some random headcannons bc sans/drux is starting to slowly deviate from just being an alt of @onehpwonder;;
- he calls his brother ‘boss’ even though he has never been sans’ superior in anything par his height. once papyrus was given the title ‘captain’ and given his delta pin, he refused sans calling him anything else, seeing as all of his subordinates do.
- sans’ official and public title is ‘the judge’, a position gifted into him by king asgore. his job description is fair more kind that what it truly is; an executioner, hunting down monsters with LV that is far too high, those who the king sentences / just wants him to. “the judge” is just an ironic job for doing asgore’s dirty work.
- neither sans nor papyrus chose their jobs, much like gaster. but being so close to the other skeleton, with familial bonds involved, once the positions opened asgore “gifted” them to them; it also helped all three were boss monsters ( slang for alpha monsters ). the delta pin they wear at times is a small golden set of three triangles that runs through papyrus’ scarf and sans’ jacket.
- the reason they were chosen ties into both sans’ job & the lack of skeletons in the underground. skeleton’s used to be very common, but due to their high chances in being boss monsters, having great strength and numbers, after toriel’s banishment & asgore’s sudden... displeasing actions, there was a great risk for an uprising. so asgore had the current judge - at then a job meant for that alone, to judge the sinful - hunt them to nearly extinction. if anything, sans’ appointment was an ironic cruelty on his behalf.
- sans and papyrus are known to be weaker than asgore, hence the fact they don’t refuse nor fight back - or at least, so it is believed, although sans refuses to admit he is stronger. at this point, with the resets making everything seem nothing more than unreal, his displeasure at being a forced killer is forgotten. ( to be perfectly honest, on days when it becomes far too much, the kid, the knife, the constant death - he purposefully loses himself in the work. )
- at the beginning of each reset sans awakes with his “special collar”, a restraint papyrus has had to resort to due to sans’ reckless and destructive behavior. it’s remotely controlled and set to keep most of his magic under key. it works like this - at a certain threshold, if drux’s magic is sensed to go past such, he’ll receive a nasty shock where his own magic is used against him. he’s got plenty of scars from it, despite the removal method being ironically easy. the catch? sans can’t do it himself, someone must help him.
- yes, papyrus is extremely abusive to sans, but sans is just as abusive back at times. more often than not sans allows him to do as much, to hear that screaming logic of how he is the only one who will ever care this much for him, because it’s true. on other days, when he can’t see past the red in his vision and how hurt he is, he cuts his brother down like paper. it’ll reset anyways, won’t it?
