hey baby! i was gonna request the percy version of your make-out blurbs. love how u write him, thank u! 🤎
✮⋆˙ percy jackson make-out blurb
content: percy jackson x reader
warning: language and allusions to sex plus intense making out
author's note: wow, i haven't written one of these make out blurbs in sooooooo long, forgot how much fun they were!! i had a better idea for this one, but i didn't write it down and i completely forgot it, but i do like this idea!!
it was all percy's fault!! well, you may have played a minor part, but who could blame you?! what with the offer he gave you??
"wanna hang out down there?" he asked, nodding his head towards the bottom of the lake, looking down at you as you laid on the beach, tanning and soaking in apollo's sun. you pretended to think over his offer, but you were already getting up and taking his hand as he led you towards the lake.
and you weren't an idiot. you knew percy just wanted to get you alone and away from the other people on the beach so he could do exactly this. his lips pressed against yours, desperate to never part again, and his hands roaming your relatively bare body. and you'd be lying if you said you're hands weren't following in a similar manner, running over his lower abdomen and your lips crashing against his, like waves on a beach during a storm.
as percy's fingers toyed with the flimsy strings that held your bikini up, you yelped as you looked over his shoulder, your arms now squeezing around his body for another reasons than just being close to him. instantly, percy pulled away from where he'd been decorating your neck with hickeys and looked, only to be met with a whole school of fish watching
this is theo’s version! (draco, mattheo, and enzo coming soon)
theodore nott

warning: lowercase intended.
note: i am writing this instead of completing my school work so hopefully this is worth it :)
“ten points to slytherin.”
you smirked and held your head high, proud that professor slughorn had just gifted your house with points.
your eyes quickly went to the brunet who huffed and placed his arm down, not getting chosen to answer the question.
a tug hit your side, “(y/n), when will you admit that you fancy theo?”
pansy chuckled as you glared at her, rolling your eyes and diverting your attention to continue taking notes. “pansy, he is my biggest enemy. we have been competing against everything since first year. why in the bloody hell would you think i fancy that arse?”
ever since your first class in hogwarts, theodore nott has grown as your only rival. you both always fought to see who would answer the professor’s questions, who would receive the higher mark on exams, and who would be at the top of all classes.
even with the same slytherin friend group, everyone got used to the competitive nature that the two of you shared—non-slytherin students, professors, and maybe even headmaster dumbledore knew.
you started scribbling more words down while pansy shrugged her shoulders, “maybe because he’s all you ever talk about?” you stopped the quill you were using, glancing over at the brunette sitting a few rows away.
“i don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“miss (y/l/n), since you’re distracted with miss parkinson, would you like to come up and smell this potion?”
suddenly your confidence shrunk as the entire classroom silently watched you. slowly you ascended from your seat, heading down the stairs to the front. there was snickering from your slytherin friends—especially theodore.
professor slughorn pointed towards the cauldron next to him, signaling you to smell the potion.
you stepped impossibly close, taking a sniff of the smell. “i smell fresh mint and sweet fire whiskey.”
you take a step back and beam before looking straight at pansy, except she holds a horrified look. all your classmates silently watched you in horror and their mouths open.
professor slughorn coughed once next to you, “thank you miss (y/l/n), you may now go back to your seat.”
confusion filled your face as you walked to the stairs.
“that, class, was the power of amortentia.“
you stood clutching your black and green robes in fists, realizing why everyone was still staring at you.
“it smells different to each person according to what they find attractive. now this potion..”
you couldn’t believe what you had just heard, more importantly, you knew whose scent you smelled from the potion.
you turned around, ignoring the specific pair of eyes lingering on you, rushing to leave the classroom as fast as your legs could take you.
you could explain to professor slughorn tomorrow that you felt like vomiting, so you had to run outside.
it was only a five-minute distance from the classroom to your dorm. technically, you could skip dinner later and ask pansy to bring you food, so you wouldn’t have to see theodo-
“(y/n)! wait!”
no. this cannot be happening.
you stopped in your tracks, slowly looking behind you.
theodore was running from the same direction you came from, catching up to you at a desperate pace.
“what nott? i don’t feel like arguing with you right now. not after.. that.” you hope he’s slow to realize that you smelled him in your amortentia.
“listen,” theodore caught up to you, standing in front of you now, “i know you smelled me in your amortentia just now.”
you groaned, “it’s not true. it can’t be. we hate each other.” you motioned between the two of you. “let’s just forget all this happened to save me from some humiliation.”
you turned to continue your journey back to your dorm when a hand grabbed your arm.
“no, listen to me.” theodore sounded sincere, his usual playful personality gone. “are you really that daft?”
you stared at the boy annoyed, “me? i’m as smart as you. we’re on top of our class, how would i be daft?”
“salazar, you’re in denial. you’re going to make me spell it out for you?”
annoyance was taking over you, shrugging your arm off of theodore’s grip. “if you don’t want to elaborate, i’ll be on my way.” you sighed and continued to walk down the empty corridors.
“(y/n)!”
you don’t even turn around to the boy. “piss off, nott.”
“i fancy you.”
you made about ten steps away from theodore before you froze. did you just hear him correctly?
theodore continued, “i’ve fancied you since first year when we first met, i’ve competed against you in every class to get your attention, but now i think we should start over?”
your eyes widen and search for any signs of insincerity while he stands, waiting for your response. letting out a breath, you take a few steps back towards him.
“i’d like that.”
“by the way, i smelled you in my amortentia last year.”
in which you have been waiting to be percy’s first choice since the first time you met him
word count: 1.45k
warnings: bad english and crearly ooc percy (because he’s such a complex character and i strongly believe his relationship with annabeth is fundamental for his development)
a/n: currently reading son and feeling very inspired to write a second part with older percy, but first i gotta see if at least one person gets interested in this one
you met percy jackson for the first time at 12 years old. the two of you stumbled across each other on the lakeshore by the limit of the forest, some days after him returning the lighting bolt and luke’s betrayal. camp halfblood was a mess, trying to recover from the possibility of a war between gods and the realization of being backstabbed by their favorite counselor, and that’s why both of you decided to search peace far from all of that.
when you approached the lake, percy was sitting into the water with damp clothes looking at the sun in front of him. it was time for apollo to rest from his work, but there were still enough light to let you see the tears on the boy’s cheeks once you got close to him. “can i stay here?” he moved his head in your direction at the question while attempting to get rid of the tears with his hand. “yeah, sure.”
the sand and the water were still warm when your bare feet touched it as you reached the close side of the son of poseidon and sat there. sea green eyes full of curiosity followed all of your movements. “i’m percy, what’s your name?” you giggled a little too loud at his first statement that he looked at you confused.
“do you really think i don’t know who you are?” of course you knew him. how could you not? everyone at camp talked about the little kid who killed a minotaur, returned the master bolt and saved olympus all in one week. he was a hero and a cute one as well. “i’m y/n between.”
percy blushed at your words and you couldn’t help but feel yourself do the same at the sight. “nice to meet you, y/n” he had a bright welcoming smile on his face and the two of started talking for hours after that moment. sharing insecurities, passions, feelings and moments. everything that came to your minds. the both of you felt finally seen after some tremendous weeks.
that time was one of many through the years. during the school year you would send letters to each other and while at camp you would meet up when you could make time for that, between his quests and the war. it was always at that same spot on the lakeshore after dinner. just the two of you, alone.
your friendship was like a whisper, a quiet secret. you weren’t that close outside of your private encounters full of emotions and doubts about your lives. percy had his friends, his adventures and a prophecy to fulfill. he didn’t have the time for you.
nonetheless you didn’t care if you were able to see each other just once a week because it was enough. until the letters stopped arriving in your mailbox and percy started ignoring you at camp. the first time was because of rachel and then when he started dating annabeth. you were very happy for him, but you were also crying in your cabin at night missing the guy who knew you the best.
at some point you had to move on with your life. percy and annabeth were perfect for each other. he didn’t need your silly conversations anymore when he could just talk to his nice little girlfriend. so you moved on and it was like you and him have never been anything for one another. simply two people whose lives never crossed.
that was all before he decided to startle your life again. “since when do you still pray?” his unexpected voice made a shiver go through your spine. you were in the waiting line for burning your offerings to the gods at dinner and percy was just right behind you, probably also waiting for his turn like you were. “i could tell you the same thing” you said looking at him smirking at your words.
he seemed more mature since the last time you two had an interaction together. probably it was achille’s curse or the weight of the war on his shoulders, but to you it was deeper than that. he wasn’t the little kid crying on the lakeshore that you met years prior anymore. he almost resembled a god and you would have believed he was if you didn’t know better.
“i don’t” percy answered you with a shrug of his shoulders and deep green eyes looking at yours. “usual spot tonight?” you were at loss of words but a million thought in your head, so you just nodded. he showed you the biggest and most radiant smile ever and left you baffled in front of the burning fire.
perhaps it was stupid agreeing. after months trying to forget him, you just didn’t need the wound to be open again. but you still went to that same old spot that night right after dinner and percy was already there, waiting for you. all of your doubts were swept away when he looked at you.
gods, you missed him.
“i’m glad you came” he genuinely seemed happy to see you, almost relieved. his hands were fidgeting with riptide as a pen and his puppy eyes were focused on yours. your heart was doing cartwheels and backflips at the mere sight of percy jackson. you pulled yourself together by focusing your gaze behind the boy and reminding yourself of your well thought argument that you prepped before approaching him. “percy, why are we here?”
“I think we should talk” you sighed at his answer, fixing your camp t-shirt nervously while still facing the shining water instead of his deep stare of the same color. “talk about what?” you just wanted the boy to acknowledge how unfair he had been with you, rather than pushing you away. you wanted closure.
he placed riptide in his jeans pocket and got closer to you, trying to get in your line of sight. “i missed you” your cheeks were flushing an unintentional bright red at his words that only got worse once the son of poseidon grabbed your hands. “i’m lost without your support” percy’s touch on your skin was as tender as his voice in your ears.
“you have other people in your life to rely on” your bitterness was shown as you scoffed. the boy squeezed your hands and gave you a sweet smile, getting so close that you could breathe the comforting smell of salt water. “annabeth and i broke up” you pushed him away as hard as your heart sank at his words.
“i’m just your rebound” you felt so stupid for misplacing his actions towards you. percy was there only because he felt alone and you were his last and most desperate choice. tears started rolling down your cheeks as you were overwhelmed with emotions. “no, y/n, no” he tried to come closer but you shoved him off. “i couldn’t bear being near you before” his whole being was showing guilt and worry, but you could only see pity for you.
