Hello and Welcome!

I am currently going by Streamflow until or if I find a name that better connects with me. I am absolutely brand new to the Otherkin community as I have just had my awakening. I am light furykin (no, not THE Light Fury from the HTTYD 3 movie, but A light fury) a shiny tapu kokokin, Drago’s Bewilderbeast (Drei)kin, monster(???)kin, singetailkin and lugiakin.

This blog is pretty much just a place for me to better embrace this side of me that I have discovered, to hopefully connect with others on this same journey, to better express myself in a place that I am comfortable in, and to learn more about Otherkin and myself as well.

-I will be tagging my posts, but I will not be tagging into fandoms since this is not personally connected with the fandoms themselves, just the species and I do not want my otherkin-related posts cluttering up the fandom tag. So tags will come in the form of “Light Furykin”, “Tapu Kokokin”, “monsterkin” “dragonkin”, ect and not use the HTTYD or PKMN tags.

I'm going to the mountains for a week in less than a week for my birthday and I'm so excited and I'mma feel like I'm at home again!

Last night I had a dream that I could quadrobics. Not the show-horse-jumping-over-things kind, but just walking and running.

Now, I am not in the best physical shape and I'm an old dork, so needless to say, I cannot do quadrobics irl without having to stop very shortly after and with it being very uncomfortable. I'd love to, but I really just can't (and I know quadrobics do NOT make a person otherkin, but I always thought it'd be fun~).

So I've actually had dreams like this before. I'm not any of my kintypes, I'm usually just human me, but there's just always something so...freeing about those dreams. When I wake up, I usually just lie there and think about how wonderful the feeling is.

In my dreams, there's no struggle against my physical body, no tiredness, no discomfort, no having to stop almost immediately because my body is yelling "Hey, this isn't natural to this shape and it's hard on me!". Just me, crawling and running in any way I want with no discomfort or tiredness. It's just a minor, non-life-altering thing, but these little things that the universe sprinkles to us are sometimes the most cherished.

I love being a dragon and my other kintypes, and I love that my dreams support this for me to in their own little ways from time to time~

Being pokemonkin can be really annoying sometimes when people place your worth on your stats and battle capabilities in competitive fights.

Like, maybe I'm cool cuz I'm a fancy electric tropical bird or a water-loving whale-dragon.

What's it like being otherkin? Do you get phantom-limbs or something? Does it feel kinda like body dysphoria? Sorry if this is intrusive or rude that's not my intension, I'm just quite curious

I mostly get mental shifts, but I do get phantom limbs from time to time. Body dysphoria is a good way to put it. There are times where I feel really uncomfortable in my own skin over certain things, and since I have multiple kintypes, this discomfort can alternate between things.

And it's not intrusive nor rude, so no worries~

Vocals are probably what I do the absolute most involving my kintypes (those that are instinctual animals, of course) and I probably do it when I'm alone all the time. I just need to get better at accidently growling at people. :/

The weather is getting nice and I need to return to my home in the mountains where I can catch fish, drink from the streams, and lie in the sun to warm my scales.

shoutout to all the alterhumans and systemmates whose 'types and shapes are common phobias. to those who feel as though they cannot show images of their true self for fear of hurting others.

shoutout to the polykin who feel the need to identify themselves more as one 'type, because another is a common phobia. to those who have to bite their tongues, sigh, and favor the more palatable 'type as a mask.

Sat on my porch today, closed my eyes, and really took in the sounds, feel, and smells around me. It's surprising how sometimes the most simple of things can connect me to my kintypes.

The thing about TikTok is that there are a few therian creators on there who don't make it all about quadrobics and gear, but the TikTok algorithm doesn't give them the same audience that it gives 15 year olds jumping on all fours with a tail. I think people also like to pay more attention to the parts of therianthropy that look like a fun hobby, and not the parts about it being an involuntary. It's not necessarily the creator's fault, but people just pay more attention to things that look fun and not actual information.
