Itās here, and itās lovely, and thereās a small Silas imprinted on the cover.
āI love you wholly. I love you eternally. I love you so dearly it frightens me. I fear I could not live without you. I could see your face every morning upon waking for ten thousand years and still look forward to the next as though it were the first.ā
- An Enchantment of Ravens, Margaret Rogerson
I'm like 1/3 through "An Enchantment of Ravens".
Why the hell do people not talk about this book?!?!
It's beautiful and I love it!
There's fae, and it has a focus on the autumn court, which rarely ever gets much attention in other faerie books.
The protagonist is rather likable, the love interest is seggsy and has personality, the story/plot is quite unique, and the book is just so aesthetic!
From what I've read so far this book is definite 5 stars

I don't see my opinion changing any time soon, it's just so gripping, I can't stop reading it >.<

Ā Ā Ā Ā āBut isnāt absurdity part of being human? We arenāt ageless creatures who watch centuries pass from afar. Our worlds are small, our lives are short, and we can only bleed a little before we fall.ā

āYou are empty,ā I said, my throat working, āand cruel.ā āAh. Yes, now that is true. Would you like to know the greatest secret of fairykind?ā When I didnāt answer he continued, āWe prefer to pretend otherwise, but truly, we have never been the immortal ones. We may live long enough to see the world change, but weāre never the ones who changed it. When we finally reach the end, we are unloved and alone, and leave nothing behind, not even our name chiseled on a stone slab. And yetāmortals, through their works, their Craft, are remembered forever.ā He turned us gracefully through the crowd without missing a step. āOh, you cannot imagine the power your kind holds over us. How very much we envy you. There is more life in your littlest fingernail than in everyone in my court combined.ā

One raven for uncertain peril. Six for danger sure to arrive. A dozen for death, if not avoided. The enchantment is sealed.

I quite like eggs,ā I replied firmly, well aware that the enchantments he described would all turn strange and sour, even deadly, in the end. Besides, what on earth would I do with menās hearts? I couldnāt make an omelette out of them.

I hope the imagery I employed for Rathaniel pleases its vanity.

starting this book on an evening that I stayed home instead of going to the party I was invited to twice, the irony is unmatched
clown moment is me (aroace) reading vespertine and relating so hard to artemisiaās view on romance and her struggles with it and straight up. not realising sheās aroace for months
The Revenant: For hell's sake, your body needs REST and FOOD, just EAT this BREAD
Artemisia: Lol no