“i need to be alone” you were already backing away from him, rubbing your face to stop crying and trying to compose yourself. percy was frenetically apologizing as he was attempting to grab your arms to make you stay with him. “please, i’m sorry, just listen to me” he looked like a rumbling mess, but you couldn’t have this conversation with him that day. you thought you were ready to confront him and you were wrong.
you had gotten the explanation of his behavior that you so ardently needed, therefore you could leave and you did. you just walked away from him and went straight to your cabin, shutting the door behind. you thanked the gods that your siblings were at the campfire as you started violently sobbing.
he was being unfair to you. you were just starting to get over him and then he barged into your peacefulness with his cocky handsome smile and pretty dark hair which you weren’t able to ignore. the son of poseidon knew how whipped you were of him and that you would have always waited for him to affirm your place in his life, but you were tired of being left on the sidelines for when he needed a shoulder to cry on. you didn’t need to be made second to annabeth or rachel or anyone else, not a goddamn prophecy either. you were going to be first on someone else’s line if you couldn’t be on percy’s.
Hello! I love your writing a lot and was wondering if at some point you’d consider writing a Frank Zhang x mortal!gf headcanon set? I loved the ones you did for Percy and Jason and just really love the concept. And Frank’s my favorite silly little crush. 💘 Thank you if you do and if you don’t thank you for reading this!! And thank you for everything you write!!

warning: not any that i can think of??? very mushy gushy
author's note: MORE MORTAL READER HCS???? WHO AM I???? i need to make my precious boy leo some and then he and frank can be a matching pair like jason and percy...which means leo gets the angst one first bc frank got the happy ending lmao- someone request it before saturday so i don't have to delete it pls pls love ya
"w-what do you mean, my cards been declined?" you managed to warble out, tears rapidly filling your eyes as you squeezed your hands around the counter of the little cafe
you see, you were supposed to be getting a little sweet treat because you've had a rough day, and goddamn it, you deserve it!!
you stumbled into the cafe, getting of the streets of san francisco with a beaming smile
but now, all that joy was rapidly crumbling and all the troubles of the day seemed to come back again at full force and you were sure you were about to crumple into a puddle of tears on the ground until they gave you a free coffee because you were just so pathetic-
"im sorry, miss, but there's not much more i can do for you. we've got other customers, so if you could..." the poor guy replied, subtly gesturing towards the door.
"but- but-" you tried, the words getting stuck in your throat, " i really need this...please."
"miss, don't make me ask again. please, leave-"
"i got it," a voice cut in from behind you, awkwardly clearing his throat.
you turned to him, eyes wide and teary
and frank was all that much more confident in his decision to help the pretty girl in front of him
"really?" you asked, your voice cracking just the slightest
frank offered you a soft and sweet smile, nodding his head before turning to the cashier
"just a plain black coffee for me. you want anything from here?" frank asked, tapping his finger against the glass that separated you from the baked goods of the cafe
while your eyes caught on some of the macaroons, you shook your head at the cute guy buying your drink, feeling like you were overstepping
"some of those, please," stated frank, pointing towards the macaroons and you began to wonder if he had the ability to read your mind.
the cashier slide over the pastries as frank paid and you took the plate into your hands, looking up at frank as though he just saved your life
"thank you, truly. from the bottom of my heart," you mused before clearing your throat lightly, "are- are you waiting for friends or- or could i sit with you?? i feel like i owe it to you to get to know you."
"yeah- yeah, no, i'd like that," frank beamed, taking a seat across from you
and when you weren't looking, he was typing a text under the table to percy and jason telling them NOT to come to the cafe if they loved him bc he met the love of his life and did not need those two idiots ruining it for him
and, so, naturally, those two showed up anyways but took up seats in the corner, pretending to not spy on frank even though they were totally spying on frank
you talked to frank about random stuff, what brought you to the city, family gossip, your favorite color and what not
and frank listened, basically staring at you with heart eyes.
"what about you, what brings a guy like you to a city like this?" you joked, looking up at him through your lashes with a tiny smirk
"oh! ummmmm camp- uh, military camp!" he lied, quickly swallowing down his shame at doing so.
"oh, really? didn't peg you as the military type," you frowned, quickly shaking it off as to not offend him.
"well, it's my dad's thing and im...uh, just keeping up tradition," frank added and you nodded in understanding, taking a sip from your drink
but of course, good things were never built to last for demigods
hey, what do you get when you put a son of poseidon, jupiter, and mars in a cafe??
a fury-ious cafe owner, obvi
(pls laugh or ill cry)
bc they are about to wreck the place
i mean not a single chair or table is upright when they are done
and you were so confused, now covered in water and your hair is all knotted from jason's wind and you were prettyyyyyyy sure at some point frank's arm was a bears arm
which is crazy
oh, and the guy that you thought was just a big softie and that you thought was cute and that bought you coffee?? yeah he stabbed somebody- something????
you weren't entirely sure what he stabbed, but stabbing definitely happened
"hey, are they alright?" percy asked, nodding his head towards you, who was still standing in one spot in shock
"y/n...let's go talk, yeah? i've got some explaining to do," frank whispered, gently, leading you through the mess of chairs and tables and out in the cold air of san francisco
and so the two of you walked aimlessly and now it was frank's turn to talk and your turn to listen
you asked strange questions, that always managed to catch frank off guard and lighten the whole situation
"so...half your dna is like...not real??"
"realistically, no one should be dating anyone in those camps. yall are related, that's disgusting."
"frank...you do understand that it's not normal to train your whole life just in case, maybe, a war comes?? dude, im going to be honest with you, i could not survive ten minutes if a war started, which is normal."
he couldn't help but admire how easily you were to accept this, how quick you were to comfort him about his life
it felt like he'd known you years instead of hours
months instead of minutes
lifetimes instead of seconds
and when you smiled up at him and asked another stupidly strange question, he couldn't help but think that maybe he had known you for lifetimes
that your souls kept playing a fun game of hide and seek
and that he finally found you in this one, his heart thudding and soul giggling as it pulled you from your hiding spot and held you tight in its arms
Oh but hear me out, frank and a daughter of Aphrodite. The children of the mars and Aphrodite, of war and love. What ares and Aphrodite wish they were. Make poor baby frank feel so loved and appreciated completely unconditionally

warning: not any that i can think of!!
author's note: i know i know you said aphrodite, but we keepin it roman here fr fr hope you don't mind!! also I KNOW IT'S THE SAME PIC AGAIN BUT IDK WHY MY BRAIN DIDN'T EVEN CONSIDER DAUGTHER OF VENUS SHIT AND THAT PIC IS JUST SO PERFECT THAT I CANNOT FIND IT IN ME TO CARE-
how you managed to stay soft through all that camp jupiter put you through, frank had no idea but he loved it
you were badass in a fight but the moment training was over, you were using someone's breast plate as a mirror to fix your hair and lipgloss
that's actually how you met frank
reyna called the end of practice and you turned to the closest person and inspected yourself in their armor, reaching up and dabbing at your lip gloss with your ring finger while pushing away fly aways with your other hand
frank refused to move, standing still as statue while you did this
you realized what you were doing, popping but up into a stand position and offering frank a honey-sweet smile
"oh, sorry! thanks for letting me use you as a mirror," you mused, the attractiveness of the guy not lost on you
cutest mirror ive ever seen, you thought and mentally giggled at
"a- any time," replied frank, sort of lost in a daze as he took you in
"im gonna hold you to that," you joked, winking before someone called your name
you were scampering away, throwing a glance and wave over your shoulder at the boy before leaving the arena
frank waved back but far too late, still caught up in just how pretty you were
from that moment on, frank had a plan
what can i say? son of war?? he's gotta know how to strategize sometimes
his big master plan?? seek you out and ask you on a date
i know i know, it sounds kinda a crazy but you gotta trust the process here guys
frank's just a wild, crazy guy i dunno what to tell you
but everyone wanted him to do this as fast as possible
bc they were sick of his yapping about you
"did you see y/n's block today? yeah...she's so cool...and pretty...and-"
"frank...we know. shut up, please."
"did you see y/n's hair today? she definitely was trying something new. should- should i tell her i like it?? is that weird or-"
"frank, she put it in a ponytail. she didn't revolutionize hair-"
"TO ME SHE DID!!!"
his bunkmates are encouraging him to ask you out, simply because if they hear one more thing about you, they're gonna kill frank
little do they know, you guys dating makes it worse
there is no escape from a boyfriend who loves his girlfriend and loves to talk about her
first date? just walking around new rome with coffee
you judge frank for his straight black coffee as you take a sip of your rainbow swirl, whip-cream-crapped-in-a-cup, with spinkles monstrosity that is like three stories high and has cookies stuffed in it...somewhere
frank just takes the teasing, hiding his blush behind his cup
at some point, you grabbed frank's wrist and dragged him towards something, excitedly rambling about whatever it was
and...you just never left go??? your hand slipped from his wrist to his hand and it just...it clicked and it fell into place and it felt right
and now both of you are blushing for the rest of the date but also refusing to let go
big big big fan of walking on the side of the sidewalk with the cars??? ya know what i mean???
like will literally stop the two of you, walk around you to the side with the cars, and then allow you to keep walking
every time he does it, all you can think is that he would rather die to keep you safe
and then you wrapping your arm around his and squeezing into his side with this mushy-gushy smile
he's your number one fan (stalker but in the sweetest way)
oh did you mention one singular time that you hated a certain kind of lip gloss??
oh yeah, no the store that sells that one looking like a pin cushion of arrows is completely unrelated don't even worry about it
will find out your favorite animal and wait until the second or third date to just slip into conversation that he could turn into it, shrugging like its no big deal
it is, in fact, a big deal
your squealing all excitedly before asking quietly if he'd be willing to do it
bro pretends to think it over like he was gonna say no
bffr
look at his lovesick ass and tell me he's not gonna do it
please, don't lie to me rn
within seconds, he's flying around as a bird, or he's flopping around in a fountain as a fish, or he's rubbing into your side as a dog or whatever else
and you're cheering, reaching out to pet his fur or his feathers or his scales
and he's grateful that animals can't blush or stutter out words
will write you love letters and actually sends them in the mail
he pays POSTAGE for the mailman to walk down the street
that mailman always gets so pissed, grumbling about stupid boys in love and slamming the mailbox shut
that's how you know frank sent you something, which leads to you jumping out of bed and running to the mailbox, excitedly ripping it open and stealing the letter before returning to your bunk
and it's always just the sweetest things anyone has ever said another anyone else
rivals shakespeare and jane austen and all those bitches
and it's for your eyes only
you repay frank with romantic gestures
"what are these?" he asked as you presented him with new arrows
"oh, you were complaining about the weight being off so i whittled them down!" you beamed a smile at your awestruck boyfriend
"y/n, there's like fifty of these-"
you polish his arm, remove the feathers and dog hair from his clothes, press kisses to his cheek at every opportunity
you just gotta make sure your boy knows he's loved
and boy does he know when youre around
tbh, i just know frank was always sort of worried love wouldn't find him
what if he's too much like his father?? too rough?? too war-stricken?? too damaged??
what if he's not enough like his mom?
what if-
then you came, showing up without so much as a 'hello' and began wiping away at these thoughts
you showed him that frank zhang is worth of love, esspecially your love
the son of war and the daughter of love together in the softest way
history is a circle fr fr
they just like their mommy and daddy but so much better
to surmise, just a boy who's in love with love's daughter and a girl who's in love with the softest son of war

first date instantly
bro. loves. the. aquarium.
