Woa!! It's been a long time! I'm really sorry for my lack of posts, the reason is that I haven't been in the OR that much, my past rotations where kinda boring, and I didn't had anything interesting to show you. But this is going to change. I think i'll be able to show you alot of interesting things now. This is a patient with rectal cancer. We performed an abdominoperineal resection. This procedure consists of resecting the last part of the colon, the rectum and the anus, leaving this defect in the perineal region. This defect is later closed using a musculocutaneous flap or by simple closure. The patient ends with a definitive colostomy. Wow!! Ha pasado mucho tiempo! Primero que nada una disculpa por la falta de publicaciones. La razón es porque no entraba tanto a quirófano, mis rotaciones pasadas eran algo aburridas y no tenía nada interesante para mostrarles. Pero esto va a cambiar, creo que ahora sí podré mostrarles cosas muy interesantes. Este paciente tenía Cáncer de recto. Le realizamos una resección abdominoperineal. El procedimiento consiste en resecar la última porción del colon, el recto y el ano, dejando un hueco en el periné. Este hueco posteriormente es cerrado con un colgajo musculocutáneo o con cierre primario. El paciente termina con una colostomía definitiva por donde evacuara de por vida.
