Will and Jem reunite. I had an idea and I rolled with it.
The water was cold, though not unpleasant. Jem found he rather liked the feel of it against his bare ankles. Water rose up to his waist and he skimmed the surface, watching it ripple out, racing to the opposite bank. Tracking the movement, his eyes fell on bare feet, trousers rolled up to the ankles.
Will hadn't changed a bit. His eyes were as blue as the day they met, and his hair still as strikingly dark as ever. Their eyes met. Jem trudged across, pushing against the water.
"I did tell you," Will started when he reached, "that I would see you on the other side."
"I know you did." Exhaustion rattled Jem and he turned onto his back in the sand. He gazed up at Will.
"How is Tess?" Azure eyes sparked. "I assume she's well?"
"William."
He crouched, holding out a hand. "Oh yes. Sorry. You must be tired after that. I would know, I did it first."
"No need to brag."
"Oh! I heard you met my great great so on grandson. Is he as devilishly handsome as I am?" Hand on his hip, he struck a pose.
Jem smiled. "He's blonde."
"What?" The shock in his voice raised the word at least four octaves. "Like... like Gabriel?"
"Actually, the Lightwood boy is dark haired."
"He gets it from Cecily then."
"Will, there are generations between you," Jem tried reasoning. "Maybe it was Cordelias genes."
"No, no, she's a redhead."
"His soon to be wife is a redhead. She's a Fairchild."
"This gets odder by the second."
Jem laughed, leaning his weight on Will, who was content with carrying most of it.
They talked along the way, walking the length of the river and then some.
Jurdan. I could've led this up to smut but I didn't because idk. Wasn't feeling it.

Cardan's finger trailed languidly is his wife's arm while she lay against his chest. He remembered seeing her in this very position with Locke once, and an irrational streak of envy flashed green.
"Have I mentioned that you look horrid today?"
Jude's lips curved. "No. Tell me."
He pressed his lips to her shoulder and smiled. She made a triumphant sound, as if to say "that's what I thought."
The question lingered on his tongue, growing more bitter with every passing second he didn't spit it out. "Do you miss him?"
"Who?"
It was stupid. Jude hated him, there was no reason for her to be upset or nostalgic over the man who had broken her heart for sport, taken it apart for his own amusement and left her, bleeding, to fix it.
"Locke," he muttered. She lowered her book, the one he insisted she read, and took a moment. He watched her take in their surroundings. His Queen, always on edge, he thought fondly, stroking the curve of her ear.
Jude twisted in his lap to face him, narrowing her eyes curiously. "What's brought this on?"
"He held you like this once," he stated, "did you like it?"
"Maybe at the time." She shrugged. "I don't make it a habit of thinking about my ex."
"I see." His mouth found her neck and he bit down softly. She groaned and squirmed against him, dropping the book to the grass. "Who do you think about?"
"My husband."
Cardan grinned, holding her hips while she straddled him.
"But don't tell him. His ego is big enough to feel a small colony in Africa."
"Africa?"
"Never mind."
"Tell me how much you hate me," she said against his jaw. "Tell me you despise me."
"You know I can't." He ran a hand up her back, cupping the small of her neck and pulling her down, covering the apace between then with her. Their lips brushed and Jude teased him gently with her tongue. Cardan moaned, yanking at her dress.
"I hate you."
She kissed him.
"Jude. I love you too." Breathless, he hugged her to him. "My wife."
She snorted, resting her chin on his head.
"What brought this on?"
"He used to hold you here. Under the tree where I could see." His thumb ran gentle circles on her leg over soft material. "I hate that he had your heart first."
Jude stroked his hair, ran her fingers through it and tilted his chin up. "He never had me. Not really. With Locke, everything felt like a haze, nothing was real, everything a dream."
"He kissed you," Cardan murmured, closing his eyes, "but your eyes were on me."
