“Based on a picture, I couldn’t quite tell you what the ailment is. Your friend would be better to come to the ER to have that looked at.”
“I’m bored.” the brunette spoke as she stirred the straw in her drink. “Entertain me?”
Dahlia turned her cheek to the brunette, raising her eyebrows. “Hardly my job to do that,” she replied, sipping at her gin and tonic favourably.
Fresh Air | Open
Carmen learned the hard way to make sure you were on the guards’ good side. Being on that side meant being able to spend precious time outside. Out of the small cell. Into the fresh air. The sunlight. To feel the breeze on your skin. She never thought air could be a luxury until she found herself at this place. It was Ironic how nice the place looked from the outside, it really did look like a castle – the way it was named and how it looked on inside didn’t match at all. It was some sort of sick sense of humor, to be in a castle yet be a prisoner within it’s walls. Slaves constantly talked about being bought – as if being bought would be any better. Sure you’d be out of the chateau, but at the mercy of the person that buys you. Carmen never wanted to be at anyone’s mercy. Her life was hers and hers alone. She didn’t need to be claimed. She didn’t want to be claimed. As well as she didn’t want to stay here any longer. Would being claimed be the lesser of the two evils? The brunette found a decent patch of grass and sat herself down on it, leaning back on her elbows and letting her eyes close. She was going to enjoy this. The short time she got to be out of her cell.
The courtyard offered a reprieve from emergency surgery on a slave who had been gutted, a master finding it amusing to rupture the boy’s hernia. Like popping a pimple the vampire had joked, only he’d popped the boy’s bowel. Stupid. Nolan had a quick hand, staving off the worst so that she might arrive. The boy’s instability had her treat him in the infirmary instead of the hospital, though he would be transferred there now for the night to ensure he didn’t fall prey to sepsis or infection. When the breeze hit her face she sighed, withdrawing her surgical gloves. Her hair was pulled back in a messy bun, her forehead and neck sweaty. Blood stained her clothes and upper forearms, the residuals from working before being gowned in a triage rope. The papery fabric hadn’t been enough to save her outfit. No bother. Clothes were disposable to a doctor.
She didn’t notice the girl at first, casting her eyes aside as she rolled up the gloves, stashing them in her pocket while sighing. Dahlia closed her eyes and enjoyed the sun on her face, saying nothing.
Company | Open
Alexander paused as he stepped into his office, the loud music of the club thumping against the walls. He rose an eyebrow, a smirk coming to his lips before he shut the doors behind him and sauntered into the room. “Well I certainly wasn’t expecting company at the moment.” He mused, working at undoing the tie around his neck. “So what are you here for? Business or pleasure?”
“Both?” Dahlia asked. She sat on a comfortable chair opposite his desk, wearing a short strapless gold party dress. Her tanned bare legs were crossed at the knee, revealing her favourite Louboutin heels. She was half tempted to kick her feet up over the arm of the chair but she merely reclined, tilting her head at him as he loosened his collar.

He wouldn’t mind her honesty, because it’s an opinion. It’s one he can understand, but wouldn’t fully agree with. “It’s not, but I was worried. It’s a lesson well learned. Misha made sure I knew all shade of blood afterward.” He hadn’t been hurt, but someone else had. Though, it wasn’t the first time nor the last that he saw Misha kill someone in front of him. Louie smiles when she asks about nightlife customers, though, his smile is a bit darker, more seductive, but it doesn’t last. “You’re asking if I had clients shagging in my cab, aren’t you?”
Misha. The name of his patron is familiar to her, but she says nothing, smiling at the thought of what they were taught in medical school about shades of blood. Iron levels were a key thing to watch out for, the tinting of blood stains, how different levels of nutrients and drugs affected its thickness and viscosity. “I had in mind the drunk ones that have a proclivity for throwing up everywhere,” she corrected him, chuckling nonetheless. “But I wouldn’t put it past people to do that too.”

