Year’s End Festival 6 (part 5 — in response to x)
There was an almost painfully silent period where the fireworks had faded away in preparation for the next set just as Damian finished talking. Damian worried about whether he had offended Sedanas with his question. Finally, the reply came:

Year’s End Festival 6 (part 4 — in response to x)
Damian found himself leaning on the banister of the balcony a couple moments after leaving the stairwell, staring up at the bright colours that shot into the sky and exploded. Although it hurt his eyes a little to watch directly, the sight enraptured him.
Year’s End Festival 6 (part 3 — in response to x)
Damian breathed out in relief as Sedanas didn’t seem to mind too much about losing his glove. It didn’t seem that he wanted to see the fireworks, though it probably would have been a bad idea.
Year’s End Festival 6 (part 2 — in response to x)
It wasn’t long before Damian confirmed that Sedanas had indeed made it back into his body safely. Shortly after, the man on the giant’s shoulders also woke up. Relieved, he watched as Sedanas seemed to flounder for a bit, as if searching for something.
“Pardon, but um…do you know what you did to my glove?"
Oh. For a moment Damian looked lost, and he glanced back towards the place he had been stricken ill by Sedanas’ curse. Maybe he had dropped it over there? He walked back, scanning the blue floor, looking under the table, and even pushing aside some dishes of food on the table for any trace of dark gray. The glove wasn’t there, of course—it had mysteriously disappeared. This could be bad.
Year’s End Festival 6 (in response to x)
Damian felt a little resistance as he pulled Sedanas towards the fallen giant, and looked back to see that his own body was not faring well with the exchange of energy going on. It seemed that the curse worked more strongly on the outside than on the inside… In fact, Damian felt a little buzzed with energy now. He wanted to let go, but by the time he decided to do so, he was already on his way out of the hellhole that was Sedanas’ body.
The next he knew, he felt the familiar weight of his spirit weapon on his back and the cool air on his bare arms. He took a huge gulp of air, as if he had just surfaced from taking a deep dive under water. A burning sensation on his left caused him to stumble backwards and let go of Sedanas’ hand. He felt extremely worn out, and he wanted to just get out of this place. Taking a moment to regain his posture, he turned to the now seemingly alright giant.
Year’s End Festival 5 (part 4 — in response to x)
Damian watched with his heart in his throat as Sedanas looked at his hand. For a moment he almost believed that he might abandon him and take all of his stuff once he was dead, but again he was proved wrong about Sedanas’ personality. Within an instant of touching his hand, Damian began to feel his energy return. So he was right after all…?
Year’s End Festival 5 (part 3 — in response to x)
Damian watched as Sedanas approached him, wanting to back away but not finding the energy to.
“I’m Milletian…or rather, I was. I’ve been cursed with something. I’m not sure what, but it definitely harms everyone near me.”
What kind of person did he have to be to be cursed with something so awful? From the looks of it, the harmful curse only affected those other than Sedanas. Damian was surprised to see Sedanas’ face transition to something resembling shock and remorse at his state, wondering if he was concerned about the state of his own body or actually for Damian himself.
"Listen…you might not like what I’m about to say, but your life will depend on it." He turned his attention to the unconscious giant. "You need to take her energy. But you should take off the gloves and make direct contact with her skin…if you can."
Take her energy?! Damian’s eyes widened at the thought, staring at Sedanas in shock. Is this what the curse was all about? Harming anybody who came into direct contact with you, only to drain them of their life force? A curse that put you into eternal physical isolation… Damian felt sorry for him, despite being on the receiving end of the curse at the moment.
Year’s End Festival 5 (part 2 — in response to x)
Damian’s vision swam for a few seconds, and he had to grab onto the nearby table to steady himself so that he wouldn’t fall. He thought he was going to faint—a mysterious force from within Sedanas’ body seemed to be violently hostile to Damian’s forced intrusion. If it weren’t for his Milletian background, he was sure he, or his soul, would be dead by now.
He forced himself to close his eyes and take a deep breath, gathering his scrambled thoughts together. He put both his now gloved hands, palms facing downwards, on the table, assuming a slightly hunched position that made it easier for him to breathe. The action certainly calmed him down enough to see his surroundings and make sense of them, though it did not help to alleviate the stinging pain he felt internally.
Year’s End Festival 5 (in response to x x)
Damian watched as Sedanas left excitedly for the feast table on the main floor. If he was being honest with himself, Damian wasn’t all that hungry yet despite all the events that had happened, having finally understood Sedanas, and how enticing all the food looked. Instead, he felt a little anxious and unsettled. Where was the trap? Surely the previous event wasn’t the last, seeing as the main feast had just begun.
He unsheathed his spirit weapon, as doing so enveloped him in the familiar warm light green glow that comforted him. Leaning against the cool crystal wall of the castle, he turned it over a couple of times, allowing the rhythmic gesture to clear the tension he felt in his body. The spirit residing inside did not speak, as there was no need to—all Damian needed was time to collect himself and relax.
When at last, all seemed to be going well, he felt his soul being tugged outwards, as if by a delicate yet unbreakable string. Damian panicked, resisting the unnatural force by instinct, but it was no use. The lights went out, and he was separated from his physical body into the unknown.
When he next opened his eyes, he almost didn’t recognize his surroundings. He was still in the ice castle, but in a different position—closer to the food table. Also, he seemed lighter somehow… He reached for his spirit weapon’s sheath, which should have been… on his back? Eyes widening, he flailed his arms, dropping the breadsticks he had been holding, and looked all around in panic for the missing weapon.
Then it hit him: these were not his clothes. This black and grey attire… These clothes were… his partner’s. Sedanas. A sudden bout of rolling sickness and dark haze made him stumble—what was this feeling? Too many things rushed in and out of Damian’s mind, making him dizzy on top of the strange ailments that he had suddenly been afflicted with. He felt too hot, then too cold. Was this a side effect of transferring bodies? He couldn’t be sure, but he had a creeping hunch that Sedanas was not all he appeared to be.
