me: why do Bad Things happen to me
me, remembering im a fundamentally horrible person: ah.....yes,..
––––– • ‵ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ⸢ EMILIA ⸥ !
EMILIA: you're telling me .. i have an eight year old that wants a cell-phone and i'm having mommy blues because i don't want her to grow up so quickly. what's up with you though ?? oh okay ... yea i have something??
EMILIA: did i mention to you that i have an audition for a movie ?? my friend got me an audition for it . see thats something !
EMILIA: i mean i've been doing acting since high school , but i've thought about it . i mean it wouldn't hurt to strengthen it. yea i guess so ??
PRISCILLA: are you going to give that eight-year-old of yours a cell? it's a new century, that's for sure, i remember when i was eight --- block phones were absolutely impossible to work with. and not much has changed with me! new day, same treacherous schedule.
PRISCILLA: you didn't mention that, but congrats! that sounds wonderful. what's the movie about, and what role are you auditioning for?
PRISCILLA: a little assistance never hurt anyone, so i do hope you consider it. i know of a few acting coaches if you ever need a number, you know who to call!
––––– • ‵ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ⸢ JOEY ⸥ !
JOEY: i know you are a bad bitch, i don't need anyone telling me that, i just like knowing there's more than that baby girl. it's a wonderful movie and it gets me every fucking time.
JOEY: ok hear me out, kramer is an lgbt activist and an AIDS survivor. he's been fighting for lgbt's rights for DECADES and he is also a writer. he is one of the ACT UP creators. all around lgbt hero i'm telling you, anyway, kramer and webster met in like the 70's and fell in love and dated for a while until webster ended things with him and then crossed paths in the 90's and have been together since. they married on 2013 while kramer was in the hospital recovering from a surgery and have been together since. you say blake lively and ryan reynolds? lmao bitch please kramer and webster ALL THE WAY. im v emotional now
JOEY: i just love larry kramer a lot
JOEY: i can bring all the ice cream you want, tell me what flavor you want and i'll buy you 4 pints baby, we can do an lgbt themed night and all.
JOEY: you know, papa joey thinks ennis got himself two big dogs and a granddaughter, maybe a grandson and they let him name him jack. and oooo baby i don't think the world was ready back them to have lureen and alma be a thing but can you IMAGINE?! icons.
PRISCILLA: it's refreshing for you to understand that without any explanation. you're heaven-sent, have i told you that yet today? and the next movie night we have, we'll have to watch brokeback mountain together. but i have to warn you, Jo, i am the ugliest crier.
PRISCILLA: kramer sounds like my favorite kind of hero --- not only that, but he's a gay hero? can't say i've ever had a hero that was gay before and, admittedly, i'm diggin' him. he did what was humane and lawful for the lgbt+ before it was popularized, right? what a fuckin' cool guy.
PRISCILLA: the love story of larry kramer and david webster sounds like it's more my speed --- blake and ryan were never my thang, if you catch my drift.
PRISCILLA: from the sounds of it, larry kramer loves you a lot too.
PRISCILLA: okay, so i love really anything BUT mint ice cream? mint absolutely disgusts me, but my favorite kind of ice cream would have to be raspberry ripple
PRISCILLA: don't come for the name, okay, raspberry ripple deserves better than that
PRISCILLA: an lgbt night! joey, that would be phenomenal. we could have alcoholic root beer floats! how cute would that be? i've never had them, but i've heard they are to die for.
PRISCILLA: papa joey really knows how to make me feel at ease. hopefully ennis found himself the loveliest big dogs, maybe he, his two big dogs and granddaughter (or grandson!) live harmoniously around the big horn mountains. i'm sure as hell ready for some girl-on-girl action between lureen and alma! going to have to call up the producers and have them elaborate on the lives they lived beyond the credits of brokeback mountain.
––––– • ‵ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ⸢ CHRIS ⸥ !
CHRIS: There's a plethora of reasons, I think I've lost count by now. Do you? You see... it doesn't even matter. You've always been important to me, that won't change because we had a rough night. Or a few rough nights. I'm always gonna be there for you Priscilla. You know that, right? You don't even have to worry about me not answering to you, that just won't happen.
CHRIS: Don't do that, please. I should've told you about the threats and I never did. This is my fault too. I have my fair share of skeletons in the closet and you know it.
CHRIS: You're not the root of our problems either, Pris. Sometimes life just hands us stuff and we don't know how to handle them. But trust me, you are NOT the one to blame, I want you to know that. I truly believe that.