(he just like me fr)
and its like the ideal place for a first date like you can talk about yourselves but also the fish but also get to know each over and also it's beautiful and-
if you can't tell, i love aquariums.
the whole time percy is talking to the fish in his head while also talking to you
its the adhd innit love
(sorry guys just got possessed by a british ghost my bad-)
and the fish are instantly gossiping
"oooo, she's pretty. too pretty for our lord," percy can hear an octopus mutter, causing the boy to glare at it.
"you know i can hear you, right?" he mentally hissed at the octopus, which just blinked at him.
"i stand by what i said, my lord."
"percy, look, he's so cute!" you squeal, pointing over at the octopus percy was currently beefing with
"nah, i've seen better. kinda ugly actually. just like his momma," percy bit out, glaring at the octopus, which shifted slightly closer to the glass, "yeah, i did mention your mom, what about?? oh, yeah, tough guy, you wanna-"
"percy, people are staring," you hissed, wrapping your arms around percy's and attempting to pull him away
"AND IM TELLING MY DAD, YOU LITTLE SHIT-"
"PERCY!"
you drag him to the jellyfish, figuring that was safe
no brain and all
no thoughts to be had
and percy was more than happy to pull you into a kiss in that dark room, the only light coming from behind gallons and gallons of water
he left the jellyfish area with a smile that not even the snidest comment from a shrimp could take away from him
and you were clinging to his arm, blushy and a smile as long as the nile
after another hour and a sweet conversation with an otter, percy dragged you to the gift shop, something about it being the only way to leave
"awww, percy look how cute!" you squealed, your hands instantly shooting forwards and grasping the shark plushie
and percy, ever eager to make you happy, took it from your hands and proudly marched up to the register, despite you trying to stop him
"oh, percy, no, it's okay!! im too old for-"
"too old?? now im definitely buying," he huffed before slamming the shark down on the counter, "one shark plush for the pretty girl please."
cue the blushing mess that is you
and every night, you take that little shark to bed with you and press a kiss to its little head, using it as a little percy fill in
and every morning, when you make your bed, you tuck the little shark in, ensuring it never touches the floor and falls from your bed
your prized possession from the water boy of your dreams
Hi lovely, how are you? Saw your requests were open and took advantage of it ‘cause your writing is too good??? 😤🙌
Anyway, I wanted to request a Leo Valdez x Athena!daughter!reader where the reader is like sick with fever but she is pretty stubborn on not wanting help (literally her fatal flaw) and so she insists that she’s fine and all good until she’s just chilling with Leo in bunker 9 and she collapses. "oh...you don't look good. like, at all," annabeth winced that morning, watching as the other daughter of athena dragged herself out of bed. this comment earned annabeth a glare as the other girl made her way towards the bathroom.
"wow, you're so sweet, annie. good morning to you too! gods, i just woke up-" the girl bit out, sarcastically, before getting cut off by a large sneeze, which left the girl's arm coated in snot. annebeth winced and took a step back, watching as her sister stood there in shock for a moment.
"are you-"
"shut up."
"okay."
despite annabeth's best efforts to get you to rest, you still marched your way out of that cabin, a woman on a mission. her mission? survive the day. preferably without throwing up, but we'll see how the day goes. first order of business; track down leo valdez. you had a multitude of reasons to see the son of hephaestus; he of all people would not send you to the infirmary, he still had some of your scrolls that you'd lent him and...well, you found him attractive. there, you admit it! he's hot, go screw yourself! but as you made the trek towards bunker nine, you were growing exhausted. but gods forbid annabeth be right about another thing. you paused outside the door, coughing up a lung and struggling to get air back into your lungs before taking a huge deep breath. which you breathed out as coughs, once more. huffing, you quite literally shook yourself before walking in, looking around for the boy and nearly tripping over some hammer.
"leo?! you in here?!" you called, clearing your scratchy throat after, shaking your head at the feeling. leo popped out from behind his project, rolling from under neither it and frowning up at you.
"you don't sound like...you."
"thanks, valdez! turning up the charm at ten in the morning, huh?!" you bit back, rolling your eyes. you were growing sick of the comments. actually, you were just sick, but you'd only admit that mentally. leo was still frowning at you, now sitting on the concrete floor as he stared at you, his head tilted and brows furrowed in silent questions.
"y/n-"
"look, rough night, rough morning. im fine, okay? drop it. i'm just here to get my stupid scrolls back and- woah," you stopped your angry rant as you wobbled on your feet, the corner of your eyes growing fuzzy and your brain turning a little muddy and mushy.
"woah is right. you are clearly not fine-" leo insisted, jumping up to his feet and reaching a hand out to you but you stumbled back from him, holding a hand out to keep him back as your other hand went to your forehead.
"i am completely and utter fine-"
before you could finish your lies, your knees buckled and you surely would have smashed against the harsh concrete had it not been for leo shooting forwards to catch you. after that, it was moments of consciousness in between unconsciousness, small memories of leo pulling a blanket up on you, snuggling closer to a pillow. vague memories of throwing up, your hair held back by something that felt similar to a hand. then, you finally blinked your eyes open and they stayed open this time. your eyes were still adjusting, looking around to try and grasp where you were. you saw a random wrench on the floor and knew you had to still be in bunker nine. you looked down, noting you were no longer in the shirt you walked in with but rather one of leos, you could tell from the grease smeared all over it. as you sat up, inspecting the shirt and blushing at the connotation, leo walked in.
"thank the gods! was starting to worry about you," leo huffed, laughing in a way that told you 'starting' was a lie. you could visibly see the tension leaving his shoulders, relaxing at the thought that you were okay.
"sorry," you muttered, digging your hands into the hem of the shirt, twisting and playing with it. leo reached out and settled his hands on top of yours, causing your eyes to look over into his.
"you don't have to apologize. you should look after yourself more but...im, uh, im happy to do it," leo admitted, his confession getting caught in his throat and the tips of his ears turning scarlet. a small smile twitched onto your lips before you pulled one of your hands away and tugged pointedly at your new shirt, raising a brow at the boy.
"oh! yes, sorry, you, er, threw up all over the last one. very attractively, i promise," leo teased, you shaking your head in hopes the blurring motion would cause him to miss your blush, "that's one of mine- also, i didn't change you! it was annabeth, promise!!"
"ugh, you told her i was sick! snitch!" you hissed, slapping his arm before sucking in a labored breath as you were hit with a wave of nausea.
"that's karma right there. abusing me and shit," leo huffed with a joking roll of his eyes before leaning over and grabbing something that was just out of view, "lemme make it up to you."
he presented you with the most delicious looking chicken noodle soup. you were practically drooling as you gently took the soup from him, cradling it to your chest like it was a baby. you looked back up at him with wide eyes and he was already staring at you, a soft smile on his lips before he reached forwards and brushed a loose strand of hair back behind your ear.
"it's my mom's recipe, it always made me feel better as a kid when i was sick. asked the harpies to let me use the kitchen," whispered leo after you took a few bites. instantly, you were melting before the boy at the sweet gesture, sharing a part of his mom with you.
"thank you. for- for everything. honest," you murmured and leo just beamed another soft smile at you.
"of course. i like- i like taking care of you- well," leo kept cutting himself off before breathing out a long breath, "yeah, i like you. like, like-like you. as in-"
"i like-like you too, leo. and not just because you're a good cook," you cut in before he could spiral out of control. and leo looked at you like you were the only thing that ever mattered. he went to lean in but you set a gentle hand against his chest, ever the logical one.
"leo, i'm sick-"
"fuck it. if you think im gonna go another minute without kiss you, you're dumber than i thought," bit out leo, instantly, before cupping your face and pulling you into a smashing kiss. and you couldn't find in you to care that he was gonna get sick, the feeling of his lips against yours and his hands in your hair and your hands against his chest being too addictive.
this boy was turning your brain to mush, something that was surely breaking your mother's heart.
Hiiiii, let me just say I love you writing!!!!! <3
Anyway my request is headcanons of Percy with a child of Erebus s/o. Erebus is the primordial god of darkness.
Like as a child of a primordial they’re extremely powerful and have like shadow powers. They also have really good night vision. They’re like super powerful at night because of all the darkness and a possible blessing of their step-mom Nyx.
Anyway have a good day/night :))))

warning: none!!
author's note: i know the pics are very feminine, but i tried my best to make this gn bc i noticed the 'child' instead of daughter!! i think i did it???? if you guys see any gendered terms, lemme know so i can fix it!! i know this is basically the daughter of nyx one i did but i like nightime escapades okay???? (im actually terrified of the dark and sleep with a nightlight at my grown ass age)
"and what do you think youre doing?" a voice questioned from behind percy, causing him to slip and fall from the brick wall he was just beginning to climb
"ow," he whined, resting a hand against his surely bruised ribs and attempting to look through the darkness at whoever scared him
"sorry! sometimes i forget other people can't see so well in the dark," you laughed lightly, holding your hand out to pull him back to his feet
percy took it, giving you a slightly grateful smile as he was back on his feet
"you must be y/n, then? erebus' kid?" percy questioned, dusking his sweatpants off, suddenly wishing he'd changed into better clothes like he vaguely thought to do
what kind of impression does blue food dye stained sweatpants give???
a bad one, surely.
"yup! the one and only, spooky master of the dark," you mocked all, dramatically, waving your hands around, which percy could just barely make out in the darkness
"great title. i personally go by lord of the seafoam but that's what my enemies call me," percy joked, enjoying your chuckles more than he thought he would
"and what do your friends call you?" you questioned with a tilt of your head.
"oh, also lord of the seafoam. or percy," he winked with a beaming smile that you didn't need night vision to see.
"well, lord of the seafoam, you never answered my question."
