It’s been such a long semester y’all. For those of you who don’t know, I’m in a dual MD/MS program. I had to finish my Masters this semester before moving on to rotations full time in January, and took on two teaching jobs on top of medical school. I’ve been slacking on Mouse and my art in general. I’m so thankful for my art, and especially for the wonderful people around me: my family, my friends, my classmates, my patients, and my followers on this delicious holiday. I am sure the admission’s offices must have one of the hardest jobs ever when it comes to education, but from the applicant’s perspective it can sometimes feel like your life is in the hands of some mysterious invisible entity you have no control over. As I’ve been helping some friends apply to medical school, I’ve been reflecting on my process from back in the day. It was a long, tough road, and I almost gave up several times. My message to those of you who are applying to the career of your dreams: it’s worth it, don’t give up, even if sometimes you feel like it’s an overwhelming and ungrateful process.
