✦ SOMNIBOUND

bleehh not sure if anyone remembers somnibound (my dreamtale rewrite), but i am revisting the project and updating designs!! starting with adult daydream (dream for short) ^_^

took loose inspiration off of aztec culture because i thought it would be cool if dream & nightmare were based off of ancient people of mexico and their gods! they're old, something of legend, etc etc (plus og dt clearly had some sort of probably unintentional mexican themes)

the little hummingbird is his animal companion named kiwi ,, she is immortal with him and he's had her since birth. a gift from nim :-) the aztec sun god is associated/is a hummingbird, so i thought that'd be a fun nod to that! (which, yes, means nightmare gets a rabbit companion)

the villagers that come and build a town near the tree are going to be based off spainards because i want to explore themes of colonialism and whatnot

anyway i dont have much notes other than that!! under the cut are some close ups ^_^