"hmm? OH! right, well, you see, my step dad mentioned something about a meteor shower tonight and i was trying to get to bunker nine to sit on the roof to watch it," percy explained with a shrug
"no way! me too! well, i was gonna use the half blood hill, but still!" you replied, bouncing on the balls of your feet in excitement
"actually, could i come with you? you know how leo is, probably still working in there and once he starts yapping, he never stops. i'd probably miss the whole thing," percy lied.
he knew leo was dead asleep and he gave percy a key to bunker nine just so he could watch the meteor shower
but was he really gonna pass up the opportunity to watch it with someone so dashing?? he's stupid, but not that stupid
"yeah, course! c'mon, i got snacks too!" you nodded, instantly, reaching forwards and grasping his wrist and dragging him towards half blood hill
percy was grateful you were leading the way for two reasons: one, he couldn't see for shit in this darkness, and two, it allowed him to hide his blush behind your back.
you'd already set up a place by what used to be thalia's tree, a blanket splayed out and snacks splattered on top
it was a perfect view over camp and of the sky, percy sure it would be difficult to miss the shower now
but, while you guys waited, you and percy couldn't seem to stop talking
the randomest and stupidest stuff
"aliens. yes or no?"
"obvi. hard yes."
"is cereal a soup?"
"technically yes, but i'd like to live in delusion that's it not."
"who do you think-" percy started but got cut off by your hands shooting out and wrapping around his arm
"look, look! it's starting!" you explained, pointing up at some streaking lights through the dark sky
you guys watched in silent awe for a while before percy leaned over to you, which wasn't much of a distance as you still clung to his arm
"why does a shooting star taste better than a comet?" he whispered, his eyes still on the sky
you squinted at him suspiciously but hummed in question
"It's a little meteor."
silence and then the cutest giggles percy's ever heard
"that's so chessy!" you managed to get out between your laughs, basically curled into percy's side
and his smile was beginning to hurt his cheeks
then a comfortable silence settled over the two once more, their eyes drawn back to the fireballs shooting through the sky
well, your eyes were
percy's eyes stayed on you, his blood rushing in his ears and his heart beating like a drum
then you caught him, out of the corner of your eye, biting your lip to keep your smile at bay
you were sure he didn't know you knew, your excellent night vision being the only reason you could see his eyes on you so clearly
then the final meteor flew by and percy started praying for just one more, not wanting the night to end
"this was fun...lord of the seafoam," you mocked, bumping your shoulder with his
percy laughed at the call back, but his heart wasn't in it
he knew this night would end and you guys would just be acquaintances, someone you just wave at as you pass on the way to your cabin, but never another conversation to be had
or that's what percy thought.
"of course, master of the darkness," he tried to joke, trying to hide his disappointment at the ending night, "any time-"
before he could get another mopey word out, you were shooting forwards, a kiss pressed firmly to his cheek
the words died on his tongue
"you know, i think the full moon is tomorrow. do you wanna-"
"yes. totally. let's do it," percy instantly cut in, shaking off your nearly paralyzing touch, the need to see you again enough to break him of any spell or prison.
Hi, can you do a Percy x daughter of persephone headcannons pls
⋆⭒˚.⋆ percy jackson x daughter of persephone! reader hc
content: percy jackson x daughter of persephone! reader hc
warning: painfully hozier coded...that's it
author's note: this one was also fun!! i kinda dove head first into looking at what being a demigod and a child of presephone meant, so the percy love thing kinda got lost but i hope i recovered it??? i still love this one tho!!
oh, daughter of presephone?! did you mean nico's step sister?? i think that's what you meant
he's protective and for what?? bro youre younger, stfu and walk away fr (we like to joke here, nico knows i love him)
tho the last sister percy had been put in charge of didn't end so well...so you can see where the protectiveness comes from.
i would like to formally apologize for that last one-
on a real note tho that's something that keeps percy up at night
he doesn't want to fail you, doesn't want to put you in any situation where your life is at risk, if you so much as get a scratch he's tearing everything down brick by brick
you're his precious flower girl
and he's willing to kill for you if it means you're safe
it also doesn't help that you really are lacking in the powers domain
you're like a diluted child of demeter (hey, gram-gram) with a minor affinity for graveyards.
that might be where the overprotectiveness comes from, this interpretation of weakness.
they're dead wrong, btw
you could topple cities, if you weren't such a diplomat
during the fall and winter, you make frequent visits with nico to the underworld, helping your mother keep her garden up and your step father with the diplomacy that comes with the underworld.
during the spring and summer, you're not allowed to go, as your mother isn't present. both hades and nico think this rule is stupid, but can't really fight it.
hades really do be losing his wifey and his beloved princess of daughter all at once. damn major L for his ass
anyways, we've lost the plot, back to percy
on the first date, percy made the mistake of getting flowers
typically, this wouldn't be a problem, any girl would kill to receive flowers
but the moment you opened your door and revealed percy with his bundle of flowers, tears began to pool in your eyes and you took them from his hand with a minor glare
"you killed them! they were living just fine and equally as beautiful but then you stomped up with your shears and you cut their heads off!" you cried, walking deep into your cabin and producing a plant pot from some closet, freeing the flowers from the butcher paper and shoving them into the dirt.
"w-what?" percy sputtered, following after you, slightly concerned that he might have completely fumbled this whole thing.
"you're lucky, jackson, that my momma isn't here or she'd have your ass. just picking flowers left and right," the girl continued to grumble before shoving her hands into the dirt with the flowers.
nothing happened for a moment then more sprouts grew in the pot, flowers beginning to grow to match the flowers that percy had brought for her.
percy just stared, not shocked, by trying to figure out how to recover from this massive mistake.
don't worry, he won you over
and, he never bought you flowers again, rather opting to bring you potted plants and seeds
he learned his lesson alright.
nico wasn't exactly the biggest fan of this relationship in the beginning but he knew there wasn't really much he could do.
plus, he could see how happy percy made you, the flowers in your cabin growing faster and bigger and more vibrant.
if anyone made his sister that happy, he'd allow them to stay around for just a bit longer.
on quests with you, percy always carried fruit, which you probably loved more than him
"we should probably stop soon, get something to eat," you'd say with a shrug
"okay, cool. so, i've got oranges, apples, that weird pink one that's white and black on the inside and pomegranates. you want something else?? i'm sure there's a store around here somewhere," he'd reply instantly, somehow managing to pull all of these fruit from the pocket of his hoodie and holding them out to her.
tbh every winter and fall when you aren't around, bro gets mopey
he misses his blossom and it doesn't help that all the plants are matching his mood
he'd rather be six feet under and shaking hands with your step father than anywhere that you aren't.
author's note cont. : another day, another hc collection bc i am a menace and cannot be stopped wahahahahahaha god i love writing this is so much fun!!
Summery: Timmy is an artist living in Paris in the 1950′s. You come to him to model for a painting but you have an unusual demand for the artist; there are certain things that are forbidden.
Themes: Artist!Timmy. Period drama. I bit angsty. Don’t really know how to theme this one quite frankly.
part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4
this series is finished
On your second session he makes you laugh. He hands you a whiskey and soda and you get undressed to change into a Cobalt blue robe. This time Sam Cooke is playing on the record player and a golden afternoon light fills the room. He paints you until the sun sets then he takes you out for dinner at the brasserie across the street. You discuss Hemingway at length, argue a little over your preference of Monet over Picasso, thought you both agree that Picasso is better than Matisse.
It’s too early in the season to sit outdoors this late, so you’ve squeezed yourself into a corner table at the back of the brasserie. The room is buzzing, every table occupied and hurried servers are balancing trays of food and wine through the cigarette smoke filled room. Most guests are talking and laughing. Some are singing, loudly, cheerfully and out of tune.
“You should listen more to classical music” you tell him in a mock stern voice as you sip your wine.
“Oh, should I now?” he leans back in his chair, looking as effortlessly careless and happy as you spent most your life pretending to be.
“Yes, all this old jazz and then the modern music you’ve got going on, it’s like you’ve never even heard of Chopin”.
He scrunches his nose in mock-disgust “Chopin?”
You hold up a warning finger. “Not a bad word about Chopin, or you’ll finish this painting with another model. Chopin is off limits, Chopin is holy” You’re just playing with him and he knows it, he laughs and holds up his hands in defeat. “Alright, alright, I mean I guess he’s better than Liszt, but he’s no Mendelssohn.”
“Oh, you cannot be serious, god damn Mendelssohn?”
“What do you have against Mendelssohn?”
“His music”
He laughs. You laugh too. Somewhere in the city bells are ringing.
Summary → Part Two of Best Friend , Timothée is too late in telling you how he feels. Instead, someone else does it for themself. Based off Heather by Conan Gray.
AN → Dedicated to and inspired by the idea @serialghost left on part one :)

Warnings → Strong Language, Alcohol

Her name was Inez.
She had ink black hair and skin a sultry shade of bronze. Everything—from the curve of her nose, to the flutter of her eyelashes. She had the sort of looks that made other people envious, that made other people stop and stare longingly.
Inez wasn’t a bad person, that was the worst part.
Timothée sat idly, remembering that chilly December night in his apartment. The night he’d been so close to telling you how he felt, how he’d been in love with you for years. You were sitting on his couch in nothing but his own oversized black crewneck and sleep shorts. A Christmas movie was playing on the TV, snow coating all of New York City beneath you.
He was so close, the words were right there. You stared at him so intently, waiting for him to say something. Little did he know, you had that same small glint of hope, that minuscule ‘what if.’ He couldn’t see it, but you felt it. The disappointment when he said no such thing came quickly. He only shook you off, mumbling a quick ‘never mind.’
Inez came two months later, she was working on a modeling shoot with you. It was like some crazy coincidence, she wasn’t even supposed to be on the set at the same time as you, but she ended up coming early. You both hit it off rather quickly, she told you how much she admired your work and style.
Once again, there he was, pretending to be happy about you meeting someone new. He thought it would be like all of those times before, but it wasn’t. There was a second date, and a third, and a fourth, and at some point she was moving in with you.
And he watched.
Timothée could see how in love you were, he could see how happy she made you. It only made him wonder why you would’ve ever given him a chance. He was jealous, truly and incandescently jealous of Inez. He envied her for several things, but most of all he envied the way you looked at her. He knew you’d never looked at him like that. Not really, anyway.
And she was so kind.
Inez was impossible to hate. She made it a priority to smile as much as she could, she donated to charity, she spent her Christmas nights volunteering. She was absolutely fucking perfect. And she loved you, she really loved you.
“Do you love her?” Timmy asked you one night, watching you cook dinner from his kitchen island. “Inez, I mean. Do you love her?”
You stilled for a moment, he found himself feeling selfish in wishing you’d say no. A smile spread across your face and he knew what you’d say. How couldn’t you love her?
“I do, yeah.”
