ok I’m so curious, re: ur tags… which necklace

I was referring to his Gucci ox-head necklace. Yibo has been wearing that necklace since June 2019. He wears it all the time, at almost every event or sighting. I remember when he was shooting Lover’s Confession, back in September if I’m not mistaken… he obviously didn’t wear it during the actual shooting but he did wear it on his way to and from work. He even wore it under his race suit during the ARRC in August (photos).

When Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo recorded their Happy Camp episode on 190709, Yibo’s necklace scratched his neck during the playing games part of the show which got Zhan-ge all worried about him. You can’t see it in the edited footage of that episode ofc. According to fans’ lip readings, gg said to him “I told you to take it off” + dd told gg not to worry and that it’s fine + Yu Bin at one point asked Yibo “Lao Xiao gave it to you?” and Yibo nodded (gif). We didn’t actually get to see any of that until 190810 when the episode aired. That’s when fans released their fancams. (Here’s one, for example. At 5:50.) Needless to say, bjyx fans got really excited about this cuz they think the necklace must have been a romantic gift from Zhan-ge to Yibo. Mtjj got mad about that, though and solo vs bjyx fans were fighting about whether dd bought the necklace himself or not. Either way, I think the speculation must have gotten Yibo’s attention. He hasn’t stopped wearing it but now, he usually hides it under his shirt. Take a look at this thread and you’ll see for yourself. He wore it all the time and normally/openly at first but around Aug/Sep 2019, he started hiding it. I daresay he could easily put a stop to the speculations if they actually bothered him by simply not wearing it anymore yet he still does. It must mean a lot to him. Mind you, we don’t know which is true. What we do know is that Yibo likes that necklace but he no longer wears it openly.

fyi: -Yibo was born in the year of the ox -Yibo is a Chanel boy, meaning he is a brand ambassador for Chanel which is why he more often than not wears Chanel during official events. I assume he gets Chanel clothes to wear for free all the time. In other words, Yibo doesn’t have any connection or obligation to wear Gucci. Zhan-ge is a Gucci boy, though -I’ve seen comments that said Zhan-ge had an event in May or June 2019 in a Gucci store in Beijing which was one of the only two stores in China that sold that particular necklace. But I don’t know if that’s true cuz I haven’t actually seen any proof of that -I read on twt that either Yibo or his company released a statement that said he bought the necklace himself. I couldn’t find that statement, though so again, I don’t know if that is true or not. Even if it is, I assume it was just done to appease his solo stans - exempting the jewelry he wears from brands he endorses (e.g. Chanel and Emphasis), the only pieces of jewelry that Yibo wears nearly as frequently as this Gucci necklace is his blue feather necklace and his TTXS ring, both given to him by Wang Han. He wears both at pretty much every TTXS recording
