Anyway, I mostly just came back to complain about them cancelling Daredevil and about how worried I am about The Punisher. Lest anyone following me here thinks I’ve forgotten about these shows and my total adoration of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle. Then I got sucked into Tumblr for awhile.
But yeah, this is goodbye again.

You guys really just hate any woman using her sexuality to make money. You’ll consume all her media for free but the moment she wants something in return y’all get spiteful and way outta pocket about it. i am a japanese person here to confirm that yes she is trans if you watch the episode and know everything being said there is literally no question that she is trans. the fact that she is trans is also relevant to the plot/her death. any “trans jokes” made in the episode only further emphasized how “Masao” was not a fitting name for her at all, and how she truly is Lily, always will be, and tbh, always has been. there’s no “liberty with the subtitles” japan has an LGBTQ community and I won’t stand for these ignorant westerners erasing that.

So, I guess they really did it. I’ve been waiting for it while hoping for the best. But of course they had to dash those hopes. They really cancelled Daredevil. I’m so fucking worried about The Punisher, now. We only got one fucking season of Frank on his own damn show, and I’m pretty sure Jon is already filming s2. But, already starting filming won’t necessarily stop them from it, I think they were in the middle of filming the next season of Luke Cage before cancelling it. I really hope they don’t cancel The Punisher, but it looks like to me that they’re going to. I really wish if they were going to do that that they just would’ve ripped the whole damn band-aid off at once. Just cancelled them all at once, if that’s what they’re going to end up doing anyway. Now we have this tortuous waiting period between cancellations instead.

achilles is so often called gay by the community and straight by society even though he fell in love with men and women. freddie mercury is known as the most famous gay man even though he self identified as bisexual. channing tatum is constantly called straight even though he’s dated men and women. evan rachel wood and angelina jolie and drew barrymore–all self identified bi women constantly called straight.
sappho wrote love poems for both men and women and yalls response to the idea that she might have been bi is “there was no concept of bi/gay back then!! let’s focus on the fact that she was sapphic!!” to the point where her name has become synonymous with gay and she’s called a lesbian icon and y'all only seem to have issues with “concepts” and labels when the concept/label is BI. why am i not surprised?

The person that leaked that picture of Roman apparently used to work for WWE and has leaked pictures of most of the NXT roster as well. Its so fucking gross that someone they worked with violated them in such a way. So be careful what you reblog because it’s not just Roman.
That leaked pic maybe harmless to you but not to Roman. So can we please be respectful and not share that shit?

I don’t think Roman cares about people seeing him shirtless, I think he’s pissed over the fact that a guy (wwe trainer) that they all trusted went around the locker room taking pictures of them half naked and had them send their progress pictures to him and is now leaking them either for people (and himself) to get off to or just to embarrass them.
It wasn’t to his wife or a “girlfriend” like some people are saying.
Shane being chased by a goose while Rick tries to catch it, but honestly it’s a whole lot more difficult than it would otherwise be with Shane running around like that. :p

As a combat veteran, I’d like to add something. The original cartoonist clearly missed the fucking point of us defending the right to protest and then criticizing someone for exercising that right. Most of the veterans I’ve talked to are either unfazed by people protesting and exercising their First Amendment rights, or actively endorsing the protests. Dragging a wounded veteran in our reciting the name of a dead veteran and saying, “Look at what he/she/they suffered so that you can protest! Now stop protesting out of respect!” is disingenuous at best.
You want to kneel during the national anthem to protest the actions of your government and law enforcement? Go ahead, we fought so you could. Exercise that right!
You want to march in the street to inconvenience people who don’t know about or refuse to acknowledge your grievances? Go ahead, we fought so you could. Exercise that right!
You want to burn the nation’s flag as a symbol of protest against the action or inaction of this nation’s leaders? Go ahead, we fought so you could. Exercise that right!
We service members swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign AND domestic. We are patriots, reluctant or not. We recognize that a government must be answerable to all its citizens. Fascists, racists, and nationalists are not patriots. They are the domestic enemies, whether they occupy a high office in government or live down the street, for they want to tear that document up and forge their own, malignant chains to bind this nation.

This is a legit psychology phenomenon tho like there’s a stop motion version of Alice and Wonderland that adults find viscerally horrifying, but children think is nbd. It’s like in that ‘toy story’ period of development kids are all kind of high key convinced that their stuffed animals lead secret lives when they’re not looking and that they’re sleeping on top of a child-eating monster every night so they see a movie like Coraline and are just like “Ah, yes. A validation of my normal everyday worldview. Same thing happened to me last Tuesday night. I told mommy and she just smiled and nodded.”
Stephen King had this whole spiel i found really interesting about this phenomenon about how kids have like their own culture and their own literally a different way of viewing and interpreting the world with its own rules that’s like secret and removed from adult culture and that you just kinda forget ever existed as you grow up it’s apparently why he writes about kids so much

i never saw so much push back from adults towards YA literature as when middle aged women started reading The Hunger Games. They were horrified that kids would be given such harsh stories, and I kept trying to point out the NECESSITY of confronting these hard issues in a safe fictional environment.
Also, in an interview, he said that Coraline was partially based on a story his not yet 6 year old daughter would tell him

And I was convinced all I had to do was just open it the right way and it wouldn’t be a brick wall. So I’d sidle over to the door and I’d pull it open.