After a year together, he truly couldn’t help thinking that was that. He’d have to move on, but how could he? He helped move all of your boxes into a bigger, newer apartment in Brooklyn. Inez had kissed his cheek and told him how grateful she was that you had such a devoted friend. She wasn’t like Laila in the way Laila saw beneath his facade, or maybe she was. Perhaps Inez pitied him in a way that Laila did not.
He helped name the dog you’d bought together, mounted a TV in your new living room for fucks sake. And he did it because he’d never seen you happier, not ever. You were truly mesmerized.
It wasn’t until he got a phone call one night, sitting up in bed and seeing your face pop up on caller ID. He answered to hear you crying, except it wasn’t that heart wrenching cry he’d heard too many times. This was a joyful cry, happy sniffles coming through the speaker.
“She asked me to marry her, T,” you squealed into the phone. “Can you believe it?”
Timothée could’ve swore he felt a literal crack within his chest, lips parting at your words. He felt his pulse in his fingertips, eyes closing a moment. He really hoped it was a bad dream, but he knew when he heard you say his name again that it was real.
“No,” he rasped. “I can’t believe it.”
Suddenly, he remembered each and every time he could’ve told you how he felt. He recalled all of those late nights, all of those slumber parties spent in his bed. He’d been the one holding your hair back, he’d been the one running you baths, he’d been the one making sure you had some orange juice with your Advil after a night of partying.
He could tell you, he thought.
He could grow a pair and open his mouth right now. You weren’t too far gone, it wasn’t too late. He thought of how he’d say it a million times, the exact words he’d use. It would be so simple. Only three words. I love you.
But it was too late.
Inez was the one. He knew it as well as anyone else. And he’d lost his chance. He let all of those nights waste away into nothing. It was his own stupidity that landed him here, his own cowardice. Maybe it wasn’t so bad, he thought. Maybe this was better than losing the best friend he’d ever had.
Or maybe he would hate himself for the rest of his life.
He’d have to watch you do all of the things he wanted to do with you. There would be a big house with those blue shutters you always talked about, and there would be another dog. You and Inez wouldn’t model forever, you’d eventually move out of the city.
What about in ten years? Would you have kids? Would he even still know you?
“I’m happy for you, Y/N.”
The words came out dry, head throbbing with an ache he could only assume would not be leaving him anytime soon. He could practically hear your smile through the phone.
Only then did he do the same thing he’d been doing for years, he sat back against his headboard and listened to you go on and on about how happy you were with someone else.

“Yeah, well—he’s an asshole, Y/N.”
Scoffing, you sipped the martini in front of you and looked back over your shoulder. Timothée was leaned against the bar beside you, the award show after party was buzzing with excitement and celebration. Your satin slip dress collected itself mid thigh, a low neckline and shiny black heels.
Timmy had stripped himself of his jacket, left in black slacks and a white undershirt. His hair was sticking up, all of the red carpet makeup having worn off already. The lights were flashing dazedly, celebrities grinding on each other like it was their day job.
He’d only invited you to come as his guest, as a model, you weren’t very likely to turn up at random movie premieres and award shows. Having one of Hollywood’s biggest rising actors as a close friend made for an easy plus one, though. Nine out of ten times, he’d invite you to come to big black tie functions where you’d be able to mingle with some of the most established and famous celebrities in the industry.
Most nights like these, you’d end up in some stranger’s bed by morning with a terrible hangover. Timothée never seemed to mind, or at least it didn’t seem like he minded. Maybe a little, both of you sending fleeting glares at an ex-boyfriend from a while back that stood parallel to you.
“Huge dick, though,” you told him.
“I didn’t need to know that.”
He threw back another shot. His cheeks had flushed quite easily, pupils dilated as he stared back at you. Nothing felt more natural to you, but he was getting seemingly more agitated. You leaned into his arm a bit drunkenly, looking up at him and giving a sly smile. His expression softened a bit, sending a soft grin back at you.
Timothée cursed himself internally, knowing he couldn’t be mad at you for not feeling the same about him. He’d gone out with other girls, the occasional hookup, even a few second and third dates. None of it ever truly compared to nights in with you. His stomach lurched every time you’d call him, ranting endlessly about the next person you’d been fucking.
He wanted what he couldn’t have. Truth was, he wanted you in all of the ways he wasn’t supposed to want you. At this point, it had exceeded a small crush. He was truly afraid he was falling in love with you, but seemingly more terrified of the fact that you’d always be so incredibly oblivious.
“You guys broke things off over a year ago, the last time you saw him was that birthday party in Calabasas,” Timothée reminded you.
“I remember that, well—I remember Laila,” you chuckled. “If anyone could make me fall in love in a night, it’d be her.”
Laila was an ex-girlfriend, a serious one at that. Very few of your relationships worried Timmy, most weren’t serious or very exclusive. Laila, though—she was the type of girl a person married, and funny enough, she saw right through him. Never did she mention it to Y/N, but she knew Timothée was practically groveling at your feet.
She’d even confronted him about it, but he denied any romantic feelings. A few months later, the breakup happened and it was one of the hardest things he’d ever helped you through. Nothing really could have compared to how broken you were. After that, you both grew increasingly closer.
“You ever miss her? Laila?” He asked suddenly, words slurring together a bit.
“Yeah, but she’s happier now. I think I needed to let her go for her to be happy, needed her to let me let her go.”
A silence fell between the both of you, comfortable, yet tension filled at the same time. He looked over at you, studying the curve of your jaw, flutter of your lashes, depth of your laugh as you watched a few friends across the room. And maybe he was too drunk to think straight, or maybe he was just too stupid to care.
“Y/N, I have to—”
“I fucking love this song,” you laughed unknowingly.
Throwing an arm around his shoulder, you leaned into him further and pressed a sloppy kiss to his cheek. He had completely ceased talking, watching you smile at him so devotedly. With this, you took the opportunity to slip away and into the clusters of large people dancing.
“That’s tough, man,” the bartender said out of nowhere. “Take this, on the house. You look like you need it.”
He took the shot, letting the burning liquid spill down his throat. You had migrated over to a few people, arm around one of them just as it had been around him. You were carrying your drink in a free hand, shouting over the loud music blaring behind you.
How couldn’t he be absolutely entranced? You were the epitome of carefree, wild, and fun. Somehow, he found that you always knew the right thing to say and do. From the way you laughed, to the way you talked, to the way you would look at him so yearningly. Sometimes he thought you might feel the same, other times he was sure you’d rather die than have any sort of romantic feelings towards him.
Unrequited love.
It’s romanticized until you’re watching the person you care most about with someone else. It’s doted upon until you’re feeling a drop in your stomach, seeing her head lull onto his shoulder like that. There was nothing beautiful about loving someone who would never love you back, he thought. There was only hurt. God knows, he was looking at you—the way you tilted you head back so easily to laugh, the narrow-eyed smirk you were giving whoever you were close to—he was looking at you, and he was hurting.

author's note: okay okay i did my research on psyche for this one and just...awwwwwww wtf its so sweet her and eros like wtfffffff why can't i have a tragic greek love yall doom me with the narrative i beg
you have bewitched him, body and soul
drawn in instantly
im sorry but you would be too if you heard of a girl that could basically heal all of your trauma
very popular among the demigods for that reason
borderline harassed and forced into help ease the emotional pain that a lot of them suffer from
and you wanted to help, truly you did, but it was hard when it took so much out of you
but you just pushed through, wanting the others to feel peace even if it cost you your own
you did it out of your cabin, as you knew chiron would try and stop you, scheduling times for them to sneak in and out
you were on your eight demigod of the day, your vision fuzzy but your hands out stretched as you needed a point of contact to heal them
but then instead of grasping your hands, the fuzzy blob in front of you gripped your shoulders
you could just make out dark hair and what looked to be green eyes before your body gave out on you
after what felt like hours, your eyes fluttered open, and you could feel your ladybug pillowpet under your head, which you turned towards the door of your cabin
there percy stood, shooing away another camper
"but-"
"look at her. she'll kill herself to keep you all happy. let her rest. i won't ask again," percy hissed before closing the door, shaking his head as he approaching you, kneeling beside your bed
"welcome back to the land of the living."
"who was that? are they alright?! i'm sure i could-"
"and i'm sure you could, too. but i won't let ya. you're off for the rest of the week," percy argued and raised a brow at you as you opened your mouth to argue.
you swallowed your argument, nodding your head and offering him a soft smile, which he returned
that was the first time you met and from that point on, it was hard to find one without the other
it got worse once you two started dating
percy might as well have glued his hand into your back pocket of your jeans, as it seemed to never leave
and no matter how much you offer, percy refuses to let you use your powers on him
he thinks it would be an abuse of his position as boyfriend
what he doesn't know, is while he sleeps with his head in your lap and you comb your fingers through his dark hair, you do little spurts of it
nothing major or serious enough for him to notice, but just to give him a little peace of mind here and there
but, for her birthday, once everyone else had left, you offered your services up to sally
percy had told you enough about gabe to leave you, every the pacificist, raging and seething with anger
sally was hesitant but agreed, you two sitting criss cross apple sauce in her bedroom on some rug paul had insisted on
you took her hands into yours and talked through the process, which you typically didn't do with the demigods
you walked her through her own emotions, why she was feeling that, why she dealt with that the way she did, how she might do better next time
you were both crying not even half way through
she pulled you into the tightest hug after, thanking you so many times you lost count
then she sent you home with a boat load of cookies, which she made percy swear on his father not to steal
you were sweet enough to give him a third of your ration, but that's it!! (he ended up with a half, bc you love that boy far too much)
he finds it very amusing to be like 'she's an empath ' at inappropriate times
"she just killed two monsters"
"she's an empath"
"percy! you're girlfriend is crying bc mr. d won't give her another marshmallow!"
"what can i say, she's an empath."
"hey, is that your girlfriend?? she's currently hugging a tree and refuses to let go because she thinks it was a lover in a past life."
"she's an empath- wait, what?"
idk but you are very jane austen coded, you just are
soft and ancient loves are sooooo you!!
those kind of loves where their souls are clearly tied in a neat little bow
percy buys you all those fancy cover versions of the books, making sure they match your aesthetic and all the things
just a boy being protective over his soft babygirl idk what to tell you
hi babes!! if possible, could i request selene stamps for the event? your write up of those headcanons with a daughter of selene and percy really convinced me to look into her and now i am truly caught between her and nyx as to who i think my godly parent would be
thank you!!! 🌙
(this is drwns by the way)
of course!!! now serving one daughter of nyx meets daughter of selene 😘😘
Would you mind writing a Fic about daughter of Selene and son of Poseidon, Percy? And their Relationship is sort off based off how the moon affects the ocean tides?