CHRIS: But I AM at fault for leaving, for not trying hard enough and not fighting for you and what we had. Like I said, we both did things we thought were right, maybe because we were afraid or hurt or confused. And for my fault in the entire deal, for hurting you and giving up when deep down I knew I shouldn't have... I am sorry, from the bottom of my heart. I just wish things would've been different, because now that we're being honest, not having you in my life feels just wrong.
CHRIS [unsent]: I just hope you know I would've never cheated on you. I loved you too much.
PRISCILLA: Benadryl can regulate sleeping patterns, but it'll likely knock you out within thirty minutes after intake so you'd have to be well prepared for that --- if you're ever looking for a regimen that helps, of course. Too much on my mind. My thoughts are too negative for my brain to comprehend when I lay down for bed, I suppose. And I guess I've never known whether we would be okay again, though it does ease my conscience knowing you are still there for me when I need you.
PRISCILLA: About what threats? Someone was threatening you? Christian. First of all, you do remember my mentioning of being in martial arts since I could walk, don't you? I would have done anything to protect you. Lastly, skeletons have no place in closets. Keeping secrets is very similar to being untruthful, you know.
PRISCILLA: You've always seen the best in me, even if I am the one inflicting harm unto you, and I've never understood that so, no, I won't accept that reasoning. You left because I told you to, not because you wanted to. That's my fault. It was me that pushed you away and rejected you. At the time, I thought that was what I wanted. I thought that casting that same sadness onto you and making you feel how I did would be for the best, that I would come out on top like I always do.
PRISCILLA: But I want you to know that I wasn't consciously filing for divorce ... when I realized that my actions had been set in stone, it was already too late and you were gone. I had officially lost you while I should have been making an effort to fight for what we had. Should have learned to listen rather than commence fights with you.
PRISCILLA, UNSENT: I miss you. I miss you more than I've missed my family, more than I've missed New York. And, as much as I wish that you didn't have this addictive effect on me, I don't want to lose you. Not again.
––––– • ‵ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ⸢ HAYDEN ⸥ !
HAYDEN: NOT SO LOUD!
HAYDEN: i know it's a text but... the walls have eyes. HUSH. also it's not for enjoyment oh never mind.
HAYDEN: and um, it was fine? i don't know... was i supposed to hallucinate or something? you know something along the lines of lucy in the sky with diamonds?
PRISCILLA: Right.
PRISCILLA: I do remember that this isn't by any means a recreational decision.
PRISCILLA: Not necessarily. Just checking on you to make sure you hadn't overdosed.
PRISCILLA: As long as you don't take any other narcotics while adderall is in your system, you will be perfectly fine, so I'd appreciate if you didn't go into hysteria over my last message.
––––– • ‵ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ᴮᴱᴱᴾ ⸢ GWEN ⸥ !
GWEN: omg
GWEN: i'm so glad to know you had a good time because honestly ?? i felt like i was a MESS but hey !! i had a ton of fun and i'm glad you did too.
GWEN: oh please !! have you seen ' you ' in a mirror? i was pretty sure you were a catfish... i'm glad you aren't though.
GWEN: right now i'm a little bit busy but i would REAALLY love to see you again !! i mean, i'm sure i'd be mental if i didn't...
GWEN: god, i would be more than glad to see your beautiful smile again heart emojee
GWEN ( a minute later ): i thought those showed up when you typed the words but turns out they don't fewfkewf.. pls pretend it's an actual heart and not the word heart.
PRISCILLA: No, not a mess at all, actually. I had a great time, so thank you for giving me hope that not everyone is motivated by their own self-interest.
PRISCILLA: It'd be hard for someone to catfish me without getting into a hell of a lot of trouble, with my being a police officer.
PRISCILLA: We don't have to meet up tonight, but I do think that we should plan another date. Maybe this weekend, if you're free?
PRISCILLA: Heart emojee?
PRISCILLA: Right --- I am capable of pretending that it's a heart and not the word.
PRISCILLA: Let the records show that I would be most delighted to see your beautiful smile again, too.

@drugsold liked for a starter !!
to say that she was nervous would be an understatement. in fact the brunette was convinced that there wasn’t a word accurate enough in the english language to describe what she was feeling. ‘ just go home, forget the whole thing. ‘ blue eyes flickered down to her cell phone, looking at the screen fingers nervously tapping on it as she debated on what to do. ‘ this is not who we raised you to be. ‘ she could just hear her fathers inside of her head, even picture their disappointment if they EVER found out that she even considered this sort of out.
however what she could also say is that her fathers didn’t raise her to FAIL either. which was as much a strength as it was a weakness, as unaware of it as the brunette was. besides she did need the energy, her goal after all was HARVARD law school. which perhaps explained the load she had pushed on herself, a seven class load plus an internship. maybe ellie was right, she was doing TOO MUCH. ‘ no, i can’t do this. ‘ she mentally cursed pushing herself up from her chair with every intention of running out of the meeting, but as soon as she did her eyes caught sight of someone who matched the description of who her classmates had been talking about.
