I've had my dreads for about two months with the twist and rip method. But the bottom layer fell out. I was wondering how I can get them to lock up faster?

Theres plenty of ways to encourage dreading but the best way is to keep the sections separated and let them do their thing :) make sure the hair is kept clean and unconditioned. You can use a sea salt spray to make the hair coarse and more likely to knot, you could try wrapping the hair to keep the sections in but not too tight so that the haur cant move or it wont have the room to make knots. Thats all i can think of atm! I use a crochet hook to keep mine tight :) youve got to remember that twist and rip is not creating dreadlocks, you're just creating sections for the hair to dread naturally :)

So, when you have dreads and you dont want them anymore do you just cut them off?

It really depends on age, hair type etc :) a lot of people will tell you that they brush out at any age but i dont have the experience to say for sure. But definitely up to a year, maybe two they will just brush out with some persuasion and patience haha xx

If I don't comb or brush my hair will it dread naturally? I have coarse wavy/curly hair

Hello :) it will, if you keep it clean but unconditioned it will definitely start to knot up, its called free form dreadlocks! :)xx

They have returned, after feeling regret for two years, i finally decided to welcome them back and get rid if all the stagnant energy thats built up with feeling regret and not feeling completely myself 😁 lets see how many active followers i still have! I'm removing mine at the moment :) as much as I love my dreads it's time to move on from them...feels good to remove all that stagnant energy :)x

So I've been looking into dreads lately. My hair is currently very short, so I was wondering how long I should grow it out for before starting the process of dreading. Btw you are gorgeous!(:

Heyy! I can;t say for sure because I didn't think about it when I was dreading my hair and I can't say they've shrunk that much. Shrinkage depends on all sorts of things, method, hair type etc, so research how much shrinkage you'll get for your hair type and which method gives the most/least shrinkage etc, sorry I couldn't be of more help xx

how did you do your dreads? they are lovely! I'm confused at how to answer this because it's a submission rather than in my ask box, hmm. So I'm just typing under your question :') I used the twist and rip method and the occasional crochet hooking haha xxx

Do what you want! It's your hair. Nobody should be mad. :) There have been times when I've considered getting rid of my dreads so I know how you feel!
