As Jim cooks and goes through the rest of their day really he can’t stop thinking about how they got here. How easily they transitioned into this new dynamic. He mentioned it to bones well he was over doing the planned check up on Timothy. His friend had laughed at him and called him an idiot. Jim really was wasn’t he…
A small part of him was still scared of the meld, the bond, and the commitment but he couldn’t keep pushing Spock away. There was no going back to just friends for him so that means there was only further down this rabbit hole.
Well Tim was getting his check up he told bones about how he has decided to call his new parents. It had shocked the old doctor but he was kind in his responses. Curiously asking why Spock was called father in any language well Kirk was just captain.
Timothy reluctantly answers, “captain’s take care of their crew no matter what. So even if he decides he doesn’t like me, he’ll still take care of me if he’s my captain.”
Jim eavesdropping on the conversation purses his lips. He’d thought he’d had the young boys trust but he should have known it wouldn’t be that easy.
Bones voice echoes through the hallway to him, “but you trust Spock?”
Timothy nods, “he’s here cuz he wants to be… my da… captain has too.”
“You don’t think your dad wants you?”
Jim can’t hear Timothy’s answer but based on bones’ he must have nodded his head.
“As your dad’s best friend I can say without a doubt he wants you more than anything. If he had to give up the enterprise to have you with him he would.”
Jim enters then, “without a second of hesitation.”
Timothy purses his lips jumping down off of the chair, “where’s sa-mehk?”
“He’s in our room. Meditating I believe.” Jim answers but as he watches Tim go he lets the sadness show on his features. Bones pats him on the shoulder.
Timothy knocks lightly on the bedroom door, “sa-mehk?”
