IâM LEARNING ABOUT LOVE & SEX ON TED TALK BECAUSE I HAVE NEITHER.
Hello.
Replies are coming along, slowly but surely--like for a starter :-)Â
I made the mistake of watching WYFâs movie Somewhere Only We Know and now I AM ALL UP IN MY FEELS SO SOMEONE COME HERE AND LET ME USE MATTHEW TO SMOTHER YOU IN AFFECTION because oh my GOD that movie was so cute.
@leexsun

âMy love, why so cold?â
{ â â Minsun had been sitting at the bus stop for an hour. They must be down. She thought, shivering in her spot. âIâd probably have better luck getting a taxi.â The blondeâs arms were wrapped around herself before almost colliding with a man. She blinked at his words before offering a small smile, finding it a little weird he had called her love. âAh, Iâm just never going to get used to this winter.â
âHere.â He slid the jacket off of his shoulders and draped them around her slender shoulders, giving her a reassuring pat afterwards. âThe winters here can get pretty rough, I definitely agree. Do you need a ride somewhere? Itâll be safer than to just wander around like this...â He pulled out his hospital ID card to show to her with a teasing grin. âI promise Iâm not a rapist or a stalker or a serial killer. Iâm a doctor.âÂ
"Are you crazy?"
âNo, Iâm serious, this could work.â He turned towards her, his eyes crazedâa manner so different from his usual self. He was typically calm, gentle. But the person that claimed to be him now was anything but. âIâve got to leave. Maybe Iâll go to Australia. London. Paris. Anywhere but here.â He shook his head, stepping towards her. âCome with me.â

// SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME.
@kxmxjxnhee
âIs this really a good idea?â Matthew glanced up at the menacing building, suddenly wishing he was at home with his dog. âWhy canât we just go bowling or something--â
âMatt, shut up,â one of his co-workers, a fellow doctor, rolled her eyes at him. âHow long has it been since youâve even seen a woman not in stirrups or not complaining about morning sickness?âÂ
âI think Iâm rather immune to the female body now,â he responded dryly, but allowed himself to be latched onto by the nurses on his ward. That was the thing with working in a women-dominated field--all of your friends were women. All of your enemies were men. Dating was hard.
So Matthew did what any normal guy would do in his situation: he didnât date.Â
 âWell, Iâm ready to get trashed!â One of the other doctors cheered, followed by a whooping from the nurses. Again--all women. If it wasnât for Matthewâs uneasiness that a group of women were wandering around Seoulâs night clubs in the middle of the night on a Saturday, he would be in bed right now. He looked up once again at the building he was about to be swallowed into--Firestar Night Club.Â
He gulped and followed the giddy women into the darkness, where music began to automatically pound into his ears, his heart jumping each time the bass hit the speakers. He could barely make out what anyone was saying, much less be able to keep up a conversation with his coworkers. âIâll get drinks,â he screamed, miming the universal symbol for drinking and that he was going to pay as the gaggle of women went to claim a booth for themselves. He sighed heavily and shifted in between the sweaty, grinding bodies over to the bar, where he proceeded to order 8 fruity drinks for his tormenters and a gin and tonic for himself. The young doctor slid onto the bar stool as he waited for the drinks, waving at his friends to make sure that a) they were still together, b) they were still alive, and c) they knew that he was definitely not interested in dancing.Â
It was going to be a very long night.Â
// GOOD KARMA.
@primrsoe
âIâll be back soon,â he waved at the nursesâ station, only to receive half hearted waves in return. A chuckle escaped his lips as he shook his head--as well as making a mental note to ask the chief of medicine to hire more nurses on his ward so that his own nurses didnât get overworked so much.Â
12:05pm. Perfect timing. He stepped out of the hospitalâs lobby and stretched, letting out a loud yawn as soon as the midday sunlight cast over him. It was a little chilly, as expected for a January afternoon, but that didnât stop Matthew from taking his daily lap around the hospital. He watched the doctors around him put on weight from sitting in front of their computers all day, sitting in front of their patients, just sitting all the time and not doing anything.
