The Invention of Dr. Ew (a creation of self)
I had never felt this way. My mind raced as my skin was torn from the bone. He laughed as I ran my fingers through his hair, the knife carving the flesh away from my body; he enjoyed the ecstasy I felt as my life slipped away. I knew that my true form would be released once the flesh imprisoning me was discarded upon the floor. I would be free.
Blood flowed down my body. The sound of the thick substance hitting the damp linoleum rang in my ears; I was close, close to release. He, of course, had no idea. He tore apart my vessel, unaware, enjoying his torturous act as he had with each toy before me. I began to laugh as he ripped into my jaw, his face changed from sickening hunger to disgust, unsettled by my reaction. Never had he witnessed such a beast.
No longer amused by my unfaltering insanity, I watched as the sharp point of his knife came down upon my pupil. My fingers fell from his hair and my laughter halted; only his heavy breathing and the deafening drops of blood forming puddles upon the floor could be heard. He had never before lost control and killed off his victim so early. I had upset him and I couldn’t have been more pleased.
Maddened by his loss of control he continued to carve, my fleshy exterior ravaged by his incomplete work. The body I had grown to know became nothing but a bloody shell. The structure I had seen each day thrown about the floor in gory fashion.
I awoke the next morning, jars of my blood surrounding the bed. My flesh had been sewn together to create my new prison. He stared down at me from the ceiling, smiling at his creation, “drink,” he urged. Propping my head back, he poured the thick liquid down my throat running his long fingers along the length of my neck to ensure its gradual acceptance into my stomach. I could feel the life returning to my limbs, could feel the sensation of pain rushing through every patch of skin he had threaded together.
Soon I was capable of controlling the body he had created for me, I noticed him standing across the room and as I moved toward him he came to greet me. Examining his face I took in each stitch, a patch covered the socket of one of his eyes. I realized, as blood trickled down from behind the gauze that I was facing my new form. I reached out to touch his grey exterior, only to have my own rotting flesh collide with the examination mirror.
Emptiness filled me as I looked about the room, the unrecognizable figure staring back at me. Blood fell from my lifeless eye and the empty socket I had created, the knowledge of what I had done paralyzed me. The many lives he had taken were of my own hand, preparing to create the form I now inhabited. Forever trapped within a beast, my mind pure and unknowing only hid the true darkness. I began to laugh, finally recognizing my true nature.
