suddenly remembered the time i began fantasizing avenchelle. it was january 2024, and i didn't think of their relationship as romantic yet. penacony and aventurine had only been teased, but i was already suuuuper interested in the concepts hoyo showed about them. i just absolutely love tropes where you go to places where your "dreams come true" (haha, i wonder why), and it's so good to explore the good and bad sides of trying to hold onto your dreams (or delusions?).
anyway, i pretty much slapped that conflict on richelle lol. their relationship was transactional from the start; they had aligning interests, so they made a deal with each other in penacony. they initially had a bad ending where richelle chose to succumb to her "dream," and aventurine had to let her go because it was a part of his deal to help her get to that "dream". tbh there wasn't much romance in it either, given the state of their relationship that time 😭
it was only after a couple of more weeks that i finally decided to develop their relationship more, and have richelle avoid that bad ending. also because penacony and aventurine would eventually release officially, so i finally got to learn more about them properly LOL
so yeah it was actually kind of a slow burn thing for them... and now i'm acting like a hopeless romantic over them 🫠
