“She’s not so little anymore, Kenny. She’ll be twenty-one soon. I’m gettin’ old.”

“So she’s twenty-one then? Lucky her. It’s really a pain in the ass when you’re not even allowed to have a glass of wine for a celebratory dinner in America.” Maya said with a roll of her eyes. “Seriously? Because I’m willing to accept that offer right away.”
“She’ll be twenty one this year, yes. She was born when I was turning nineteen,” Drew commented. His daughter was the one thing in his life that had remained constant in his life. “Let’s get on it then.”

“Yes! Alright, I feel a little better now. I’m not the only Potterhead out here.” He peered at the older male, curiosity getting the best of him. “So like, are you Gryffindor or Hufflepuff?” He couldn’t imagine the guy being a Slytherin, but people were always surprising.
“I think Harry Potter is something that will live on for generations, same goes with Star Wars and stuff like that. They have a large fanbase.” Drew shrugged, “I think I’m a mixture of each of the houses, but I think I identify as more of a Hufflepuff.”

Lucas raised an eyebrow. “Do I know you?” he asked. “I apologize if I came across as rude. I have plenty on my mind, as well.”
“I don’t think so, no. But I know you. I think the majority of the city does,” Drew sounded in response. “Don’t worry about it. You’re busy, I get that.”

“It’s just something I do. I own Burger Royal. Have you ever been?”

“It’s almost the same thing.” She joked, and rolled her shoulders out. “Okay, maybe just one.” Abbey said as she approached and wrapped her fingers around one of the weights he was holding. “Catch me if I fall.”
“You sure you don’t want to start off with something lighter so you don’t pull a muscle? I’ve made that mistake before.”

“Are they the ones that have nothing, no sides or anything? I’m not sure my washing machine will stay on it.”
“It’s a normal truck, I can’t stand the kind with no base.”

“Oh.” Lux watched the two other gym members be pulled apart by gym staff and hauled off to separate corners of the room. “Um…does that…does that happen a lot here?” she asked, her brow furrowing in concern. Maybe she should find a different gym.
“Not really, it’s mostly just...people proving who the more dominant is. I mostly just stick to myself.”

“I’m not the one cookin’ or bringin’ it to ya,” Drew pointed out. “You can call me Drew.”

“Is that a challenge?” Drew teased, laughing slightly as he shook his head. “I put a lot of hard work and time into building myself up like this. I had to stay fit to keep up with my daughter when she was younger. She was quite the energetic child.”
