It does make me think sometimes.
Although I don't know for sure, as far as I'm aware, a fictotype can't precede the media it came from?
Like, let's say HTTYD 3 hasn't even been thought of yet, and someone calls themself Light Furykin? Or a white night furykin that can cloak?
Would a Light Furykin even know they were a Light Fury (or at least a very weird night fury), without HTTYD 3?
Or do fictotypes remain "dormant" until exposed to the proper media?
Or do people simply interpret their kintypes with the knowledge they have? Would consuming media that contained their kintype change it or their interpretation of it?
The way I feel about it, the media could leave an imprint on the soul that develops into a kintype. Conversely, it could awaken a long dormant piece of the soul that is the kintype.
But... why is that? Why does it happen? Is it just how an individual can interpret themselves?
