âI canât help it if once Iâve settled in a place its extremely difficult to convince myself to move.â
âI hear thereâs a party this weekend.âÂ
âThen why should I have to do both, Fabian? Why?!â
âDo you really want to go down that road? I sleep half the time with books under me and I still have to do the dishes. Itâs only fair.âÂ
âWould you rather get shot or do the dishes, mate? Your call.â
âIâd rather do neither.âÂ
âIâm sorry that the painful lessons Iâm undertaking to protect your personal freedoms bores you.â
âI think its honorable except where I always seem to end up doing the dishes on your night whenever you are in pain.âÂ
Did you know that being shot in the chest with blanks hurts? Because it does. Very much so.
I do in fact. Mainly because you never shut up about it.
Post Work Munch || Fabian & Molly
Molly hummed a jazzy sort of tune as she walked towards her brothersâ house. Gideonâs gentle admonishment had made her realize that it had been quite some time since sheâd treated her brothers to some homemade treats, and so sheâd headed to the grocery store as soon as class was out and gotten all the makings for raspberry swirl flavored cupcakes and white chocolate frosting. (Then she had stopped off at the dorm to freshen up. Not, she told herself, because Arthur would be there, but because a young lady never knew who she would run into and should always try to look well put together.)
Doing all this had, however, left her little time for eating, and she knew if she gorged herself on cupcakes, not only would she deal with the added inches to her hips, sheâd also most likely be sick for the rest of the evening. Sugar on an empty stomach never did Molly much good. As she passed a small restaurant, a patron happened to leave, the smell of food swirling out after him into the cool evening. Mollyâs stomach growled loudly and she paused, thinking longingly of a hot beef sandwich.
That alone wasnât enough to make Molly stop, she was sure she could nick some instant noodles or something when she got to Fabian and Gideonâs. However that, combined with the glimpse of her brother she caught through the window, had her stopping. Checking her bag to see if there were any frozen or refrigerated items that couldnât wait to be put away, and after looking doubtfully at the raspberries for a moment, pushed open the door, waving at Fabian until she caught his attention.
âHey Fabes.â Setting her bags down under his table, she slid into the booth opposite him. âLong day?â
His focus had solely been on his food options. It was one of those moments where he couldnât decide what to order since he was far too hungry for everything. It was impractical to order multiple meals since he knew heâd only make it through one before being full and ready to crawl into bed for a nap.Â
As he browsed through the offered ales, something he very much was tempted to order, Fabian failed to look up when someone new entered the restaurant. There was enough people in there that he didnât feel like a loner but he could tell it was strange to see someone his age dressed in scrubs and looking so tired. He certainly felt older than he was.Â
Suddenly he looked up and saw Molly. Confused, but no less welcomed to the company, he waved her over. âHey, Molls.â He leaned back and pushed the menu across to her. âWhen havenât I had a long day?â He took a drink of the water the waitress had brought over earlier. âWhat are you doing out here?âÂ
Post Work Munch [open]
His attention to where he was going was completely lost to him. There was so much going through his mind, mainly on his day and all the studying he now had to do. His panic on his way home turned straight into pure terror as he realized how soon his first exam would be. There was such little time to him. Why had he decided to become a doctor again? He couldnât fucking remember. Oh. Right. He wanted to help people.
Right.
Even through all his stress, Fabian still couldnât stop himself from sighing in resolution. There was still a few hours left until he actually had to fall asleep again for an early morning. With some quick food, hopefully the guys left something for him in the fridge, heâd be able to get some studying in. He was doing well in the module part of his schedule, not his best but it was still early and he usually did find that it took a little bit to settle back into the studious mindset that he adopted during the term.
He pulled his bag around to his side, hand digging for keys, when he caught a whiff of food. His stomach clenched in agony. When had he eaten last? Instead of heading the left to his street, Fabian trudged across the street and entered the small restaurant, tucking his keys into his hoodie pocket. He debated a moment on whether or not he wanted to grab and go, ultimately deciding that he needed food as soon as possible and walking home before eating would just be too long.
So he let himself be seated, the hostess questioning him on his scrubs attire. A menu was in front of him as soon as she walked away, a small note about how pretty the girl wasâthough it faded as soon as his eyes caught onto the menu. His stomach growled once more and he grimaced.
