My favorite movie, The Sound of Music, is turning 60 today. I've loved it since my mom first introduced me to it when I was a toddler. I've been obsessed with it for years. When I was old enough to leave for school alone, I had about 20 minutes to myself before leaving. You bet those 20 minutes where spent watching the VHS version. I even tried to transcribe it. I didn't make it particularly far, but I loved doing it.
When DVD's became a thing, I transferred the movie to my laptop. I then ripped the audio and transferred that to my MP3-player. So if I had an absolutely terrible day, and couldn't watch the movie, I'd just listen to it. It's always been my go to movie for feeling better. And even in audio form, it never fails. I still have the audio, and I still sometimes listen to it.
Happy 60th anniversary!
Yes, still obsessed. And I don't want it any other way.
I’ve been trying for months to finish something in Photoshop. I’ve started soooo many projects, but given up on all of them. Finally finished something.
These two are still on my mind. I wish there were more adventures for them to explore and us to watch.
I love this show so much!
I know no one lives forever, but I still kinda thought Betty White would.
Lucien and Jean’s first words to each other - on screen at least.
My DVD’s arrived a while ago, but I decided to save the rewatch for December. December is the busiest time of year at work, and with all the extra hours I don’t get a lot of spare time. Therefore it should be well-spent.
I haven’t posted anything Julie in a while, but today is the day. I decided to try and recreate one of the very first desktop wallpapers I ever made way back in 2006 (I think!). It ended up being more af an “inspired by” than an actual remake. There’s a lot of things I wish I had known about Photoshop back then, but I do remember being awfully proud of that wallpaper.
They are both very pink. The next thing I post will not be pink. I promise.
Yup, still obsessed and still (im)patiently waiting for my DVD’s to arrive ...
A big thank you to everyone for the very kind words and very warm welcome to this fandom. I have now finished the series and I still can't stop thinking about it. I cried when watching Family Portrait. There was a death I did not see coming - even with all my googling and otherwise spoiling it for myself. Ghost Stories I found bittersweet, but overall I enjoyed it.
Since my last post I have ordered this gem on DVD. I really want to rewatch it since I rushed through it - both because it's a really good show (obviously!), but also because the site I'm watching it on only has the episodes available for 2 weeks after they aired on tv. I have absolutely no idea when it'll get here, but I'm patiently waiting. And while I'm waiting I can always listen to the soundtrack on Spotify - which btw I have already been listening to more times than I care to admit.
To make a really long story short, I recently started watching The Doctor Blake Mysteries. I’ve caught glimpses of it here and there on the tv, but I’ve never watched it from the beginning (or a full episode even) until now, which means that yet again I am ridiculously late to the party. This show is well-written, very well-acted and I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve stayed up way past my bedtime for the past two weeks because I just had to watch one more episode before bed.
I LOVE when a show does that to me!
As you can probably tell by the image in this post I am VERY fond of these two. Their slow burning love is absolutely beautiful to watch.
The last time I posted was 4 years, 5 months and 10 days ago. I haven’t played around much in Photoshop since then. I’ve felt uninspired and I am definitely rusty. But I am quite pleased with my new desktop wallpaper.
I recently discovered Call the Midwife. Sister Evangelina quickly became a favorite and I was absolutely heartbroken at her passing This is how I picture her now.
Tried something new with the help of Blue Lightning TV’s tutorial called How to Transform a Photo into a Vintage, 1950s, Pin-Up Illustration!
Great tutorial!