content: percy jackson x daughter of selene! reader hcs
warning: language as per usual
author's note: i made it hcs bc i didn't feel like i had enough plot to make a fic and a blurb wouldn't do this fun prompt justice so this is what we get folks!!!
bro is quite literally drawn to you
can't stay away
you just keep pulling him in
if you have a good day, he has a good day
if you have a bad day, he has a bad day
you affect this dude in ways you don’t even know
what can he say, he's an empath
just for you tho
listens to 'moon song' by phoebe bridgers and crys bc he thinks of you
oh, and 'moon river' by frank ocean
oh and basically any other song that mentions the moon
will def send you constants texts like,
'you look just like your momma. beautiful.'
this is followed by the most beautiful picture of the moon you've ever seen
this bitch got you in yo feels
also sally is adopting you without a doubt
you are now her precious moon child, no arguing or stopping it now
you both get into some crazy shit at night
like, no, officer, we did not break into sea world and free the sharks, sir, why would we do that???
actively wearing sea world shirts that still have the tags on
sally and paul laughed the whole time bailing you guys out of jail
also, i like to imagine you're more active at night, so that makes you a sleepy girl during the day and percy is just your walking pillow
you can take a nap nearly anywhere and that includes percy's shoulder as he's trying to pay attention to whatever will is trying to teach them about healing but he can't focus with your breath puffing out against his neck
and then even when the class is over, he refuses to move and wake you up
would actually rather die than wake you up
also i like to image that you glow at night similarly to apollo kids but in silver tones
which is why your name in percy's phone is glowstick
he finds it amusing
you, not so much
also percy has grown very fond of night swims since getting with you
just you and him, floating somewhere in the lake and letting the only light being from the moon
he finds it calming and so do you
this, upon a joking dare, would turn into skinny dipping one night but thats a story for another day fr
let's just say you two also accidently became streakers that night too
chiron was not happy
the hermes cabin thought it was very amusing, seeing as they were the ones who stole your clothes in the first place.
the night swims ended after that, in fear of another streaking incident
everytime percy's back home for school, he fr goes out on the balcony and plays 'talking to the moon' by bruno mars (cheesy mfer)
and cries bc he misses you
and i just know your mommas laughing at him from her spot at the moon
im the person who asked about the vague thing, and i mainly asked cause im terrible at specific prompts/requests(?? is there a difference idk) LMAOAOSOS
BUT BUT HERES THE REQUEST!!!! percy jackson x gn reader hurt/comfort??
TY FOR DOING THIS IF YOU DO LOVELY 🫶🫶🫶
thank you so much!!! and of course!
here’s a little something while I work on pt 2 of golden! sorry for the wait, I’ve been super overwhelmed with school n extracurricular stuff :(( cw: violence and fear
frosted glass (percy jackson x reader)
The fluorescent lights are making your eyes water.
“Look. Look!”
An unforgiving hand grabs you by the face and turns you to him. You meet sea-green eyes, narrow and seething.
“You did this, Perseus. All for that little potion.”
You know you look bad. Your cheekbone is painted an ugly purple, eyes bruised with bags. Crusted blood tracks from your nose. It itches. Your throat burns. “No,” you force out through your teeth, breathing hard. “This wasn’t your fault—”
Knuckles knock against your teeth, sudden and biting, and an ache blooms across your top lip. That’ll swell, you think, and you can feel it start to.
“Just hand it over, and we’ll let you both go.”
Percy doesn’t have the bottle. You do — a small glass vial filled with golden, syrupy liquid. It brings someone back to life, if only for a few minutes. Chiron needs it urgently, but so does this boy.
He looks only a little older than the two of you, with wiry blonde hair and vengeful eyes that glint a brilliant blue. He wants— no, needs to speak with his mother. He’s an Ares kid, if you remember correctly, and a deserter. If you’d had two vials, you’d share it. But in his desperation, his love for his mother had turned into hatred for you, and he was, after all, his father’s son. Rage was in his blood. He punches you again.
Percy lunges forward, but there are arms threading under his and locked on either side of his head, so he’s not going anywhere. He looks so angry it would've scared you if you hadn’t known that he’d never hurt you, not even if his life depended on it.
Your head bounces off the ground as you’re thrown down. Percy lunges again, but this time he breaks free and rushes to you.
“Are you okay?” He’s saying before he even kneels. You were bracing yourself up on your forearms, having fallen face first. He turns you forward gently, helping you into a sitting position.
“Mhm,” you hum. “I’m fine.”
You’re not fully sure where you are. You’d been woken up by a punch to the jaw, and you hadn’t had much time to take stock of your surroundings since then. It looks like the back room of some sort of convenience store; the walls are lined with rusted shelves that are stocked with vibrant packaging. The only illumination comes from greenish can lights.
Percy thumbs the blood from your lip. You wince. “Sure you are, hun.”
“Real cute.” The blond drawls. He’s probably about to make some sort of stupid wisecrack, but then the door jingles. It sounds like the bells that are attached to the front door of stores, further reinforcing your theory.
The boy exchanges a look with his friends. Suddenly, you’re being pulled away from Percy. You kick and curse him in the name of everything under Olympus, but a hand is clamped over your mouth and damn, this guy can’t even be that much older than you, yet you’re completely overpowered. You hate the feeling. A muffled sob tumbles forth.
The blonde stares real hard at you for a moment. “Don’t go anywhere,” he finally says, and slips through the frosted glass door.
“How can I help you?” You can hear him say after a moment.
“Oh, I think you know how.”
The voice is strangely familiar. A dangerous tangle of hope, relief, and fear swells in your throat.
“Pardon?”
“Where are they?”
There’s a pause, and then a dull thud.
Then silence.
Its unbearable, almost. To have help so near. At least, you hope it’s help. If it’s not, you're screwed.
The hand tightens around you, a warning.
You’ll take your chances.
You bite down, hard enough to taste blood. The kid shrieks. You’d almost feel bad if he wasn’t totally beating you up earlier.
The door is kicked open, and you don’t remember much after that.
He remembers it clearly, though. It went something like this:
You stumbled forward and Percy caught you. He tried to hold you up— he really did try, but neither of you was strong enough. The two of you fell together, all buckled knees and shaking hands.
“It’s okay,” he mumbled, breathless, as he tried to get a grip on you.
You were in his arms — cold and trembling, he could feel the damp patches in the fabric of your shirt where you were bleeding; but you were clinging to him and he was clinging to you and none of it mattered because you were here. You were here and you were alive, and for a moment, everything was alright again.
percy jackson is a nuisance. a nuisance you have always been fond of, some way, somehow. (5.6k)
contains: percy jackson x daughter of aphrodite! reader. post tlo (spoilers). kind of melancholy but it gets better (kind of). book percy.
kashaf’s note: guess whos alive!
TO QUESTION, to ponder, to seek out the gods is sacrilegious. the gods preferred their divinity to be kept strictly within the confines of worship — whether by completing their ‘menial’ tasks or by committing sacrifices, they, in their infinite wisdom, are not allowed to be objected to.
“so, my mom’s a god? of love?”
you sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose, and mentally counted to three. opening your eyes, you make eye contact with the newest addition to camp, and your newest responsibility. bruised and scuffed, the poor kid blinks back at you confusedly as you mull your options. “yes, and no,” you decide.
“our mom’s a goddess, and love is just the most common of her jurisdictions.”
the new camper looks around the cabin, taking it in, you follow their gaze, lingering on the painted swans on the wall behind you, and bouncing to the pearls adorning the vanity, littered with various seashell trays holding gold jewelry (the first time you had entered these very walls, your throat had tightened at the pure ostentatiousness of it all).
they glance back at you, confused. you sighed again, “yes, our mom is the goddess of love.”
“oh.”
the candles residing in conches flicker as if waiting to pass judgment, and silence blankets you and the new camper once more (this is potentially your fiftieth time attempting to explain the same concept, yet you’re no better at it than when you first started — shaking and solemn).
needless to say, it’s more than just difficult to explain this tacit rule to new campers — after whatever tragic event transpired for them to realize that the greek gods of myth and legend indeed exist, they simply don’t have the mental capacity to learn the unspoken rules of the whole being a demigod thing.
you could be warmer, somehow, you suppose, with your mother being the goddess of love and all — in all honesty, you’re still not sure how you became the aphrodite cabin counselor, over selina (the entirety of camp half-blood’s favorite daughter of aphrodite) but the counselorship would have ended up in your hands anyway, after everything (the sight of her once-beautiful face as she coughed up blood in clarisse’s lap swims across your memories).
you pinched the bridge of your nose again, sighing as the candles snuffed out all at once of their own accord (judgment has been passed), “take the empty bed in the corner, we get up at like the ass crack of dawn so you might wanna catch up on your sleep.”
you watched the kid sit on the bed (looking every bit out of place as you did when you first arrived amidst the sheer indulgence the cabin is), and you can’t help but feel a pang in your chest as the child (the entire camp is full of children, but the vast majority of you have never gotten the chance to be the children that you are) stared wide-eyed at posters of movie stars, like tristan mclean, adorning the walls.
with one last glance and forlorn smile at the kid, you walked out of your cabin, your expression hardening at the sight of other campers. the walk to the arena is a short yet bleak one, in the silence you can hear drew’s screaming ringing in your ear (drew is preferable to hearing your other half-siblings, ethan, or even luke; drew is alive).
in the middle of the sword-fighting lesson being taught, you slipped into the arena, undetected for the most part except for the pair of sea-green eyes trained on your figure as you came and stood next to him, clearly hanging back.
“this is usually your shit, jackson,” you say, ignoring how pitiful your racing heart is, and watching clarisse at the helm, steam blowing out of her ears as new campers fell over themselves trying to parry and block with wooden swords.
percy turns to look at you, and from the corner of your eye, you can sense the storm brewing across his face. “maybe i’m not the attention whore you think i am,” he snorts, and there is a small trace of bile in his voice, but you don’t focus on that.
instead, your face burns at the memory of your last argument after you dove in front of ethan’s knife (you still wince when you remember the way his visible eye widened when he realized it was you who caught the blow), and percy’s bitterness as will patched you up, what the fuck is wrong with you, you could’ve gotten yourself killed.
and your weak but indignant reply, i literally saved your life, asshole. are you that much of an attention-whore that you need to be the one on their deathbed right now?
“i’d say you kind of are,” you say, turning to meet his gaze (for a brief, stupid, second you wonder if somehow he was a son of zeus because of how the air suddenly became charged with electricity), arms folding across your chest. “the whole making the gods pay child support is a bit attention-whore-esque.”
percy laughed, a sound you and the other campers haven’t heard in a while (it’s different from before but it is still a sound that in your weaker moments, you admit to craving to hear). “someone had to do it,” he says, sobering up immediately.
