⚹ skates on gravel · what’s your favourite summer activity that makes you feel alive? is it a tradition? is it solitary or not? if not, who’s involved?
does spending a better part of 10 hours a day at the blackmore library count as an activity? the air-conditioning there is my saviour. genuinely. i hate hate hate the sun & the heat, even if it isn’t as bad as summer here (global warming doesn’t exist there). it’s not a tradition, per se, but it sure is a routine ethan & i fall in tandem to!

out of all of us in the group, chad adores summer the most. of course he does. it’s literally the best time to party pretty much anywhere—the beach, a boat, a frat house, outdoors.
his [better, clearly more sound-minded /j] twin, mindy, however, does not. we both complain about the heat the most, do not bring us on any kind of summer activity unless you can handle the constant complaining. mostly from me, because mindy’s a little bit more mature than i am.
speaking of complaining, sam isn’t such a big fan, either, but she’s more mature than the whole group. she’ll be the one actively but subtly reminding the girls (especially tara) to bring water bottles, fans, whatever. she could care less about ethan & chad boiling in the heat. duh.
tara’s somewhat neutral about it. she can see the good & the bad in summer. she’s pretty adaptable, she’d be down to go on a summer trip & be pretty excited about it. she makes me hate summers a little less (but don’t tell her that).
quinn loves summer, too. i’d say she rivals chad on that. she’s the party girl. i dread being dragged to parties, let alone summer/beach ones. but it’s quinn, what can i do? she’s always finding a way to have fun in everything, & her insistence on inviting all of us infects me with it. she’s the one who’s helped me out of my shell the most during college.
anika prefers the cold, like me, but like tara, she doesn’t really mind either way. also !! she makes the best summer drinks, so i really can’t complain. she knows how to get our group to liven up, even in the sweltering heat.
last but never the least, ethan is not a fan of summer. but he’s not one to complain, unlike me. he just deals with it, & plus, he’s too busy making sure i’m hydrated to worry about himself. (but i’m also too busy fussing over his curls sticking to his face & that they might be a bother to him, too.) either way, he can stick it out for summertime, but you’d mostly find him indoors or blasting a mini fan.
