ive seen a lot of people worried about what will happen to drawtectives, given the recent news. im also concerned since drawtectives has been a big hyperfixation for me for more than a year (as you can probably tell by this blog haha)

rest assured though, im still motivated to work on this mod. so even if drawtectives ends, drawtectives will still come to the valley

wow my last post was on feb 19. about time i posted here again

im still working on the mod, i just kinda work on it whenever i feel like it so its not consistant. plus i maaay have started another big scale project, ooops. anyway theres something im not quite sure what to do with

so im trying to figure out the map, cause i wanna change it to fit the drawtectives characters and that means moving around a lot of stuff. so i kind of dont have much left going on in the desert. i was thinking of replacing it with something, since i cant really think of anything desert related from drawtectives that would fit and im placing most of the characters in the town since i want them to be accessible from the start. if anyone had any ideas id be happy to consider them. i have an idea for ginger island, and i could just move the last of the desert stuff (mostly skull cavern and desert festival) to there but i should still have some kind of location locked to the bus. i have thought of making it the northen tribes but that feels a bit daunting. also that should be linked to the train. maybe i can replace the bus with a train....

havent worked on the mod that much lately, been too busy playing the game with mods that other people made

spotlight of some of my favorite mods im using rn:

all the cornucopia mods, more flowers, more crops, artisan goods theyre all really good. im trying to get full shipment which ive never done before even with just vanilla stuff

growing valley: child npcs and growth spurt, a lovely mod that makes your kids into giftable npcs and gives jas and vincent a little growth spurt (optional) theres a few of these kinds of child npc mods but this one got my attention with its delightful artstyle. it also lets you customize your kids appaerance or use the 'canonical' kids designed for each marriagble character. (only some of them are available currently i think)

cats everywhere just adds cats everywhere snd its very adorable. you can pet them. thats it theres just cats everywhere. i also have a pet overhaul mod that adds more adoptable pets including the cutest little pigs and bears! thats right you can have the deadly polar bear in your home with you spouse and kids. and also theres a blue hedgehog! youll never gets what i named it

animated hats. the cowgirl and wizard hat sparkle, the silly hats propeller spins, some of the shirts animate as well. its great i love it

vanilla recipes and hidden crops recipes add some nice variety to cooking recipes. i have a lot of cooking mods right now but these two dont add so many so theyre not overwhelming. vanilla recipes adds recipes from each of the villagers, so it gives a nice incentive to befriend all of them so you can cook the dishes and then gift them back to them! and the hidden recipes gives more use to the new crops like brocolli and powdermelon

prismatic hair bow hasnt been updated since 2021 but it worked for me and its super cute. i finally got myself the prismatic cowboy hat but i dont find myself really using it so a bow version is perfect for me :3

better festival notifs has saved me from having to restart days bc i missed the festival plus you can customize which sounds it plays to remind you

pinkstations cotton candy recolor makes the valley super pastel and pink and cute :) you can customize what colors are used such as for the grass and tint of the rocks and such and you can even make it different for each season. i like having pink grass in spring and contrasting it with mint tinted rocks and blue water, while in summer i make the grass mint with peach tinted rocks and purple water. i also like making the dirt and sand darker for each season, so light for spring, medium for summer and dark for fall. its fun to play around with and theres also an interface version that adds similar colors to the interface, also configurable.

pelican town accessibilty which adds handrails and wheelchair ramps so george doesnt have to live in the middle of an inaccessible town as the only wheelchair users in it

many players will get the joja catalogue and use joja furniture especially early on so this is high priority

i dont remember if i posted these. the first image is based on her image on the wall of shame in the season 3 theatre, third image is a mix of her season 1 party outfit and her mug shot in her arrest report. i figured she wouldnt be wearing that formal dress as everyday clothes, especially if she lives in the valley. ill have to make something up for her winter outfit

one of the things i love about working on the drawtectives stardew mod is since most of the characters dont have more than one outfits, and many of them being specific to the circumstances and not dailywear (like the party in season 1) i get to design outfits for most of them!

i thought itd be fitting if i changed stardew valley to Bardew valley in my drawtectives mod so i started editing the S in the title logo to a B and then i zoomed out