“ oh crap!“ she dramatically explained, shaking her head rapidly. “ this is going to to sound… well i don’t know how it’s going to sound, but i don’t, i’ve changed my mind. “ she rambled on, playing with her hands as she spoke. “ i won’t be needing your services? “ she questioned completely confused as to what it that she was supposed to say. “ i mean… “ her voiced trailed off, and she bit the inside of her lip in an attempt to keep herself from embarrassing herself further and maybe then the young raven haired woman would say something other than watching her struggle.
A NEW CUSTOMER EVERY DAY, priscilla wasn’t particularly shocked to have received a message from one miss HAYDEN JAMES concerning a stimulant used, in cases most common, for studying. not one to take judgement on anyone, the raven-haired dame had done it all ---- smoked weed, bumped lines, scrambled with NEEDLES in dirty motel bathrooms. adderall was nothing like any of those. frankly, priscilla was giving hayden perhaps the weakest dosage to start off with ( the few texts sent back and forth gleaned on what was detectable nervousness ). enough that she’d find the experience a positive one, but not enough to get simultaneously addicted.
this was perhaps the only deal that’d gone down in the most public of places, not that it’d been given a second thought ... priscilla WAS a police officer, who would she be to critic caving to stereotypes when money was involved ? the last thing she’d expected was to be meeting up with a girl who looked much younger than what she must’ve been, but the minute the older female walked into mocha, the predictable occurred. universal denial now that what’s been asked for is within close proximity. it was reasons like this that priscilla often learned more about who she was selling to than immediately establishing a deal.
“ sit down, hayden. ” a hand gestured behind the girl and toward the table in which she had previously occupied, however the tone was anything but sympathetic. “ it’s time to use our INSIDE VOICES. ” headed toward the front counter, in turn leaving the stranger to her own devises, priscilla ordered what was the norm anytime the coffee shop had been frequented. no trust could be instilled in someone who seemed perilous enough to give away priscilla’s information during the early stages of repudiation. with the bicerin in hand, the thirty-year-old once again returned to hayden’s faction, sitting opposite the assumed martyr. “ i know your name, but you won’t know mine ---- that’s the way THIS, ” a gesture from a manicured finger between both women before continuing, “ works. with your previous performance, i know that you aren’t mature enough to accredit trust in. you understand ? ” in a translucent package had been five tablets, which had been mindfully tucked inside a folded napkin and set beneath the styrofoam cup in priscilla’s possession. “ for my being here, you owe me sixty dollars. if you have a problem paying that now, we can come up with a method of payment that will best suit you. ”
She’s always high. In heels, spirit, pills, booze.

chris !
Looking back at their failed marriage is a bittersweet feeling, to say the very least. He had loved too hard, too deep—- and in the end, that EXACT flaw had ruined them and him in the process. Sure, they relationship had never been perfect, but if there was something the FBI agent was proud of ( and was certain in life ), was that whatever they’d shared had been R E A L. He had loved her harder than anything, had imagine and cemented a lifetime by her side; only to see it completely shattered. He is the first to accept that the bad times they shared were the lowest points in his life. Chaotic, painful and DESTRUCTIVE. A volcano meeting a tornado, leaving nothing but destruction and pain. But Christian is also the first to point the highs. The calm before the storm and the sunny days. Those days where it felt like maybe if they tried hard enough, they could make it through. Alas, both paths are now a memory, and all that’s left is a pit on his stomach he had tried to fill with as many things as his brain had imagined and the knowledge of just how much of a M E S S he can cause on a person he once loved. Nothing more, nothing less. Not like he’s the type to show it to the world, which only enhances his tiredness. Dues to pay.
