Tales of the Cocktail 2013 was en epic event and we came up with a brilliant idea to help bars booster both their cocktail menus and their attendance... For FREE!!!

I'm not sure if there is a more perfect situation than to taste amazing local wines and delicious local food at a one-of-a-kind destination, all the while supporting one of the most amazing organizations in the world: The Make-A-Wish foundation. 

So set your calendars for Friday, March 14th, at the Four Seasons in Westlake. 7pm-11pm

Tesla motors will guide you through a world of fantastic wines in the most environmentally friendly way possible... one of their Model S sedans. And proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support children in the tri-county area. 

We were able to steal away Martha Peretz for a few minutes as she prepares for this special event and got the scoop on how it came to be. For her it was a confluence of events. In the year leading up to her wedding last year, Martha attended many a bridal show as she figured out her plan. One show in particular was at the Four Seasons in San Francisco and she was blown away by the Four Seasons hospitality and the beauty of the hotel. Separate of her marriage journey, she traveled with friends to France and needless-to-say, wine tasting was a must (A woman after our own hearts!). The wines were of course fantastic, but what stuck out for Martha was how great it felt to support the local smaller wineries whose bottles never make it to America. Then when she got back, a few friends brought her to wine-tasting events and the wheels started turning. She realized that there was a big void in the Ventura County area for events like that and thought to herself: How amazing would it be if we could give the local wineries and spirit brands, who don't have big marketing dollars, exposure to the socal crowd and simultaneously give back to an amazing organization? 

Well.... we agree! This should be a really wonderful evening. We all know about the wineries in Napa and Santa Barbara is a growing name too. But did you know that there are wineries in Thousand Oaks? Ventura? Come support local wines, local spirits, local restaurants, and most importantly local children in need. 

Any time you can drink for a cause... we say you HAVE to do it. See you there!

We are now adding to our email newsletter a bona fide blog. When I fight technology, technology always wins! Sing it! 

So here we are. 2014 is the year we add “modern” to our tech ways. But other than this blog, everything will stay the same. 

We will still updated you on the best bars and brands that we find and we will still throw fantastic events for you to taste those brands and try those bars.
