We’re 22 days into the new year and I think it’s going to be my busiest one yet! ***** From New Years in Atlanta with some amazing girls and 65,000 of our closest friends, to meeting up with amazing student pharmacists from around the country in DC at our January business meeting, and finally advocating for my patients and my profession today in Richmond, 2020 has been a whirlwind. I’ve already been able to meet some amazing people who are leading the way in pharmacy and reconnect with friends also doing amazing things (like Miss America). I don’t know what else this year holds but I’m excited for it! Every end is a new beginning. ***** Today’s the last day of American Pharmacist Month, but it definitely not the last day I’ll be talking about all the great things Pharmacists can do for their communities. This month has been a whirlwind in many ways, with school and personally. One highlight was definitely being elected as APhA-ASP Region 2 Regional Delegate. I’m honored by the opportunity and excited to see how I can use it to advance the profession I love so much. MRM was incredible opportunity because of all the students I was able to connect with, being able to participate in policy making, and being so reenergized after a very stressful month of school. I would recommend it to any and every pharmacy student. I also want to give a special shout out to the VCU group at MRM with me and all the support they gave me during the election process. The real MVP ***** We left Liverpool this morning and headed for the Lake District. Once there we were treated to tea and scone by the nicest lady in the cutest little farm house (my mouth still waters at the thought of this homemade jam). Afterwards we headed to Scotland. In my ears and in my eyes. ***** Started off the morning by leaving bath and heading to Stratford-upon-Avon. In Stratford, we visited Anne Hathaway’s house and Shakespeare birthplace before heading to lunch at the Garrick to have some bangers and mash. Next it was off to Liverpool for a Beatles themed tour of the town after a sing along. One of the most amazing sites of the tour was the Liverpool Cathedral. This cathedral is the longest in the world at a whopping 207 yards long. The cathedral was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott at only 22 years old. I found some rocks. ***** Started off the morning visiting Stonehenge. Ready to go back on a clearer day to explore the area surrounding the site that has been restored as much as possible to look like it was when Stonehenge was built. For lunch, we headed to Bath to view the Roman Baths and the Abbey next to it. The water in the baths are naturally heated and the site provides a fountain of the spa water you can drink (since the pool is filled with water contaminated with lead from the pipes among other things). It was warm and tasted like metal. Finally got my Hogwarts letter. ***** Our one full day in London was packed full of adventures. First it was off to Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately the Queen has to reschedule our breakfast, so I just took pictures out front. We had a bus tour of the rest of the city, but because of the rain, my pictures did not turn out. Our tour took us to the Tower of London to see the Crown Jewels and get some views of Tower Bridge. After lunch, it was off to see St. Paul’s Cathedral and to visit the founder of penicillin himself. Finally, off to Station 9 3/4 at King Cross Station, so bye London, hello Hogwarts! Ps. Bye Dublin. ***** Yesterday was out last full day in Ireland. We started off with heading to Kilkenny and taking a stroll around the town and taking in Kilkenny Castle. Next it was back to Dublin to take one last stroll around town (I head straight for Temple Bar Pub, go figure). I managed to find some cute doors again too. To cap off our time in Ireland, we went to see some Irish dancing and singing. I kissed a stone and I didn’t like it. ***** Headed to Blarney Castle from Killarney bright and early. Took the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone (it tasted like rock) before heading to the poison garden to look around. Puppies and picturesque views. ***** Started off the day with a Bailey’s coffee at the Red Fox Inn. Then hit the road to see the scenic views of the Rings of Kerry. Along the tour we stopped to see a sheepdog demonstration and of course to take pictures of the beautiful scenery all along the way. We had lunch at a small diner with some final views of the Ring of Kerry before returning to Killarney for an afternoon full of shopping. (Ps.