Sadden ( yet not completely surprised ) by his ex-wife’s reaction, Christian sighs in response ❝ You LET me have New York? I had to LEAVE New York the minute we parted ways! And you’d NEVER liked Chica—- You know what? We can’t fight over cities, Priscilla ❞ he muses tiredly. ‘Not tonight’ his mind implies but his lips fail to express. Why is tonight different from the rest of the times post-divorce? It shouldn’t be. But can he be at fault? For years, he’s wonder—- alone at night on an empty apartment only lit with moon light and almost no memories to show on the walls, ‘had the sacrifice been worth it? Was she alright? Was she HAPPY? Breathing?’ The middle query is the hardest to pin-point, but at least Priscilla was still breathing, intact, and if even for a brief second it feels like it has. ‘At least she’s okay, at least she’s H E R E. The bitterness within her words is evident and even though Chris is known to have no self-preservation instincts when it comes to his ex-wife, he dares not to point it out or drag attention to any detail that could spark a reaction from her. Instead, he brings his fingers to the bridge of his nose as the brunette makes baseless accusations. IT STINGS. More than a few of the stuff she’s said in the past. It stings to know that’s how little she thinks of him, it stings knowing she despises him. ❝ Of course not. It’s just a coincidence ❞ he has to even remind himself. ‘BE MINDFUL’ a mantra he often needs to remind himself is long overdue. And then, the fire subtly dims and instead of igniting another fight he’s met half way with a shrug, the furthest he has managed to reach for years. ❝ Of course I will. I can get you your drink and be gone right after if that’s what you want. It’s the least I can do ❞ he confides, pointing towards the bar to give Priscilla time to walk, following behind. Once he’s reach the bar, he calls the attention of the bartender with a hand and asks for a double Old Fashioned, turning around to face the face he had been trying to forget for years. ❝ Bourbon? ❞ he inquires, because he can smell it on her clothes. He could’ve easily suggested another type of alcohol, whatever would’ve been her favorite all those many moons ago, but Christian doesn’t dare to imply the person he once met is the same person standing next to him.
MARRIAGE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AMIABLE. for chris and priscilla, there would be no malleable recoup that’d fix the occurrence of atrocities, the foundation of trust was DEMOLISHED. there was no coming back after that, and priscilla had tried ---- tried so damn hard that the blood staining an inflexible grip was from her heart and she hated that THIS is what’s left in the wake of divorce. disgusted with acquired weakness and cynic beliefs, what option did she have but to reignite a flame of rage that made all she touched likely to COMBUST ? as fate would have it, love was discovered to be an intangible thing; while secluded in faithful matrimony, priscilla would swear that what she and chris shared was real. sure, one may believe the gal was eternally scorned, but there’s euphoria found in chris’ presence. sure, that euphoria was hastily replaced by chafing aggro and soon anguish, but she had been so used to pushing emotions away during the first sign of despondence, the dame never had to lurch in it as abruptly as this. it wasn’t that she despised christian ( pent acrimony came close ), though it WOULD be easiest to move on if he’d admit how wrong the assumed cheating had been.
“ what’ta joke ... you didn’t have’ta leave new york ! if you would have told me you were leaving, i wouldn’t have moved to this trash heap. ” perhaps arguing over cities was juvenile ---- did priscilla care about that ? definitely not ! she was annoyed and willing to share any dismissive input. “ YEAH ? and why the hell not ? you must have forgotten that i can argue about anything. ” a once hopeful introspective fades with a fast-pace and reveals reality. in ten years, this argument with chris wouldn’t make a difference. she would still be THE priscilla versace. divorcee and probable man-eater. but was the spite worth its weight on her conscience ? could she move on and allow herself to love again ? so close to chris ... maybe he held the answers to the dead-end inquiries of her heart. has chris moved on ? well, the thought alone brings thick, green JEALOUSY to the surface so perhaps straying far from discovering that possibility might be for the best. “ a COINCIDENCE ? bullshit. ” vowels HISS as the raven-crowned dame REARS back as if chris’ truth bitch-slapped sensibility into her ---- now comprehensively aware the male hadn’t sought out priscilla, lips form a coherent O, arms cross vigilantly over her midriff while the boorish gaze adverts elsewhere. “ what are ya doin’ here then ? ” she’s concerned, however fleetingly ( never something a VERSACE would admit ! ). when they were together, they’d seemed to take joint custody of new york, and rightfully so ---- new york was naught but a memoir for all categorized in relation to the VERSACE-MELOY dyad. countless firsts, forgotten prosperity and bliss. so, from an ostensible perspective, avoiding contact with priscilla, and any indication of her existence, would require a change in location to somewhere she hated ... and chicago was it. be gone right after. gone again ? the quaternary words are on replay over and over and over until, “ can you make that offer irreversible ? ” priscilla didn’t mean that ... did she ? suddenly movement is initiated and the woman is turning to walk in the inverse orientation, toward the bar previously parted from. reeking of alcohol and what would certainly be a terrible compromise coming to rest, priscilla sat now with christian at her side in the deserted tavern with an overly apprehensive demur keeping her grounded. “ Yes, BOURBON. ” unless paying close enough attention, feminine speech would be drowned out by imperious pop music. before the bartender turned from them, a grip is placed upon their forearm. “ with a slice of lemon. ” just like that, attention is cast toward an ex-husband cordially ( as if priscilla can stomach the sight of a phantom ). “ tell me, christian, what has become of you ? ”