Yet theyâll preach until theyâre blue in the face to every patient that comes by: exercise and eat healthy. Exercise and watch your portions. Exercise.Â
He didnât know about the others, but Matthew wasnât going to be one of those hypocrite doctors. A 20 minute lap around the hospital campus, then protein shake, and then to the drugstore for more caffeine pills, he told himself as he stretched out his long legs before beginning his jog. That was the great thing about being a doctor--his daily look consisted of sneakers, scrubs, and a white coat.Â
Except when he was running. That was sans white coat.Â
âOh man,â he gasped out loud as he finished his lap, shaking his head. âWhy was that so hard today?â He fell back on a nearby street bench just outside of the hospital grounds and groaned. He was getting old, getting fat, or both. âGreat,â he muttered to himself before glancing down at his watch. 12:25pm. Another groan came from his chest as he dragged himself off of the bench and down the street to the smoothie bar for his daily protein shake.
Routine was kind of Matthewâs thing. He might not be able to function correctly without it.Â
âOne chocolate shake with 2 shots of protein, please,â he slid his card over the counter to the barista. And, out of both habit and routine, he glanced around the joint. His eyes rested on a woman just making her way into the shop and he turned back to the barista. âAlso charge her order on me, as well.â
He was a believer in good karma. What goes around comes around--he was just waiting for the good now.Â
// INKED UP.
@inkxxxdeathÂ
âGood afternoon, Mrs. Park,â Matthewâs soft voice greeted his last patient of the day with a knock on the door. A bright smile was what he received in return, and he chuckled as he pulled on his blue latex free gloves. âLetâs see what Baby Park is up to today.â He gently lifted her swollen legs up into the stirrups, helping the 8 month pregnant woman get more comfortable on the examination table.Â
âYou would think they would put more back support on these things,â he heard her mutter underneath her breath, earning another chuckle from the doctor.
âI agree,â he murmured before taking his seat back on the stool and picking up the bottle of gel. He carefully lifted her hospital gown, the bulging stomach greeting him happily. âHowâs the morning sickness?â His patient groaned, earning another laugh from him as he spread the gel over her smooth skin. âFor what itâs worth, now you have a get-out-of-jail-free card with your husband forever.â
âDamn right!â his patient piped up as he took the wand of the ultrasound machine, carefully moving it across Mrs. Parkâs gut.Â
âEverything looks good,â he spoke as his eyes zeroed in on the screen where the ultrasound images were popping up. âI think the next time you see me, weâll be ready to get all of this extra weight off of you.âÂ
âFinally.â A sigh of relief was heard as the woman tried to sit up. âHey, doc?â
âYes?â He leaned over to press a few buttons to make images of his patientâs baby, one for his records and one for her to take home. âWhatâs up?â
âIâve got a question...â she hesitated for a second, allowing Matthewâs curiosity to increase. âMy husband and I... well, we were looking into getting another tattoo.â At the mention of the ink, his eyes flickered to the womanâs arm, where it was half covered in permanent art. âWe want to celebrate the baby coming, but we werenât sure if it would heal correctly if I was busy tending to the baby and not tending to the tattoo. So... would it be okay if I got one now? Like, it wonât complicate anything, right?â
âAn odd request,â he chuckled, taking a towel to clean up the mess with the gel he had made on her skin. âDo you have the tattoo artistâs card? Iâll give him a call just to make sure there wonât be any problems.â She reached into her purse and handed him a small business card with more grateful smiles as he stood up to leave, wishing her a wonderful day and to remember to take her vitamins.Â
Kumiho Tattoo, the card had read. Artist: Chloe Grey.Â
Matthewâs brows raised at the American name--something he rarely saw living in Seoul. Closing his office door, he sunk down on the worn leather seat of his desk chair and picked up his phone, dialing the 10 digit telephone number.Â
mxtthewkim:Â
He became bashful at her hug, caught off by surprise. He wasnât the type to show affectionâexcept to his mother, or occasionally his auntâbut it was nice to have someone hold him for a change. Actually, it was nice to have someone who wasnât always nagging his ear. âYouâre welcome,â he chuckled, his arms sliding around her and giving her smaller form a squeeze. âDo you want to go see the fireworks? We can go up on the roof. Avoid the crowds and stuff.â
