Humans, much like Cybertronians, tended to make rude remarks about things they didn't understand. Chase was used to it. In fact, it didn't really bother him. Most of the time, insults slid off him like droplets of water. Chase didn't feel any sort of negative emotion towards the comments- not like his team did, anyhow. More often than not, he was just confused by the reasoning behind the comments, or what their actual meaning was.
This was different, though.
Soulless machine. Sparkless machine. They were the same in the end. A being without feelings. A robot.
Chase stiffened when he heard the insult, optics flicking towards the citizen that was storming off. His chest felt... Uncomfortable. It wasn't a strong feeling- none of his emotions ever were-, but it was enough to make him feel overwhelmed.
Chase kept still, limbs stiff as a board. Blades said something, but Chase didn't register the words. Soulless machine echoed through his mind. He could hear the disgusted voices from his past mocking him.
You're just a Sparkless Machine- you don't belong here. How could a freak like you ever make the right call? You'll just end more lives than you can save.
Chase blinked when Blades' hand suddenly landed on his shoulder. The police mech refocused his gaze, helm tilting ever so slightly. His chest felt tight. "Define 'okay'," Chase requested, voice seeming more tight than it usually was.
