Where Optronix falls in love with Megatron for his mind and kindness, they become very close and married. And even though Megatron is a respected professor, everyone could see that he was basically Senator Optronix’s trophy conjunx. (Though Optronix would shoot those rumors down quickly) But they do love each other deeply and a bit naïve themselves but they’re young.

Anyway, in this au, Sentinel falls for (more like lusts for) Megatron but unfortunately, he is married to that nosy senator. (Yes, even Sentinel is terrible in this universe) And, Optronix is becoming quite a thorn to his side. So, he hatches a plan to send Optronix far away with the help of his “friends”. (Who? I have no idea, maybe some of the other senators who wanted his money or to save their own reputation)

So they kidnap Optronix and ship him off to the Quintessons. (Seems a lot easier than framing him for crime) Making him a hostage and slave. But they can’t have Megatron go try to save him. They can’t have that.

So they fake Optronix’s “death”, leaving Megatron heartbroken. It especially doesn’t help Megatron when he learns that he is sparked. Sentinel swoops in and tries to seduce Megatron. But Megatron, as he is in every universe, is too stubborn. And would rather die than remarry, Optronix was his whole world. Luckily for him, his friends help him with the situation. Unfortunately though, Sentinel is relentless for years.

Meanwhile, Optronix is seething with rage and revenge. So he plans his escape with help of other fellow enslaved cybertronians, naming themselves the Autobots. And let’s just say they brought their revenge down hard on the Quintessons. And stole everything that wasn’t nailed to the floor to build their fortunes and fund their revenge plan.

(When Optronix told his fellow mechs what happened to him, they were furious with him. Plus, they were also sent to the Quintessons due to Sentinel.)

Thus, Orion Pax the wealthy businessman/archivist was born. (Elita: Archivist? Orion: well I can’t be a senator again, at least for now.)

So, they sneaked back to Cybertron, trying not to draw too much attention too quick. And to learn what happened while they were away.

So, during a party, Optronix makes his entrance as Orion Pax to collect intel while the others spread out to collect their own information. And seeing Megatron again, who looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks, breaks Optronix’s spark and desperately wants to tell him the truth, but can’t. They can’t go against the plan. Or they’re all doomed. And seeing Sentinel again doesn’t help.

During a conservation, Optronix learns and is secretly overjoyed that Megatron was still single and didn’t remarry. The bad news is that Sentinel is relentlessly trying to make Megatron reconsider. This pisses Optronix even more. He lightly defends Megatron’s honor and soon leaves, while Megatron watches the newcomer go with a longing look.

Other time, Optronix even learns that Megatron was sparked and had a son, Goldbug. (Which causes Optronix to be overjoyed again but then furious that he didn’t get to see his son’s birth and be by Megatron’s side)

Anyway, the group snakes their way to each of Sentrinel’s co-conspirators and the council. They even get help from Megatron’s own friends, such as Soundwave and Shockwave. Even though Megatron’s friends are a bit too goody goody to really help, they do give results which Optronix can’t complain.

Over time, each of the conspirators get either killed or their reputations ruined with either fraud, embezzlement, etc. All thanks to the Autobots and Optronix sowing the seeds and revealing buried secrets. Until finally comes down to Sentinel.

Now, with all of this going on, Sentinel isn’t stupid. As he watches his former conspirators fall, he is noticing a pattern. And it all indirectly goes back to Orion Pax. So he plans his own scheme to stop him. Unfortunately before he could do that, it suddenly comes out to the public that Sentinel secretly had the previous prime killed thanks to incriminating evidence and witnesses.

Sentinel tries to escape into exile but not before he tries to have his way with Megatron one last time. But this time, he is not taking no for an answer. He breaks into the house and threatens to have little sparkling Goldbug killed if Megatron doesn’t comply with him. Luckily, Optronix steps in when he heard that Sentinel was trying to make a break for it. He reveals himself and fights Sentinel off then mortally wounding him.

When they are finally safe, Megatron reveals that he knew Orion was Optronix all along and is relieved that he is alive.

They all live happily ever after.

I have a question about your SG hopeless Orion/Optimus. Do the Decepticons still think he's a threat, or are they aware he's just the saddest boy?

He left to find the matrix early on in the war, and when he found it and it couldn't fix everything, he isolated himself. So he's not known by many people. Once the Decepticon's become aware of him, they instantly (and correctly) clock him as a non-threat. The challenge they face with him is rekindling his spark of hope. If he gets that back, he would become one of the best champions for freedom and justice the Decepticons have known.

Matrix of Fatherhood AU: There's a truce between the Autobots and the Decepticons? Since Ratchet told Megatron was in research of the Allspark.

Since the Council is the one who shot the Allspark in the space, are both Autobots and Decepticons pissed off about that?

(Hi Rory!) Yep the autobots and decepticons are allied in this AU. To any outside observers they might think they're the same group but there is a slight internal divide as the two factions formed separately and then came together with a common enemy in the functionist council, which controlled much of the planet.

With the autobots and decepticons working together (and especially with the new prime on their side), the council knew it would be overtaken. So in a last act of spite they launched the All Spark into deep space, essentially dooming cybertron and all its inhabitants to extinction.

Because Optimus is now the prime it was decided that he should temporarily fill the power vacuum in cybertron (he wants to transfer power back to the city states as smoothly and quickly as he can) while Megatron takes his most valuable commanders (Soundwave, shockwave, begrudgingly starscream, others) out into space to find and retrieve the All Spark.
