[Sky’s Beauty Discovery]

I think discovering skincare and cosmetic products has become my only habit since I moved to Vancouver, BC. It is convenient for me to visit beauty shops during lunch break and after work since I work at downtown Vancouver.

Today, I want to do a review on Clinique’s Whole Lotta Chubby Set. I purchased this set from Sephora in late October, and I have been using it to create my daytime makeup look when I am in a hurry to get ready. I can complete a simple look (from daily skincare routine to simple makeup) in 30 minutes.

- Shadow Tint for Eyes 01 beautiful beige

I also want to share additional two products that I own from the chubby series:

- Sculpting Highlight in 01 hefty highlight

- Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in 06 rommiest rose

These chubby sticks become my best friends when I am in a rush. They are easy to be carried around, and they are convenient to be applied when I am outdoor.

The hefty highlight is a light rosy colour with a little shimmer in it. I would not apply it on my T-zone, especially my nose since the shimmer is observable. Another thing I would like to mention is that it only lasts about four hours. I usually re-apply it during my lunch break. 

The amp’d up apple cheek balm is a beautiful red colour. It lasts all day, but sometimes I think it is too heavy for me when I am in an office environment. Also, it can be hard to blend out evenly by using fingers in a short time period. 

Personally, I think curvy candy lip moisturizer and poppin’ poppy lip tint go well with the amp’d up apple cheek balm because they are in light shades and make the cheek colour stand out. A lot of people commented that they don’t like the poppin’ poppy lip tint because the colour does not show on their lips. However, I suppose it is not the case for Asians like me (warm, yellow skin tone). The tint can be glided on easily, and a significant colour is presented.

Mightiest maraschino and rommies rose are two similar shades, but mightiest maraschino is brighter. They both fall in the intense moisturizing series and are both pigmented. 

Curvy candy lip moisturizer and beautiful beige eye shadow are my favourites. I feel comfortable to wear them to work. I have been using the beautiful beige almost daily. It is an orange-based shadow with golden shimmer. I have tried blending it with my finger and brush. They both work beautifully. I will definitely try out other shades since Clinique’s eye shadow in chubby form is pigmented and easy to apply.

I like this lipstick, matte finish but doesn't dry out👍 It actually looks lighter on the camera. It's a nude to dark red shade. Not super crazy about their extreme lengthening though.

[Sky’s Game Suggestion] 

I would like to introduce this casual game, Balls and Walls. It is easy to navigate and it is really fun to play! It can be competitive since a score board is provided, but you can also compete with your own score, juggling more balls as you get use to the patterns.

[Sky's Food Adventure] Ramen Danbo ★★★  $$ 

I went to this 🍜 place in Kitsilano for 'brunch'. They have enough portion for a meal; their spicy ramen is actually spicy 👍; but their broth seems less flavourful comparing with Ramen Butcher in Chinatown and Ramen Jinya on Robsen street. Additionally, toppings cost extra. If you didn’t order any toppings, your ramen would look plane. It was still a pleasant ramen experience, though. 

 Walking along Kitsilano Beach after a meal is relaxing =) Saturday is always my favourite <3</p>

Although I didn’t like Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, I would like to try their other products.

I got Silky Cleansing Oil, Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover, and Sumptuous Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop. I am especially interested in the cleansing butter because it looked easy to use when the sales representative demonstrated how to use it.

I will share my thoughts after I test them ¶

[Sky’s Food Adventure] The Ramen Butcher ★★★★★ $

I believe people who are Vancouver based have heard about this newly open ramen restaurant or even visited the place - The Ramen Butcher - already. 

Menya Kouji's first commitment in North America. I read about them from Scout Magazine, and I finally made it to the restaurant last Sunday.  They weren't open for dinner time period until 5pm. People started to line up at around 4:45pm. There were two tourists from Toronto heard about this restaurant and were eager to dine . They even asked one of the servers for business cards after they paid their bill. One of them said she wanted to share this restaurant with her friends. 

In the picture, there are RED and BLACK tonkotsu. Broth and housemade noodles were delicious. I enjoy their broth a lot. It was heavy enough to enrich the noodles, but not too heavy to give you a headache afterward. Prices are decent. I was actually surprised. 

I would like to visit again and try out other types of ramen.

[Sky’s Food Adventure] Yaas Grill House ★★★★★ $$ My first time trying Persian cuisines. They are combo #5 and #22 (Lamb Shank). Unique tastes of rice and meat (heavy, tasty meat). Decent price, too. I would like to visit again to try out other combos!

[Sky’s Game Suggestion]

This is a simple Android game offered by StudiAU. Features include no advertisements, speed boost power-up, simple controls, options to invert controls, and leaderboard to compete with your friends.

It is hard to score at the beginning, but once you figure out how those wormholes work, you will control your ship better. It took me about five tries to score 10+, and now I can maintain at an average score of 25. If I get luck and concentrate enough, I can score 50+! 

I would say it is a simple but challenging game. I get frustrated when I crash... but it is also addicting, you will always want to try again and again...
