An element that has perhaps gone unnoticed, but was later explicitly introduced in SxF. were the onions. Investigating a little about its psychological meaning: Onions have two very remarkable characteristics
The first is the best known as tears. Apparently, every time an onion is cut, it generates a gas that reaches our eyes and causes an involuntary crying reaction. (I invite you to investigate more on this topic, whoever wants to deepen)
And the second, is the structure of the onion made up of multiple and fine layers, joined one to the other.
This is how the onion in some dreams, or analogies, represents "denial" and "emotional repression". When some feeling produces us: sadness, anger, anger and frustration. One way to deal with it is through denial. Not wanting to deal with a conflict that generates guilt, or so much sadness and not having the necessary guidance or support. It leads us to want to deny these emotions and start building layers that hide and bury these emotions. In that way, we become onions. We become layers, and layers that hide our true sadness. Since we don't want to deal with it.

However, I'm going to focus on how the Twilight character, or rather, (Deleted) represents an onion. Twilight hides a deep sadness, for events in his past that caused such a strong emotional impact. Being just a child, not having anyone by his side to support him.
As he was growing up. Twilight was building layers based on resentment and hatred towards Ostania. The supposed culprit of taking everything from him and causing an emotional wound that he perceives as "impossible to heal"
Then, the realization that this hatred was not carrying anything. Understanding that ignorance is a "sin". They took him to a state, where it really didn't matter who he was
It is at this point, where being recruited by WISE. A new layer formed: Twilight.
Twilight, is the strongest and thickest layer of all. And on this layer, he has been building many more. His smaller characters
However, every onion can be cut at some point. And when it is opened, that gas of emotions is released. Releasing those emotions that he thought were dead. Seeing his friends again opened a wound that he resigned himself to bear. Causing his tears to spill out.
Now, in the Loid Forger character, he's been building little cuts along those layers. Releasing those emotions, and especially those memories
Little by little, and without realizing it. The layers of the onion are weakening. Although, we cannot forget. That when you open the onion, it implies crying. So, most likely, at some point in the plot. Twilight will have to release that emotional repression, and face what he has tried to escape for so many years.
The truth involves tears. But it is the only healthy way to be able to overcome what in the past has hurt us and we cannot forgive.
Obviously. The onion is an analogy of the lies of the world. But interestingly, it also represents how still in the Forger family, and in Twilight himself, They still have many layers of lies to deal with.
Interestingly, in the anime they added this scene of Loid cutting onions. In the manga it is not appreciated that he is cooking. So I like that they went to the trouble to add the onion. It's a small detail, but it's appreciated.
