It had been quite the expense to get permission to let Arthur go out of the city walls without him, the only stipulation was he was to be placed in the care of a Master. In their many nights alone together, Arthur had told him many things, and though he had not explained the depth of their relationship, he alluded to a relationship with Emrys. As he and Emrys had no allusions about each other, and a somewhat positive relationship--though minimal--he asked, and the old wolf accepted. Arthur was tracking Amelia, for he knew the wolf felt about her the same way he did. perhaps not with the same intensity, but they had forged their family and it had been ripped apart. Arthur understood that.
Almost two weeks had passed since he’d heard from them, and there was a distinctive letter in the mail. Both Emrys and Charles had agreed that it was a more efficient, less open form of communication. They had a lead, and Arthur had said they shouldn’t move without Charles, that he’d want to be there. his the skin at the edges of his eyes crinkled as he smiled. Arthur knew him almost better than he knew himself.
He packed a bag, got in his car, and got clearance to leave the city. what the city didn’t know is he didn’t have intentions on coming back. Once they had found and recovered Amelia, he and Arthur would take her somewhere she couldn’t be taken again.
They were a family, it was time to live as one, and he didn’t think Covaire could give that to him anymore.
