Yep, still practicing daily. Day 32/100 #100daysofhandstands Floating off the wall 🙃 this is one I would have never attempted if I wasn't forced to in class (not forced, just encouraged) and practicing this next to my old teacher trainee friend 👯 earlier made me focus on engaging ALL the bandhas so I wouldn't fall on her! Long Post Alert... Felt like sharing my experience in case anyone else needs the reminder. Feel free to scroll on through 🙈 You know when they say the mind is a powerful thing.. well, it's true. For some people this may not be relevant, but for those you who are reading: You ARE enough, just the way you are. Nothing more, nothing less. &You are LOVED, just the way you are. A simple negative thought can turn into a repetitive cycle of thoughts and maybe even worse &it's more than just what we think of ourselves.. it's also what we think of everyone around us. For each person the experience is different. Maybe it's easy for you to move on and let go, or maybe you go into auto pilot and don't even realize you're pretending, but if you're like me.. letting go of negative thoughts is not easy. As much as I love roller coasters, I often find my mind works in the same way a roller coaster works and my body can often feel the physical effects of it once it's all over. I don't have a solution .. (who does?) But I will offer this.. from my experience there are 3 (let's call them tools 🛠) I come back to every time .. whether I'm feeling anxious, sad, hypomanic etc: 1. Breathe. This sounds cliché, but if you've ever had an anxiety attack or episode you can understand how hard it is to take a minimum of 10 Looong breaths. It takes focus, so try it. After this .. 2. Separate your thoughts and feelings from the FACTS. Most often (against popular belief) it's not 🚫 personal like you think.. whatever the situation is.. list out the FACTS first. Then the "major" situation doesn't seem as scary anymore. 3. Positive affirmations. Now that you've gotten rid of all the false truths.. come back to a mantra or a couple of positive truths about yourself to set your mind straight. My favorite mantra is: I am strong. I am beautiful. I am loved. Depending on what you need at that moment, these can change.. but if you can only think of the negative.. then actually negate that word and think about embodying the positive word instead. 💜 #maybethishelpsmaybenot #inthenameofLOVE #oneLOVE #mentalhealthawareness
