My Mother, Divine
Her words are jumbled to her there clear. But scattered thoughts are all I hear.
I smile at her hold back my tears never letting her know my fears.
Confusion sets in and frustration festers what she was trying to say has finally left her.
Months go by things seem fine. She stumbles on her words her, thoughts, her lines.
Her mind's unraveling this much is clear. She is heartbroken, full of fear.
She weeps and wishes for a time when her mind was working fine.
But there are things she cannot face when conflict ensues she seeks a quiet place.
Her stress, her fear a tiring race but all is overshadowed by her grace.
She is loving, she is kind, she is trusting but never blind.
People like her how hard to find. She is my mother and she is divine.
Mom I love you. And I know sometimes it's hard for you to say, to remember, to do the things you used to do. But I want you to know that I love you. I can't truly understand how hard this must be for you but I will never leave your side. I will always be here for you.