“luke tried,” you whispered (the name is still taboo around camp), shivering as you felt percy stiffen beside you. a beat passes and the resulting silence is suffocating.
percy offers you a sad, tight smile before walking out of the arena. you watch him go with a strange pain in your chest and a longing for the before, the laughter leaping across the sun-drenched strawberry fields, the joking i told you so’s during meals, and the softness of the campfire sing-a-longs.
it’s hard not to blame the gods, for that is blasphemy, but on most nights, you find yourself uttering your mother’s name with a tangible acidity, and you find that you’re not alone in this sentiment. the once-reverent echoes of aphrodite, promise me true love, promise me victory, promise me beauty, have now faded to lifeless whispers — formalities instead of prayers.
even your own prayers are different now, you pray for the sea — if your mother is allowed to be ambiguous with her gifts (curses) then she must expect the same ambiguity in your prayers in return. when you’re done half-heartedly muttering your prayers and sacrificing your food, your gaze meets a familiar pair of sea-green eyes across the campfire, glowing like a beacon in the dark.
standing up, you find drew, looking every bit as perfect as ever. you lean down to whisper, “lights out at eleven, i’ll be back.”
drew nods, squeezing your hand before she begins herding the rest of your half-siblings back to your cabin, solemn and toneless (an empty shell compared to the once vibrant and snarky drew from before).
the walk to the beach is silent, although you know that you’re being followed — you didn’t survive the war being complacent. when you finally do arrive, the mysterious figure reveals himself in the moonlight (again, you’d be a fool to not recognize the son of poseidon’s careful footsteps).
percy looks every bit of a character straight out of a tragic romance novel that your mother probably inspired, and again your heart squeezes painfully at the sight of him — under the scars and the jaded attitude, he is still the same percy jackson with stars in his eyes when he first introduced you to his mother.
“why do the naiads call you that?” percy asks abruptly, tilting his head to the side as if studying you as he approaches.
barely audible accusations of apatu’ria bubble at the surface of the lake like seafoam; the whispers have followed you since you arrived at camp, and you have never known why.
“call me what?” you ask, feigning ignorance as iterations of deceitful replay across your mind.
percy blinks, confused, “isn’t your mother related to the sea somehow? don’t you know they call you apatu’ria?”
you fiddle with the gold bracelet on your wrist (a gift from selina), percy’s gaze follows the movement as you hesitate. “well, yeah, like i know what it means but i don’t know why they call me that.”
percy shrugged, shoving his hands into the pocket of his jeans. “they call me ‘prosklystios’ a lot,” he said (in the way that he knows you, better than you know yourself).
“so what, we’re just reduced to epithets of our parents? what an honor,” you mumbled sarcastically, staring out at the lake, watching its surface ripple as the accusations grew more fervent. you paid it no mind however, the burden of being a daughter of aphrodite had already claimed its weight on your shoulders.
“careful,” percy sighed, his gaze focusing on you instead of the water, “might’ve just won a war but that won’t stop either of us from being smited if big guy in the sky thinks we’re being impertinent.”
distant thunder rumbled overhead as if proving his point.
“speak for yourself, pretty boy,” you say, eyes looking toward the firmament littered with stars, incognizant of your admission, “if i got the gods to basically pay child support without being sent to tartarus, i would do whatever the fuck i wanted.”
percy being percy, of course, did not register that last bit of your sentence, a shit-eating grin forming across his face, a slight red hue tinging his cheeks, “you think i’m pretty.”
you turn to look at him, ignoring how your heart hammers at the way he’s smiling down at you, you roll your eyes. “percy,” you say slowly. “my mom is the goddess of love, everyone’s gorgeous in her eyes.”
“yeah, but not everyone’s gorgeous in your eyes.”
gods, he was so aggravating but the way his eyes twinkled and the genuine elation on his face almost made you admit defeat.
you crossed your arms over your chest, narrowing your eyes at him, “this is why i never compliment you, you always let it go to your head.”
“aw, c’mon, you love me for it though,” percy says, still grinning widely, his unruly black hair falling into place perfectly.
“you’re an actual attention-whore,” you say, spinning around on your heels and trekking across the sand, leaving percy alone to stare out at the water. you walk back to camp, ignoring percy’s calls of wait punctuated by his laughter as he jogs up behind you.
“i hope mr. d catches you out past curfew and the harpies eat you,” you say deadpan, once percy has caught up to you.
“you’d miss me too much and would come to be my hero, again,” percy smirks at you, following along as you head toward aphrodite cabin (you’re secretly very glad for his presence, you hate walking around camp when it’s this deserted — the memories that you tried so desperately to bury try to claw their way to the surface).
“just because i caught a knife for you, once, does not mean that i’ll ever do it again,” you say, folding your arms across your chest as you stand outside the door of your cabin. “getting stabbed is not a ten out of ten experience.”
percy softens, his impish grin still there, but the intensity of his gaze is enough to make you melt, “good, can’t have you dying on me.”
you snorted, “even if i did die, i’d tell nico to raise my ghost so i could haunt you forever.”
percy’s still smiling, his eyes are still soft, and he’s so close to you right now. “go out with me,” he says, suddenly, earnestly.
blood rushes to your ears. “what?” you blinked, staring at him as if he’d grown another head.
percy shrugged, leaning forward to press a feather-light kiss to the crown of your head. you barely registered the action in your mind, trying to regain your ability to form coherent sentences as you watched him. percy looked away from your questioning gaze. “better go before the harpies eat me,” he said before jogging in the direction of his cabin.
he leaves you standing in front of your cabin door, frozen in shock for another five minutes, before you shake it off, and head inside, convincing yourself that you had imagined the entire encounter. the familiar scent of jasmine envelops you as you linger in the doorway. drew is still awake on her bed, her back pressed against the wall and her head in her arms. she doesn’t bother to look up at your entry until you’re sat next to her, curling an arm around her bony shoulders and pulling her into an embrace.
the two of you sit in silence as drew attempts to calm her heartbeats to sync with yours, her head resting on your shoulder as you rub soothing circles into the planes of her shoulder. you fall asleep in a tangled mess of limbs, a desperate attempt to close the gaping hole selina left in her wake. this is sisterhood, you think when you wake up and drew’s head weighs like lead on your shoulder.
the bright morning does little to assuage your burdens — you know it’s going to be a long day as soon as you hear campers giggling. rule number one of being a camp counselor: no matter how benign, giggling is the number one sign of trouble.
you took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before turning to the younger half of your half-siblings currently in the process of attempting arts and crafts. “what the fuck do you guys keep giggling about?”
your half-siblings only giggle harder.
after what seemed like eons, the new camper finally comes up to you — a kid no older than eight, who motions for you to bend down before they begin stage-whispering in your ear, “is percy jackson your boyfriend?”
you immediately feel scandalized, jerking away like you’ve been burned, “no, who said that?”
(when you’re being lulled to sleep by the sound of drew’s imperceptible snoring in your ear, your subconscious spends its time lingering, dwelling on could’ve been’s, and should’ve been’s, the obsession as stubborn as when you refused to believe that percy had actually died on mount st helens.)
the kid continues to smile ‘innocently’, “everyone says that you guys hold hands at campfires.”
sudden flashes of percy’s unyielding grip on your hand and his broad smile, as he forced you into a sing-a-long with him, rise to the forefront of your mind, but that was before — when annabeth still had a steely look in her eyes, when travis and connor’s antics still garnered laughs from everyone (and a rare amused glance from mr. d). now (the after), there is no such jocularity, and percy is kept at arm’s length, reduced to offering you sad smiles across the campfire.
“we do not hold hands at campfires,” you say, struggling to keep the disdain out of your voice.
“but there’s a ‘we’,” the kid says, scrutinizing you up and down.
you have to mentally count to three so that you don’t end up arguing with a literal child (it’s not a great way to prove that your sanctity is still intact). “there’s no we.”
the kid shrugs in an if you say so gesture, giving you one last weirdly knowing look before turning back to their arts and crafts. a weighty silence settles, punctuated only by the sounds of scissors and rustling papers.
stares and loud whispers follow you around camp, more so than usual for an aphrodite kid — clarisse finds you in the midst of it all, lost in thought when her cabin is supposed to be pulverizing apollo cabin at volleyball, a sharp glint in her eye.
“you’d tell if me you were dating prissy, right?” she says, her hand faintly closing around your elbow, pulling you out of your reverie.
“what are you talking about?” you say, eyebrows raising in shock. this wasn’t your first rodeo — just before the war this summer, camp gossip had credited you to be going out with connor stoll, but this was different. clarisse was the fifth person today who had asked you if you were dating percy.
“so you are dating him?” clarisse looks offended, or well, as offended as clarisse can be, “and you didn’t tell me.”
you can feel eyes on you, watching your every move as other campers subtly pause their activities to listen in.
“clarisse,” you say slowly, reaching out to hold her forearms and looking her in the eye, “i’m not dating percy.” when she opens her mouth to interrupt, you add, “and i would definitely tell you if i was.”
clarisse exhales, shooting you a disbelieving look, but mercifully leaving you alone with a quiet, “okay.”
you know what she’s thinking, so you offer her a taut smile, patting her on her shoulder as you brush past her. you headed toward the lake, with a feeling that you’d find the answers you were searching for.
the lake is empty except for one solitary figure on the sand, facing the horizon with his hands in his pockets. you hang back for a minute or two, taking in the sight of percy with his eyes closed, and the peaceful look on his face.
a grin settled across his face as he addressed you, his eyes still closed, “i know you think i’m pretty, you don’t have to stare to prove it.”
you ignored his words, and he opened his eyes to watch you angrily march across the sand to stand face to face with him.
“are you the reason why everyone thinks we’re seeing each other?”
“yeah, why?”
to say that you’re taken aback is an understatement — you had anticipated some more denial but this was unexpected. and sudden.
you jab a finger at his chest, “everyone’s getting the wrong idea, so you need to stop whatever it is you’re doing like right now.”
“but they could have the right idea,” percy says, looking amused.
your heart scrapes painfully against your chest, “what the fuck are you talking about?”
“we could be dating, forreal,” percy says, excruciatingly slow, elongating each word.
the earth stops spinning on its axis for a minute, and time seems to freeze — for a split second you worry kronos has risen again before you calm your racing heartbeat and exhale slowly.
“i need you to be so forreal right now,” you say, your eyebrows furrowing.
“i’m being so deadass right now.”