Hugo frowned, he didn’t like that she seemed to be putting down the Alpha or the pack they both belonged to. “I haven’t found that to be the case at all. A few bad seeds here and there but nothing out of the ordinary.” He thought about it then added, “Except a lot more vampires.” He didn’t make a big deal out of helping her with the door, hopefully she wouldn’t either. “Me too. But you never know. Every now and then it has to happen.”
It was not meant as a slight on the pack. The generous and kind were often affronted by the harsh nature of Covaire’s society. Hospitality in the British sense was what was missing - the sort of bending over backwards to meet the needs of guests. She chuckled at his remark about the vampires, herself indifferent. “Well, may we meet again under better circumstances,” she offered, nodding to him in a pseudo-curtsy, taking her box of samples to her Range Rover so that they could be processed by pathology at the hospital.
Danielle was coming from the cemetery. She had went to place fresh flowers t her mom’s grave. She was walking out of the entrance gates when she looked up catching a scent. Her brows furrowed together. “Didn’t think I would find anyone else visiting this place.”
For someone as old as Dahlia, funerals came in ebbs and flows. As a youth there had never been any joy in them. The loss of kin in their pack had always brought about elaborate rituals as a child. The death of an English aristocrat during her teens had been dowdy and boring. As a young woman there had been no funeral for her parents, or her pack mates following their slaughter. All of them had been left to rot, some in a ditch, others in their homes. When funerals happened now, they struck her differently. For patients, it was a fact of life but for long term acquaintances it was much heavier. A much older wolf had passed suddenly, of all things a heart attack claiming him. At first they all had feared wolfsbane, but an autopsy had revealed that one of his ventricles had burst. It had been quick, painless - and yet a reminder of how one’s healing factor could slow. He had nearly been half a century old. Such wisdom. He had been a friend to her for many years. It was hard to think that he was gone, and from something that seemed so human.
When the brunette commented, Dahlia’s eyes lifted. She didn’t immediately realize she had left the gravesite, the smell of fresh earth still heavy in her nose. “There was a celebration of life this morning,” she remarked, blinking twice as she checked her watch. “I apologize if I’m in your way.”

They met before and he liked her. She’s fit and he’d be happy to shag her if she’s submissive. Though, he still enjoys talking with her and she’s a wolf. Today, they met at a VIP/Elite in the private lounge on the third floor. Louie was curious about the room even if it was expensive to get it. They’ve been talking for the past half hour and now exchanging stories about work. “I’d never lie about work! I swear that slave really poured ketchup all over himself and got into my cab, crying that he was dying and I fell for it. Though, midway to the hospital, the dispatcher told me to stop because the slave was trying to run away. It was ridiculous!” He’s laughing, though he’s not sure the slave survived.
She’s still not sure what to think of him. He’s charming, but he appears young. While his English courtesy was present, he was still a young man of the 21st century. The way he spoke reflected it, and she laughed as he spoke about his cab. “Ketchup isn’t even the right colour,” she chuckled. “Far too orange to be blood. You didn’t smell it?” She had certainly seen her fair share of crank cases to get out of the chateau. All too quickly the fakers realized that if they wanted a real hospital holiday, their injuries had to be quite serious. She didn’t like thinking about the incentives that gave people. Picking up her drink, she sipped on it heavily, draining the glass. “I imagine partygoers are also special.”
reclusive-rage:
The loud voice directed at her caught her off guard, and made her pause. Who the hell was the blonde woman. Ziva looked at her with confusion. “Dominion? Rented?” None of what the woman said made sense to her. The last thing she remembered was blood, a lot of blood. Ziva looked from the woman who seemed to be the medical expert around, to the guard. The guard didn’t seem bothered at all. “Am I in jail? What happened, and who are you?”
“You’re a slave in the Chateau, darling,” she answered gently. The guard grunted and turned away. “I said the wrong place, apologies. It was on my mind as we just dropped off evidence and billing for your injuries with the Dominion so that the master that rented you will be charged for it.” Charged of course meaning billed. The law was not on her side. “My name is Dahlia Karziuka. I’m a surgeon at the hospital. You required minor surgery to close a number of deeper lacerations and wounds to your stomach and ankles. Your muscle is regrowing nicely but you should not over-exert your abdomen. You still have stitches.”

