[Damsel in distress mentality disorder (DDMD)]

Damsel in distress mentality disorder is a MUD (medically unrecognisable disorder) in wich someone has a "damsel in distress" kind of mentality about themselves

In depth: DDMD is a mindset disorder in wich one has the mentality of a damsel in distress, meaning that they view themselves as helpless (physically, mentally and or metaphorically) and needing of a "hero" to save them. This could be caused due to depression or an overall low image of self in wich one feels like they won't be safe until a certain someone or somebody comes to "rescue them" from it, resulting in constant waiting of said special person.

This MUD can be used by anyone and in any way, the symptoms are just an example of what the user with DDMD might present, they arent obligatory to the term.

Feeling helpless or unable to help themselves unless people help them or assist them in doing so

Constant daydreaming about the person who will come help them, usually in a romantic way but can also be thought of platonically or even sexually

Having no intention to better oneself or receive help because they are waiting for stability brought by someone

Difficulty being interested in long term relationships or friendships due to them not meeting the criteria of their fantasized hero

Unrealistic standards in people around them due to their constant fantasy of a perfect hero, maybe even in themselves

Constantly searching for attention from one or multiple persons with the hopes that they will be the one to save them

Symbolism

-The name: the reason the words "damsel in distress" were chosen was due to the archetype trope of the same name, wich often represents a helpless, female character wich needs to be rescued from evil by the hero of the story

-The pink colours: the washed out pink colour scheme was chosen for two reasons, one being due to the fact the term damsel in distress is inherently a femenine stereotype

-And because the colour pink is assosiated with romance and love, since DDMD was made in mind with the constant need of a perfect romance wich is near impossible due to the constant and unrealistic daydreaming

Please do mind that DDMD is not meant to be gendered or only apply to romantic attraction, any person can use this and interpret it as they wish!

-The castle: A pink castle was chosen as the symbol of the MUD due to two reasons aswell, the first being that most damsels in distress archetypes can be seen in princess fairytales

-And two, because the person with DDMD may feel "trapped" and in need of help getting free (this can be interpreted in any way)
