“Always.”
“Alright, pick your poison. My treat. I don’t get sane normal people in here that often, I think it needs to be rewarded.”
ellie-fredrickson:
“It’s definitely not easy. Carl’s had to talk me out of a few hasty purchases, I’ll admit.”
“Oooh like what? I love a good shopping story!”
moira-wants-the-diamond:
“Hmph. Whatever. You’re the one stuck here then/”
“Yeah. That’s true.” She shrugged and stood up. “Want a drink?”
thessabell:
“Yeah… It’s really great.”
“What, you don’t think so? Feeling bogged down by the pressures of parent hood?”
moira-wants-the-diamond:
“Why wait? Why not contact the right people and make them notice you? A little money usually greases the wheels the way you need it.”
“Well, I wish it were that simple. I’m not going to go into detail, but just throwing myself out there could ruin what I have going for me already.”
ellie-fredrickson:
Ellie laughed. “Yeah, I bet. It’s been a while since I’ve done that. Carl and I are saving our money right now.”
“Saving money is so difficult. I don’t know how you do it, it’s burning holes in my pockets!”
ellie-fredrickson:
“Really? Not surprising.”
“I can’t wait to go shopping with all my extra tips, that’s for sure.”
thessabell:
“I don’t have a choice. My husband wanted kids and now we have them, I can’t not take care of them.”
“I suppose you’re right. I never knew my father. It’s good for the kids that you’re there for them.”
moira-wants-the-diamond:
“Sounds perfectly sensible to me. It almost makes having to survive the place worth it if you’re able to do something like that.”
“This is only temporary, I hope. I really want to become a household sensation. Just have to get noticed by the right people.”
theres-good-noose-tonight:
“Ah, so sorry. Business like that is good though, do you not agree?”
“I whole heartedly agree. This is close to the busiest time of year.”
myworldnownotyourworld:
“Freedom requires green and green is not so easily come by in times like these. Although, I suppose in this neck of the woods it’s gold that we’re all after, huh?”
“I’m not entirely sure what you’re saying, but I like it. I’m a fan of green and gold, definitely, but it’s hard to find anyone who isn’t.”
thessabell:
“The school year is absolutely the best time of the year. I’m so glad my children are out of the house. I mean, it’s not boarding school, but it’s good enough.”
“I’m not a huge fan of children, so I can totally understand where you’re coming from with that. I don’t know how you do it.”
ellie-fredrickson:
“I know what you mean. I always get used to the kids being everywhere, and then they go back to school and it feels quiet. Glad to hear things are going well for you, though.”
“Yeah, getting to be around the busiest time of year, actually.”
moira-wants-the-diamond:
“Lucky for me you’re still so busy, I need to escape that mausoleum of a castle and this is one of the best places.”
“Well, I won’t disagree with you there! I didn’t particularly enjoy my time at school either. Kind of ironic I now make my money mostly from the staff and students there who come to my shows.”
“Everything seems quieter now that the kids have started back at school. However, the Club couldn’t be busier. Parents sure are glad to have some free time, I believe. Wish I could say the same!”
A Night Out|| Jessica and Thad
totallywicked-thad:
When Jess stepped into the fireplace and disappeared amongst the flames, Thad hesitated a short moment to give himself a pep talk. It was obvious Jess liked him. Or at least thought he was sweet. So he needed to relax and enjoy himself, or else he was going to ruin this date. Smoothing his shirt self consciously, Thad stepped into the fireplace and said the name of the restaurant clearly.
As he appeared in the lobby of the elusive restaurant he knew so well, Thad stepped out of the fireplace with a wide smile that only grew when he spotted Jessica. She had obviously already gotten them a table, so when the hostess led them through the dining room, Thad placed his hand at the small of Jessica’s back protectively as they dodged table after table. The small table for two they were led to was perfect, tucked in a quiet corner of the dining room. Pulling out Jessica’s chair for him, he waited patiently until she was settled before going and taking a seat in his own chair. “It’s been far too long since I’ve been here. I’m excited.” He commented, looking up at Jessica across the table with a bright grin.
Jessica cringed as he touched her, but it wasn’t his fault. He didn’t know how little she liked to be touched, and she certainly hadn’t told him so. Instead, she went with it and pretended that it was okay. It was only a short walk to the table anyway, and besides, he was nice enough that she didn’t have much to worry about... except for herself anyway. She had to admit, he was acting very gentlemanly besides. He wasn’t being as crude or lechorous as some of the customers that came calling, and it was like a breath of fresh air. Maybe that’s why she had agreed to go out with him. He wasn’t a customer after all, and didn’t she have this unspoken rule about not going out with anyone- especially customers?
Jessica brought up the menu and perused the selections. “I could do with a bottle of wine” she said, going over the choices. “What do you suggest to order? I haven’t been to a place like this in a long while, and I’m not picky. Well, actually, I wouldn’t mind something with meat in it.” She hoped she wasn’t surprising him with her food selection. Jessica was not a salad type of girl by any means.
A Night Out|| Jessica and Thad
totallywicked-thad:
Thad nodded, listening to her closely. His heart fell when she mentioned fireplaces not fitting into the club, worried his transportation method was completely dashed. But then she mentioned the Post Office and the knot in his stomach loosened. He was going to need to calm down or else he was going to have a heart attack or something. It was just a date. He had been on countless number of dates! This was no different. Except it was with Jessica Hare. But he needed to ignore that fact.
At her question when they made it to the fireplace, Thad stammered, trying to think of the answer he readily knew a moment ago. “It’s…it’s my favorite restaurant. I thought you’d like it. Well…I hoped you’d like it.” He rambled on a moment before furrowing his brow and cutting off. “Right. The name. It’s called Garufin. They have the most amazing Argentinian small plates..” He felt insecure in his choice all of a sudden. What if she didn’t like this kind of food?
“Garufin? Well I’ve never been there, but I have had Argentinian before. Quite good.” She noticed his hesitation and frowned. He was still acting so nervous, but he had nothing to be nervous over! She wish he would snap out of it, but she was so used to this behaviour that she knew he would only snap out of it when he was ready. “Well, alright. Now that I know what to call out for, I shall meet you on the other side.” She threw the floo powder into the fireplace, shouted Garufin, and was off. This wasn’t her favorite way to travel in the least, but it was much better than apparating. Only flying was something she thought was more luxurious.
She stepped out of the fireplace once she got to their destination, and waited for Thad to follow. The place was gorgeous, and very popular by the looks. A waitress came over and greeted her. “Hello miss, how many?” Jessica smiled, hearing the fire behind her crackle a bit. “Two please.”
