Shapeshifting AU
Magical universe AU where shapeshifters aren’t totally uncommon, but being a shapeshifter is almost like a curse. Shifting is extremely uncomfortable – bones shifting, skin growing, organs re-arranging, etc. – and many shapeshifters go years without transforming.
In order to save themself from a dangerous situation, Character A shapeshifts into a bear/large bird/dog/etc. in order to get away…but now Character A is stuck because it’s too painful to shift back into their human form. Cue Character A going to Character B, a magic user, to see if there’s a potion to help them turn back.
