Eggman and Sonic were close friends when Sonic was a child. Eggman and Sonic would build machines together, in fact Orbot and Cubot were both created with Sonic's assistance and that is why he never really fights them. Then, something changes, Dr. Eggman slowly starts turning from the kind man he was, the friend Sonic knew, into the evil madman he is now. At first Sonic just wanted his friend back... but now he's suddenly finding himself attracted to this twisted, evil version of his friend.

So here's an AU for you... Sonic isn't the first supersonic hero Mobius has ever had and is following his dad's footsteps (straight out of one of my fave fanfics but I don't remember the name srry) and he's like... really young. So young that Eggman (who may or may not be responsible for Sonic's orphan status) sees this kid and is just... MUST SUPPORT AND PROTECT ENEMY!!! Even if it means humiliating himself sometimes cuz like... he doesn't want this kid getting himself killed! Part 1

Part 2 And like... this is why Eggman's plot slowly get more and more drastic as they go forward cuz he begins to respect Sonic as more than just some kid who's trying to fill shoes too big for him hut as his own person and hero and he's like super cool about it and during the first few interactions when Sonic wasn't a very good hero he'd encourage him like "Aw, giving up already!? What happened to the spunky kid that tried so hard to beat me?! Get up and get yourself cleaned up, I'll wait."

Does anyone know why most of the sonegg fanfics on ao3 have disappeared? Last time I checked there were not many but now there are just three, and one of them is not even a fanfic. We don't have much content so it's sad seeing the little stuff we have disappear...
