I'm no pro, I buy a lot of drugstore brands, which I will heavily feature, but I occasionally use some high-end brands too. I am based in the UK. My September Birchbox has arrived! The theme is Heroes. This month's box includes: Batiste Stylist Instant Volume Spray (I frequently used the dry shampoo, great brand) Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil Polaar The Genuine Lapland Cream Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Blemishless (I've used a few LM products before and looking forward to using this!) Hey there! I’ve put together a recommendations list of drugstore brand cosmetics. I figured it could be useful for those of you who might’ve just started experimenting with makeup, or if you’re just looking for new things to try. All of these products are under $10. I tried to include products that are relatively inexpensive, as even drugstore makeup can get a bit pricey. Hopefully this is helpful to some of you. Enjoy! ♡

Part 1: Before You Apply Your Foundation

Face primer A face primer is essential to help protect your skin and keep you makeup flawless. The best drugstore primers are Neutrogena shine control and Rimmel London Stay matte primer. A setting spray can also be used as face primer if you have a tight budget. The best setting spray are NYX Matte finish setting spray, L’Oreal infallible pro-spray and ELF makeup mist & set.  

Corrector cover any flaws on the skin. It comes in the color yellow (cover up purple and blue bruises), lavender (eliminated yellow undertone on the skin), orange (hide dark circle and dark spots) and green (works great to cover redness). You can buy these corrector individual or in a palette. For a think consistency I recommend BH 6 Color Concealer & Corrector. For creamy consistency I recommend NYX Full coverage Concealer and La Girl Pro Concealer.

The MUA Strobe & Glow Highlight Kit has two compartments. The top has a shimmery powder, the bottom is a cream. I can not wait to use this. This kit cost £5 from Superdrug. If you're really on a budget, MUA is a good and cheap brand. I usually buy MUA when I want to try something new but don't want to spend too much on a higher brand in case I don't like it.