Fireworks at the moment sounded pretty nice, especially if it involved going onto the roof. Krystle was one who loved climbing out of her window just to lay or sit on the roof and look at the stars if she didnât feel like driving to the Han River. â To the roof, it is! â she beams excitedly, remembering that she hadnât wore his gift yet as she holds up the jewelry to him. â Can you put this on me though? I donât want to leave it here and then have to go find it later if I donât remember where I put it. âÂ
âOh, of course.â He was slightly caught off guard at her question, but stepped behind her anyway. With gentle hands, he lifted her hair and placed it over her left shoulder, carefully brushing any stray strands away before taking the necklace gingerly from the box. He had fingers precise as anyone would expect a doctor would have--within seconds, the clasp was undone and he wrapped the chain around her porcelain neck. âIs this okay?âÂ
@elavuir
His brows rose as she pressed closer to him, his mouth drying from just how close she was. He gulped, a shiver running down his spine at the feeling of her lips just centimeters from his ear. The warmth of her breath was enough to make Matthewâs heart slam against his broad chest but it was what she said that made it difficult for him to swallow. A flush of heat circled the top of his cheekbones as he dumbly held onto her hand, getting dragged to the next party. âIntense?â His head poked into the new room. âYou do know Iâm a doctor, right? Iâve seen things that can kill people in seconds.â
@hegemonique
âThank you for the gift.â When she set it down on the desk, he picked it up and meticulously unwrapped it--picked it at itâs seams, carefully folding the wrapping paper, placing it neatly on his desk. Matthew was nothing short of a Type A personality. A laugh erupted from his chest at the sight of the vitamin pens as he took them out gingerly, placing them in the breast pocket of his white coat so that their small drawn on eyes peeked over. âThese are perfect for peds. The kids will get a hoot out of them.â He arched his brow as he watched her with curious eyes, his gaze following her leg that pulled at his desk chair. Another good natured laugh came from the doctor as he stood up, obeying her orders and taking the seat he was previously in.Â
âIâm glad to hear youâve been well. If you see me, that means somethingâs wrong.â He flashed a teasing grin  up at her, spinning his chair so that it faced her direction. She looked healthy--he remembered the first time he had met her, when she was injured from a date with one of her clients. He remembered helping her get cleaned up, tending to her wounds, and even brushing out the tangles in her hair. Adults, especially adults who consume alcohol, were just bigger versions of kids. There was something so guarded about her that no doubt raised his concern--it gave him this overwhelming feeling of protection of her. That he had to watch out for her, even when she is perfectly capable of holding her own. There was just something about her. His eyes traced over her slender features, the way she held herself up with confidence. His brow furrowed slightly before straightening out.Â
Healthy, definitely. Happy? He wasnât sure on that.Â
âHow will you be of use to me?â he repeated her question before letting out another laugh. âMy dear, I have no use for you. And I definitely donât mean that in a bad way! I just meant it in a way like... youâre not someone I want to use.â He seemed to have gotten himself in a bit of a word pickle here as his brows furrowed deeper, his facial expression turning confused. âSure, friends do things like that but...â He leaned forward, taking one of her hands in his and patting it with sincerity. âYou donât have to be on the job with me. Relax, Mon. Yes, we are friends, and I very much appreciate you being there for me. How about I take you out for some coffee?â With his free hand, he flipped his wrist to take a glance at his watch. âItâs about time for my daily intake of caffeine anyway.â He let go of her hand and stood up, stretching his long limbs with a yawn before sliding his doctorâs coat off of his shoulders. âI need some fresh air too. I did a double shift yesterday so my old bones are getting creaky.â He chuckled at his own lame joke before stepping around his desk to reach for his winter coat and keys. âThereâs a cute little cafe down the street from here. Iâll buy you some cupcakes--you look like you need some sugar in your life.â Half of a grin popped on his face as he extended his arm out to her. âAfter you, miss.âÂ
// OOC.
Like for a starter. Iâll hit you up with a random one.Â
Come be Matthewâs friend--he doesnât have any, poor chump.
