I CANNOT TELL IF THE DAY IS ENDING
I cannot tell if the day
is ending, or the world, or if
the secret of secrets is inside me again.

An interview about Columbo from when Peter Falk is over. He’s asked about how Columbo mainly held unlit cigars later in the show, and Falk talks about having arguments with Columbo about giving them up. While I have read that other people found him difficult to work with later in life, I think stuff like this demonstrates a big through-line of gentle charisma; one of many times I wonder what he’d do if he’d been born later with everything we know about neurodivergence and brain health now

Se alguém vier me perguntar
Nem mesmo sei o que vou falar
Eu posso até dizer
ninguém te amou o tanto quanto eu te amei
Mas você não mereceu
O amor que eu te dei
Quando...
