IC Breweries? Traders of drink?

I am getting up to shenanigans, and as a touch of flair for that I’m trying to figure out of there’s anyone out there who maybe has an IC brewery on the go, or someone whose character has a reputation for trading drinks (especially alcohol) who wouldn’t mind being recommended through word of mouth and scribbles. It may end up landing your character/your character’s business with some new costumers. Give me a prod if interested!

Draffthouse Barons have a front company; Cloud Marble Brewing Company currently being handled by Tai @bad-decision-roulette. They’ve got a few different rums and Tai’s been working on a new wine. The group is morally gray, being a front company for a gang and all, but the rum is pretty damn good.

Looking for RP contacts

So my character East, @thebadohteco, is a drug maker currently selling his products on parts of Thanalan thanks to the @draffthouse-barons gang of awesome. He’s recently got a shipping deal with another person to allow him to distribute his wares in Gridania and Limsa as well.

So before I slap some PCs in Limsa and Gridania that do the sales for me, I wanted to see if there’s any drug dealer RPers in those areas that would be interested in taking the role on. So that East and them could meet, set prices, agree on shares, etc.

Carlos (East) is amazing. His take on mind-altering products is really unique and interesting, reaching far beyond your usual Somnus and Fogweed (Try the frogs, seriously). The character is a lot of fun to harass as well.

10/10 Best Drug Dealer; definitely hire him for all your sketchy substance needs.

Managed, after several blunders, to find my way into the cave Sae had summoned me to. I was surprised to be greeted at the entrance by no less than four toughs. When I explained who I was looking for they sent me inside. Whatever I expected, I was not prepared to find a major bazaar nestled within the darkness. 

Sae and Nonope were selling the various oddments we’d sampled in our first group meeting as well as - and this thrills me to no end - my rum! Barrels of it! Bottles of it! I never expected this rush of pride at my own creations being so happily sold!

Though my debt has been cleared by Master Faust, I really feel as though staying to help Sae’s operation become legitimate would be a good thing. 

Of course the day was rather soured by him falling and releasing a crate of those hallucinogenic frogs, but I can’t help but feel elated nonetheless.

Black Lotus Black Market Event: now open to outside vendors

Rumour has spread in the streets of Mor Dhona of the return of the Black Lotus, a crime syndicate known throughout Othard. The Doman merchants spin tales of this clandestine organisation that existed in Othard for countless ages, working in the underbelly of organised crime, providing services to whoever would provide the highest price. Extortion, money laundering, smuggling, assassination and black market trading are amongst the list of services the Black Lotus provided to the public. The Black Lotus will do almost anything criminal for the right price.  

Due to ongoing interest, The Black Lotus is having its first open trade Black Market. Vendors who trade in more “illegal” items are encouraged to attend this event and hawk their wares.  Unlike our previous markets, this event will be taking part in an open world location, in Central Thanalan. This event is spread via word of mouth within criminal circles. The advertisement is ooc.

Where: Central Thanalan, The Caves outside of Lost Hope, Pos 27, 14. Balmung server. When: Saturday the 4th of February, 2017 8 p.m EST til Midnight.

Star Shards and Spriggans – 01/06

The Draffthouse Barons received their first job of the new year courtesy of an Ossuary contact and regular co-conspirator; Lux Lunseer. According to Lux a meteorite had broken up and scattered pieces of aetherically-active crystal in the Central Shroud. She explained how to find the shards and what to do once they had been found but she didn’t explain why it was she didn’t just go gather them up herself…

 The shards were affecting the local wildlife, namely Spriggans. These normally docile creatures were aggressive towards group but smaller groups of one to two didn’t seem to incur their wrath. After being bum-rushed by soot sprites the Barons decided it would be best to venture into the impact crater in pairs. They would search the area while Lux pinged aether off of the meteorite and relayed the sound to let them know if they were hot or cold on the trail. The sound of pinging aether sounded suspiciously like chocobo kweh’s.

 First to hunt was Shane, who found the star shard guarded by a Spriggan who didn’t want to just hand it over. Rather than fight for it Shane quickly hurried off to find an appropriate replacement and the two traded crystals, resolving the issue without having to draw a weapon.

 Next up went Nonope. Her shard was clutched tightly in the twiggy little claws of a Spriggan who wailed miserably at all who approached it. After some careful investigation Nonope determined that it was lonely. Rather than take the Spriggan’s sole possession Nonope offered a trade of a thaumaturgy focus and her friendship. Overjoyed, the Spriggan immediately followed Nonope and was soon brought into the gang as Yesyes Yes.

 The final shard was sought by Nananomi, Nonope’s brother. As we were beginning to suspect his shard was also guarded by a Spriggan who seemed more interested in wooing the lalafel than trading trinkets. It was interested in a friendship of a /different/ kind. It performed a beautiful mating dance, much to Nananomi’s horror. The lalafell had no choice but to dance in return, performing the Manderville flawlessly. Struck by the beauty of Nomi’s dance the Spriggan offered the shard as a sign of their engagement and Nananomi set a land-speed record sprinting right the hells out of that cavern. He spent the rest of the evening staring into the Void and rocking slowly back and forth.

The mission was a success, with four shards successfully recovered [though only three were turned in for the rewards] and no casualties were suffered. Save for Nananomi’s mental health.

As such! We're gonna do a little Luck Calling. Maybe you've heard of the far eastern traditions with lucky bamboo and paper wishes? It's kind of like that... but probably with more explosions. [We can’t seem to do anything without explosions.]

 For the ritual you’ll only need to bring yourself and a trinket. The trinket itself shouldn’t be of much value but it should represent something larger than itself. A hope, a wish, a desire. Any of that sappy shite.

Sae called us to some tavern in the Lavender Beds. Thankfully my apartment wasn’t far and so I sneaked out while my solvents were brewing. He was offering work but it was in Coerthas; a place where I’ve seen more unluck than a black coeurl stuffed with broken mirrors. As much as I hate to turn down steady work I had to make my excuses and leave but I almost stayed.

The bar had a thaumaturge who lended her talents to her trade by igniting cinnamon and alcohol to create amazing cocktails. If for no other reason I could see myself returning there again soon.

Today Sae called us to his office. There was this network, he said, of less reputable people who were willing to help with my condition. But by ‘help’ he of course meant ‘use me as a lab rat’. We were introduced to a girl who went by the handle of “Remedy” and she took my measure, telling me she might have an answer within a day.

I pray to Oschon she is able to help.

Well, I own a brewery.

I can’t believe it. Sae just… handed over the keys to the office and gave Ath and myself full control. We are now the minds behind Cloud Marble Brewery. Can you believe that?

Now with the new stills working and the first batch of Starlight Special spiced rum in production it looks like this venture might finally turn over a few gil.

I’m sure my debtors would be pleased to hear that too.

- 8pm EST - Ebonguard LS’s Starlight Party - Goblet Ward 7 Plot 13

"Bring your own booze, bring your own drugs, etc -- just keep the clothes on because we are a Classy Bunch.” - Direct Quote. Several of you are already in Ebonguard; a loose network of morally gray characters, doors are open for those who aren’t as well so long as you know someone who knows someone... which you do. Social get together sort of thing, nothing heavy planned. Make some new friends.

- 8pm EST - The Golden Gala - Ul’dah, Steps of Thal, The Gold Court - MORE INFO HERE

This is a formal event. Dust off the tuxes, comb your hair, shave [you know who you are] and show up looking your best. Suggested attire is Purple, Gold or Black but so long as it’s got class it’s got a pass. This is part two of the ‘Pretending to be Good Citizens’ mission Sae passed out on Friday.
