Redraw/fixed my old art from 2023
okay i saw your art and literally exploded like omg I have so much questions, who are your inspirations, how are you so good, what is your art process like, how do you pick such vibrant colors, and HOW ARE YOU SO GOOD??? legit you are art goals!!!!
Ah thank you so much that’s so sweet of you to say! DaiYi_Art is an extremely talented artist with a detailed realistic style that you should definitely check out! My style isn’t as detailed as theirs as I prefer minimalism in my shape choices but still a great inspo
In terms of my art process it’s important i have tons of references usually either taken by myself or I find modelling photoshoots/fashion shoots
My sketch actually can take me awhile since it’s the basis of my rendering, after cleaning it up I fill in on a separate layer behind the sketch a base color usually grey to render on.
I also almost exclusively only render/color using a darkish grey as the background because it allows me to see color better
I work in greyscale and color but for majority of my pinups it’s usually greyscale first, I block out shapes with darkest and lightest first and then put the mid tones really messy
I use a basic blending tool afterwards and smooth everything out and I use the lasso tool a lot to block out sharp edges
For coloring in greyscale I use a multiply layer to put down base colors and undertones/blush etc, then i’ll use other overlay layers to brighten the colors and then I usually make some gradient maps to overlay on top to make everything cohesive!
In a lot of my art there is a greenish/blue hue in dark areas and just as a style thing I make that color more vibrant as it makes the art pop against warm colors
That was a lot but hopefully that helps! let me know if you have any other questions
