Kate: Are you free this Friday?
I’ve never seen that. Isn’t it about picking out wedding dresses? I’m not sure I’d be down for that…
You would think, but it actually super good. Lots of body-positive messages, some sass from clerks make the brides feel important and making their dreams come true- It’s just the romantic in me, but I love shows that always have happy endings.
That and the dresses are beautiful. There was one where a woman wanted this cocktail dress in white, but the underskirt was rainbow to go with her shoes and if any wedding dress would be mine, I’d want that one.
Oh I don’t feel too bad. With the money Sabrina’s already got, there’s no way she was winning the lottery in the first place. The universe doesn’t work like that.
The universe needs to understand that as much as I love fashion design, the thought of not working and owning a mansion in L.A. or Sydney or Tokyo is just as good of an idea.
I basically want to be rich enough that I don’t have to look at price tags when I buy things.

Marley: I'm not sure...
Marley: We should probably... hang out more and get to know each other better?
Kate: That sounds like a fantastic idea. How about a walk down Broadway? Talk about plays, maybe find a dessert shop and have something sweet. I can bring Georgie along, he loves walks.
It’s the perfect freaking day to stay in bed all day. I’ve got my laptop, netflix, and no clue what I’m gonna watch. Any suggestions? Also someone should bring me Bailey’s for my coffee. And donuts.
It is a holiday today, so I am doing the same as you. Watching ‘Yes to the Dress’ is perfect for these types of days.
Well. We didn’t win the Powerball. Looks like I’ll have to keep pounding the pavement and auditioning ‘til I find my golden ticket. I mean, I wouldn’t have gotten to make the ‘Sorry, I won’t be coming into work anymore’ phone call in the first place, but it would’ve been kind of funny to walk out onto the street and flip off the first casting agency I found just for the sake of it.
The $4 we did win bought me a delicious waffle though, so I guess I can’t complain too much.
Don’t feel too bad, I bought ten tickets and didn’t win, either.

Marley: I like you too..
Marley: But I'm also confused.
Kate: Is there any confusion I can relieve?

Marley: Thanks, Kate...
Marley: More as in..?
Kate: Thinking about what I knew about you before, and then comparing it to the texting and everything...
Kate: I think I like you.

Marley: I know... Thanks, Kate.
Marley: A part of me feels that it's more than just coincidence. And the kiss was nice...
Marley: What did you think..?
Kate: I thought it was, too... I was one of the people that told you to text the number in the first place.
Kate: I think you're kind and funny and amazingly loyal and not to mention, absolutely adorable.
Kate: I thought all of that before this, now I feel... more?
ITS A BEAUTIFUL MORNING!!!
That is it! I watched the sunrise with Georgie, it was wonderful!
What? You’ve never heard of bars becoming hot spots for lesbians or gay dudes? But hey, thanks for the two cents. I ended up going with blue – it felt right. Next time will probs be the auburn.
I have heard of that, but not open mic bars. That’s new to me. Well, you did ask for suggestions for the peanut gallery, so I just fulfilled your wishes. Blue suits you, it looks nice.
So I’m hitting up a new place in Brooklyn tomorrow night for their open mic. Haven’t been there before, but I was told they’re getting a good lesbian following. If anyone wants to come out and support me…or..you know, hit up the ladies…it’d be cool.
Also now that the pink’s fading in my hair, I can’t decide if I wanna redo the pink, go blue, or rock some classic auburn. Opinions from the peanut gallery?
A lesbian following at an open mic bar. Never heard that one before.
For the sake of promoting said lesbian bar, blue is definitely more stereotypical, but auburn has a classier feel to it. Pink is more of a ‘weekend at Palm Springs’ color. If you are looking to get tons of applause, auburn is the most aesthetically chosen color, especially contrasting a black and gold ensemble.
Tonight’s the night. While not the Oscars, the Globes can be your first award season test run. How well do you check your ballot? How many nominated works have you seen? Do you Christmastree and hope for the best? Hone your skill tonight and maybe, just maybe, you’ll have a plentiful season of office award show pools.
But no peeking off my ballot. I’m a champ, and my expertise comes at a high, high cost. If you would, however, like to watch the Globes to simply bask in my presence, well… you most likely know where we live. Cocktail attire only. No messy buns, sweats or UGGs permitted on a red carpet (viewing party).
From the sounds of it last night was exciting.

Marley: I just wish it didn't have to be this way with the both of you. You both are my friends.
Marley: No, of course it doesn't.
Marley: Well, yeah...
Marley: I wasn't sure how to go about talking about it.
Kate: And I am not saying you should stop talking to her at all. You can still be friends with her, but her and I just can't stand each other.
Kate: ...We could start with how you feel about it. About the phone number thing and code names and- and kissing.
Growing thicker skin doesn’t actually equal never being sad, it’s more about not letting every single criticism under your skin, but okay? If you want to go through your life letting other people’s opinions define you – you do you.
And I totally disagree Dr. Phil – I can be thick skinned and still have personal growth. How you react/digest criticism doesn’t dictate your ability to grow as a person.
Don’t people’s opinions define you anyway? One person can hate you, go tell their friends, and then they hate you, too. Or maybe someone you work with tells your boss something they don’t like about you, and you get called in. Or your parents find out something you did and they call you to ask if you are ‘still the daughter we know and love.’ Having ‘thick skin’ doesn’t remove other people’s opinions shaping your life.
It is just from my own experience, but from what I have seen, those that are hardened to the world are more likely to judge you based on your lack of hardness.
Good news: I was stopped and asked for an autograph for the first time today. Not counting stage door, of course.
Bad news: They only realized who I was when they were done cooing at and petting Pupfasa.
No amount of Broadway fame can compete with a fluffy doodle’s charm, it seems. If I was a different kind of stepmother (the kind that’s not smitten with her step-pup, that is) I’d start looking for a magic mirror right about now.
Still, to be recognized like that- It’s a dream come true for anyone aspiring for fame or at east recognition for their work.
What drugs have you tried?
None. I’m not one for getting high. I mean, I can get why people do it as a means to relax or escape, but that is what designing gives me. Hard drugs I think are nasty, but weed is okay. Weed isn’t even as bad as alcohol, right?
