This beer is about as colorful as a box of crayons. @omnipollo Shploing!! Mango S'mores. Loads of mango and the hops bitterness is mellowed out by the lactose and vanilla, but pairs so well together with the tropical fruit. Oddly enough it's brewed with salt, marshmallows and Graham crackers and those flavors lend to a slightly sweet beer and a bisquity mouthfeel. Not a bad beer. Was able to score some of @threetaverns Luxuriant NE IPA from their Hop Leaf series. This is a style that is just really starting to pick up steam here in the south. Which I'm thankful for. There's so many up north that I'm blown away by and some not so much. These beers really showcase the hops by toning the malts down a bit for a clean taste, added wheat for a fuller mouthfeel and body and dry hopped with the freshest hops for a bright and effervescent citrus medley. This beer is double dry hopped with go-to favorites mosaic, Simcoe and citra to give it a load of tangerine, grapefruit, Tropical and berry flavors. Three Taverns so far with their last two are what I would think the only ones doing the style real justice down in GA so far. I haven't seen it if theirs more out there. But expect more murky looking IPAs to start popping up here in the south. And expect them to be one of the harder beers to get. #drewsbrewreviews #craftbeer #beer #beerporn

Suppose I can't not porch up on Easter Sunday with no obligations. Little morning coffee with my breakfast Stout. I've stopped waiting in lines to find beer these days. Not worth it because I'm generally disappointed with the product. So I I decided this year to stop the searching of big ticket items and ride it out; if I get it, I get it. If I dont, I don't. Maybe that way the beer is appreciated at face value versus the time and money spent searching for it. I think it's helped. Not to mention I found my four pack at Kroger while shopping and another at a gas station. So it was necessary to be the front of the line on release day. That being said, this year has its ups and downs. There's some flavors that stand out and some I wish there were more of but the beer is that much sweeter because I felt like I don't have to fight for it. There's some maple flavors in it that are some of the best I've tasted in the biz that even the maple aged beers haven't achieved for me. But the coffee is astringent and bitter. There's amazingly smooth french vanilla that stands out and brown sugar but like the coffee the chocolate still lingers with bitterness. I'll take some notes on a big vertical soon. This was a hard one to get. Seemed harder than last year. Although I like the can design more this year, I can't say I like what's inside. It tastes like a very bitter Tropicalia and I'm surprised at how light the color is. Was a expecting a little more richness to the color and flavor. I would've liked a bit more malt sweetness. The hops are very grapefruit forward, unripe Florida orange but juicy for sure. But it leaves a very bitter aftertaste. Easy like a Sunday Morning Stout. I know I haven't really posted consistently in awhile and I'm trying to fix that. Things have been incredibly busy and even though I try to drink a new beer daily. Sometimes I find myself not drinking much during the weekdays at all aside from small tastings at work for quality purposes. That being said, because my life includes a lot of different things, I may start to include those in my posts and not just beer reviews. We'll see how it goes. @jailhousebrews Alibi grit beer. Interesting ale that is a pretty light bodied beer. Definitely a beer to be sipping on a day like today. However I'm not a grits eating type of guy and never liked them or could tell you the last time I had them, so the taste of grits is beyond me. That being said this beer does somewhat taste a bit like Malta and has some flavor of unfermented wort. A little sweet in the malt department. Not the best of beers but the ribs are good. I suppose it's hard to be mad @foundersbrewing though, the bottle has a perfect description of what's inside. It may not be my cup of tea but I'm sure many like their beers sweet. This cherry ale with maple syrup aged in bourbon barrels was shockingly sold out everywhere when it was released here. I think partly in that when people see maple syrup these days on their beers, everyone starts making pancakes. It's in there and so is a metric ton of cherry juice.
