Hello! Clair tells me I need to network more, and apparently that includes making a rotomblr account, so here I am. For those who don't know, my name is Lance, and I'm the champion of the Indigo League. I specialize in training dragon types! Feel free to send me asks about anything and everything, and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.

Then do it. It'll be harder for sure, but you can do it.

"I want to be a pokemon trainer and travel the world but I'm an older person"

Then do it. it's never too late to pick up pokemon training, you're never to old to learn a new skill.

"I want to go on my Pokemon journey but I have a disability"

You can still do it. It'll be different, and in many cases harder, but it can be done- hell, your pokemon might even be able to help you.

"I want to go on a Pokemon journey but I don't want to go alone."

Then bring friends with you- or make friends. There's groups now on swablusky I saw just the other day for matching up with other trainers in your experience range to travel together.

"I want to go on a Pokemon journey but I don't have a rival."

You don't need one. If you have that kind of self-motivation to carry yourself further, you don't NEED a rival.

Pokemon training, pokemon journeys, pokemon contests, all of these things are for everyone. Your experience might be different or harder or strange to someone else. But that doesn't mean it's any less than anyone else's. If you're thinking about taking that step into the world of pokemon companionship? Do it. This is your sign to give it a try.

I know three of you guys said I should name the Goomy Puddles, but ultimately your opinion doesn’t matter 💖 so I’m deciding on Pizzazz, thank you anon! Great suggestion!

But SPEAKING OF GOOMY, I know people on here like Goomy and may want Goomy of their own someday, so I’m going to say what I tell all my clients: GOOMY ARE STILL DRAGONS. Not only that, but SLIGGOO AND GOODRA ARE AGGRESSIVE! They also have bad eyesight, being nearly blind. Even if a Goodra is “aggressively playful”, they’re still AGGRESSIVE and powerful dragons that are ACIDIC. Even Goomy in their first stage, although they’re timid, are teeming with bacteria in their mucosal membranes. Basically, do your research before you decide to get a Goomy, and understand that the risk of getting hurt or sick is never zero, no matter how much your Pokémon loves you. Keeping dragons properly is serious business, and part of that is knowing your own limits and keeping yourself safe.

O-Oh! Hello . . . Um, well . . .

I was thinking of either . . . Scizor or Forretress. A-At least, for Pokemon that I could raise . . . I have more experience with the latter, but I thought that Scizor could be nice, too . . . Um.

Oh, Scizor are phenomenal. I have one– Ku'i has never let me down.

in general the Scyther line are pretty damn hardy. They're good at taking care of themselves. Most of the potential problems are the same as any bigger pokemon. If you can handle that, you'll be fine. They mainly prey upon smaller Pokémon, so if you have any little guys you might want to watch out. They might get aggressive, but unless they're trying to eat you you'll usually get a warning. They swing their arms up around their head and flare their wings.

Theyre damn cool pokemon.

I don't know AS much about. Forretress, but they're also pretty low-maintenance if I'm remembering right. They're not gonna move much. They're ambush predators as well. So long as you provide them with a good environment and proper nutrition, they should be a-okay.

I-I see . . . ! That makes sense. When it's put like that, taking care of a Scizor sounds a little easier than before . . . M-Most of my Pokemon are pretty large, so . . . I don't think I'd have to worry about one preying on them . . . T-That's good to know about Forretress, too! I think I read something similar earlier. They're so interesting . . . Um . . . . . .

. . . It's sort of difficult to choose between the two of them right now. They both sound like good choices. Though . . . I guess I should also think about how my other Pokemon would react. My Skarmory might be a concern . . .

Goodness, I haven't made an actual post on this website in a while! I've been rather caught up in my duties, I suppose. But! It's hatchling season in the Den, so I thought I'd share some care tips for young dragon-type pokemon.

Oftentimes, dragon-type pokemon grow rather quickly in the first few years of their lives, and those with scales need to shed them with some regularity to accommodate for their new size. While going through this process, make sure your pokemon is sufficiently hydrated at all times. Keep an eye on your pokemon and ensure that all of their scales are shed fully as well! Scales that remain can dry out and pinch the skin of your pokemon, and may cause health issues down the line.

Futhermore, most dragon-type pokemon have a rather intense teething phase. As their baby teeth are replaced with stronger adult teeth, their gums may get sore and be in discomfort for some time. If you can find a soft but firm toy or two for your pokemon to chew on, this can help relieve some of that discomfort!

Not so much the shedding part, but Swablu also have a sort of "teething" phase! I don't believe it's actually called teething, because, well. They have beaks, not teeth, but they will have a phase where they just kind of want to bite things.

However, it's due to curiosity, not discomfort! Biting different things is a way for them to explore the world and learn about different textures and such. Toys can be helpful, and provide a good alternative to, say, fingers or clothes.
