicted upon it from the solar storm’s combination of heat and radiation, the dragon found its home- the ozone layer, deteriorating. Without it, the dragon’s power had diminished significantly. Its charred body coiling coil after writhing coil before, soon, tumbling into the ground with a massive earthquake.

Even the Ruler of the Skies was no match for the ravaging heat wave.

“Something tells me that you take them without them knowing.” A smart move. Even with being a legend, it didn’t mean that they all had to play fair on the matter at hand.

The dragon’s form floats above the guardian’s as he peers at the tiny tray of beans. Weird, humans and pokemon alike go absolutely nuts over these beans. He himself did not truly understand it, but... perhaps...

“...Fine, but just this once. Do not tell your little friends about this either, guardian.” The dragon snarls slightly, although he dips his maw and intakes the chocolate covered beans with ease with a swipe of his maw.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Gulp-!

Oh... what was that he was feeling? It felt strange.

As if he were filled with more than beans. Happiness? What was that?

“What is that? No, not what the food is, what is that? This food is doing something to me and I can’t decide if I like it or not.”

Ok, maybe he liked it. A lot. It’s delicious, ok, he really wants more, Koko.