HOT DAMN, it sucked to see that woman leave. She was a beautiful, strong she-wolf, and it made his wolf rumble inside of his skin. “Oooh.” He licked his lips, eyes locked on Dahlia’s until the doors closed. They were quick to open back up. “Let’s work on a new nickname for you.” Jared’s abrasive and dominant. His large hands find a secure place around the she-wolf’s waist, and he lifts her.
Dahlia had turned to head to her hotel room. She was tired. Her bedroom was being re-painted, and the smell had her opting to treat herself to the spa and a night of luxury in town. When the elevator pinged immediately after, she glanced over her shoulder, seeing him step out after her. She smiled, hands moving to fold across her chest. “And what should I call you?” she asked. As he brushed against her, she arched her back, her shoulders rolling back so that her chest popped out. Her hands shifted when he took hold of her, palms flat against his chest. “Chamiškumas?” she teased, her native Lithuanian slipping out. “Chutzpah?”
reclusive-rage:
Every time he rented her, Ziva knew he was just trying to push her until she broke. They both knew. Initially she was submissive, and did everything he wanted. Sure the older wolf wasn’t very pleased, but she didn’t care. Ziva had been confused when he continued to rent her on the regular. The master had only one intention, and he was going to break her spirit and will if it was the last thing he did. After a few weeks her perfectly sculpted disguise fell apart. From then on things took a different turn. He loved that she was putting up a fight now. Ziva had been left bloody, bruised, and flesh torn off her bones. The master left her tied up like that for what felt like months. When he came back he wasn’t alone. There were other wolves with him. With barely enough energy, she put up a fight best she never ready to give up. They kicked her around and shoved her against the wall roughly when she hit her head. Everything happened so quickly. All she could see was black.
When her eyes opened slowly, everything seemed blurry so she shut her eyes again. Her entire body was sore. She didn’t know where the pain had come from, or where she was. Groaning, she sighed as more pain coursed through her body. How did she end up in this cell, and more importantly, where was she.
Dahlia watched as the brunette came to. Her hospital visit had been rough. The young wolf’s healing factor was the only reason her bones hadn’t required surgical pins and she had new muscle growing back on her ankles. Deep lacerations and bite marks to her abdomen were the only reason Dahlia had been pulled onto her case. Ziva had needed surgical mesh to help the tissue come back together. She was strong, but there had been moments when the nurses hadn’t been able to stop her from screaming when she’d come out of it. The sedation and drugs had helped her through her brief stay. Dahlia now stood outside her cell with a guard, signing off on the paperwork to transfer her care back from the surgical wing. “Slow down,” she barked, eyes turning sharply to her. “You’re back in the Dominion after a rough rental.” Looking back at the guard, she handed back a tablet, using her fingerprint to sign off on it. “She’s not to be rented for at least 3 days.”
The whole fake-it-till-you-make-it thing has really worked out for me. The more times you do that, the more you realize that no one really knows what they’re doing; everyone’s kind of figuring it out or pretending they know until they do know. And you can apply that to anything— you just have to hustle.

Looking to start fresh. I apologize for going MIA. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. I’m so excited for term to finish at the end of May. <3 Looking for fresh plots for Dahlia as well - let me know if you want something short and snappy or long term. Missed you all.

“Fuck no.” Jared blurted out with a dark chuckle. “Listen here, if I’m gonna give something the kind of power over me to have me scared, I’ll be damned if it’s insignificant.” The bell dinged, and the doors opened up. “–and look at that. Time to get off, and you did just fine, Goldilocks.”
His laugh offered her a rich rumble, the vibrato carrying through her chest. She shivered, smirking. When the door pinged, her eyes flicked open and she sighed. She stepped into the doorway, her right hand leaning into the frame to hold it open if the door decided to close. Her left hand moved to point her finger into his chest. “You would do better to not call me that,” she replied sharply, lifting an eyebrow. Still, her cheeks are flushed, her position and tone flirtatious. As the door pushed against her hands, she stepped back into the hall, tilting her head as it closed and he disappeared behind it.