“no, you’re not,” you say, turning and walking away. your heart squeezes pitifully in your chest, as you call out, “find me when you stop joking,” before leaving him alone on the shore.
when percy approaches you again, you think he’s finally come back to his senses, though a weaker, more primitive urge inside you hopes that he hasn’t (it’s for the better, you try and fail to convince yourself).
he interrupts your conversation with drew (though the two of you weren’t doing much talking), smiling charmingly at her before asking if he could steal you away for a minute during breakfast. drew shot you a concerned look, waiting for your reassuring smile before assenting.
“you’ve come to your senses?” you ask after percy leads you away from the mess hall.
“i’ve always had my senses, thank you very much,” percy grins.
you roll your eyes, trying not to smile, “oh yeah, i could totally tell when you played rock, paper, scissors with a hundred-handed one last summer.”
“hey,” percy says, throwing his hands up in the air defensively, “i won that one.”
“on a gamble,” you countered, smiling (you missed this, missed him, and the feeling that everything will be alright enduring).
“not the point.”
“then what is?”
“go out with me,” he repeats, sudden, and earnest.
your heart stuttered pitifully. “not this again,” you sighed.
“why not?”
“why?”
“you know why,” percy tries to make eye contact with you. still, you avoid his gaze, watching the other campers heading into the mess hall give the two of you weird looks.
“no, i don’t,” you say firmly, before walking away, ignoring his protests, leaving behind a group of onlookers that you could care less about, and percy, who was staring at the spot you had just been standing in.
you returned to your cabin, to the familiar jasmine scent and pearl adornments, and promptly collapsed on your bed. more than anything, you just wanted your mother. you wanted your mother to smooth out your hair as you cried, offer you advice, and get rid of the stupid curse.
the door opens quietly and you immediately sit up, dabbing at your face and hoping that your eyes haven’t turned red and swollen already. drew shut the door gently behind her, her expression softening the slightest fraction at the sight of you.
“do i look that bad?” you ask, trying not to sniffle (and failing miserably).
a whirlwind of emotions cross drew’s face and you manage a watery grin. “okay, y’know what, don’t tell me then.”
drew sits next to you on the bed, handing you a box of tissues, “wasn’t planning to.”
the two of you sit shoulder to shoulder as she lets you have a minute to clean up before going straight for the jugular. “i heard what happened.”
you laughed, a choking noise that dissolved into weak coughing. drew patted your back. “so, the entire camp knows now?”
“no,” she says, before changing her mind, “well, yeah.”
“great,” you groaned, “my life is so over.”
drew tensed, tearing her gaze from the posters of hot people on the wall, to look at you, her brown eyes ablaze with fury and her silver earrings (also a gift from silena) jangle, “shut up, you’re the senior counselor of aphrodite cabin, and they’re all losers unworthy of your time. your life so isn’t over.”
(this is the drew from before, the drew that comes and goes in flashes so sudden that you try to piece her together like a puzzle that never seems to connect.)
“the curse,” you say, your throat tight.
drew’s eyes widen imperceptibly, her blue eyeshadow sparkling in the candlelit cabin, before her expression settles into a scowl. “what about the gift?” her voice sharpens as she stresses the last word, sparing the smallest glance toward the roof of the cabin.
you can’t continue, and you don’t have to — she knows what it is that you’re thinking of (she always has, from the minute you met her, two cold and shaking children alone in the dark).
she shakes her head emphatically. “silena,” her voice chokes, before dropping to a whisper, “silena left us — you can’t leave us too.”
“i know,” you whisper back, your eyes filling with tears. “i know.”
“oh, honey,” drew says sympathetically, drawing you into her arms, and smoothing your hair away from your face as you let out a sob against her shoulder. “break his heart,” she says.
“i can’t,” you mumble.
“you have to. he’ll die if you don’t, and a broken heart is better than dying.”
“i can’t do that to him, he’s so unbelievably good, drew, he deserves everything and more.”
“ignoring how ridiculously sappy that sounded, look at what happened to beckendorf,” you pretend not to notice how drew stumbles through his name (he looked at silena as if she had personally hung the stars in the night sky), “maybe he wouldn’t have gotten over it, but he would’ve been alive.”
you remember how silena had proudly said she was going to put an end to the archaic rite of passage your cabin was infamous for around camp; beautiful, idealistic silena with stars in her eyes (who liked beckendorf to the point she’d blush profusely at the mention of his name), who had no idea that this would all come crashing down around her some short months later.
at your silence, drew continues, still stroking your hair, “look, not to make this harder, but even i’ll admit jackson’s one of those guys you meet once in a lifetime—”
“thanks, drew, that was really helpful,” you interrupt, chuckling dryly.
“oh, shut up, i had a point,” drew says, swatting your shoulder playfully.
you sigh, letting her continue.
“so, like i was saying before i was so rudely interrupted, because jackson’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime type of guys—” here, you coughed pointedly, making drew glare at you before continuing, “—you should be like more willing to see him happy and like living a long ass life because you’re so in love with him.”
“so what, either i reject him and ruin our friendship irreversibly or we date and i break his heart and ruin our friendship irreversibly, or we date and i don’t break his heart and he dies tragically and there’s a possibility that i die tragically too?”
drew shrugged, making a tiny braid in your hair, “pretty much.”
you turned your head in her lap to look her in the eye, “how are you so apathetic about this?”
“someone has to be because you’re not thinking this through rationally.”
you groaned, “aphrodite has to hate us.” (you haven’t called her ‘mom’ genuinely except to her face during the winter solstices.)
“no, she lives for this kind of thing,” drew rolled her eyes, braiding another piece of your hair, “she definitely thinks she’s doing us a favor.”
you groaned again, “what if i just avoid him until summer ends and he goes back to school and forgets this happened.”
“i didn’t think love made you this stupid,” drew says, amused.
“shut up, i can’t wait until you have the same dilemma, and you’re the one asking for advice.”
“doubt it,” drew says, wryly.
you rolled your eyes, “okay, but what if i tell him about the ‘gift’,” you make air-quotes, “and let him decide?”
“yeah, but what if that just makes it backfire and makes you die tragically either way.”
“well, at least he’ll know about the possibility? it’s better than just being like ‘oh i can’t date you even though i’ve liked you since i was twelve’ with like zero explanation whatsoever.”
you hear muffled footsteps coming from outside of the cabin, and the door swings open loudly to admit lacy, who looks flustered and out of breath. you and drew quickly sprang up off your bed at her arrival.
“your boyfriend’s asking for you,” she says, looking at you.
drew raises her eyebrows at you, an unspoken are you going to see him? behind it.
you furrowed your eyebrows back at her, conveying no, shut up.
drew shrugged at you as if saying if you say so.
lacy looks between the two of you, confusion apparent before cautiously interrupting, “he’s waiting outside, by the way.”
you panicked at the thought of possibly confronting percy, “lacy, whatever you do, don’t tell him i’m in here.” you paused, “wait, tell him i’m taking a nap or something, please.”
more shuffling noises can be heard from outside, and drew groans, smacking her forehead with her palm, “what is wrong with you?”
you ignored her, focusing on lacy, whose confusion intensified as she looked between the two of you. “tell him i’m sleeping and he should try coming back later.”
she nodded, before opening the door and stepping outside.
drew stared at you, “y’know, i thought people were exaggerating when they said love makes you stupid but after looking at you, they were so right.”
you scowled at drew. she raised her arms in surrender, “just calling it like i see it.”
lacy returned a second later, “um, he wasn’t outside when i went to tell him.”
that was decidedly odd, but you chalked it up to him being busy or something, and shrugged, “i’ll see him later, it’s fine.”
it was actually not fine, because you didn’t see him later. or the next day. or the day after. well, you saw him but you didn’t see him. percy had somehow uncovered a hidden talent for making himself appear everywhere and nowhere all at once. he was there at meals, laughing with tyson or grover, he was at sword fighting practices, leading the class or giving clarisse a partner, he was at campfires, sitting next to annabeth and connor. yet, the minute you tried to approach him, it was almost as if he’d vanish, like an immortal was running interference.
you’ve taken to wandering by the lake on most nights — your only company the voices of silena (go talk to him, her urging is as present as if she was really there, memories of the time the two of you hadn’t been talking for a week resurging) and luke (what’re you doing out this late, kid? a phantom hand reaching out to ruffle your hair, and the feeling of ice being poured down your back envelops you).
as the sun sets, the tall and lanky figure — a figure you could recognize on the darkest nights — stands overlooking the lake in true jay gatsby fashion, his hands dug deep into the pockets of his baggy jeans. you stop and stare for a second (maybe a minute, an hour, time has truly escaped you), and suddenly you’re small and shivering in the dark again.
percy doesn’t look at you when you approach, though he fidgets with his camp necklace.
“hi,” you say, unsure of where to begin.
percy sighs, “look, if you’re here to ask for space, i get it, i didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable the other day.” he doesn’t turn to look at you or even glance at you through the corner of his eye once.
“what?” you ask. “what are you talking about?”
“trust me, i get it, you don’t have to try to spare my feelings,” percy says. you want to will him to spare you just a glance. still, he avoids your gaze, focused on the horizon before you. “we’ve been friends for so long, i thought you could be honest with me.”
his words, though not said harshly (percy isn’t capable of being harsh, not to you at least) cut through you like a knife.
“you heard me when i was talking to lacy, then,” you say, with horror as the realization dawns on you slowly.
percy finally looks at you, and the sheer hurt in his iridescent eyes makes you inhale sharply. a lump forms in your throat.
“i did,” he confirms quietly. “why didn’t you say something earlier?”
fighting in a war hadn’t prepared you for man’s greatest folly, something that you, arguably, should’ve been good at. the lump in your throat is difficult to dislodge, yet percy is patient as you swallow uncomfortably.
“i never meant it like that.”
percy’s eyes flash, and you feel sick to your stomach. “have you ever wondered why so many of the other cabins hate us?”
his previously pained expression morphed into a look of confusion. you continued, “in aphrodite cabin, our rite of passage is to break your first love’s heart. silena—” your voice breaks. “—silena tried to put an end to it, and then both she and beckendorf—” you choke up again, and percy’s expression becomes solemn, “died tragically. we didn’t know the consequences of not doing it were real until then, and we realized it was a curse.”
you watch percy seemingly wrestle with his thoughts, taking a step toward you.
“why didn’t you tell me this earlier?” there is no judgment in his voice, yet you still feel embarrassment pooling in your stomach.
“can you honestly tell me that you’re okay with this? with the gods dictating another aspect of your life?” (somewhere in the back of your mind, you can hear luke’s voice repeating the same sentence.)
“you didn’t ask for this either.”
“it’s not our job to question them,” you say, trying not to let a tear slip.
“maybe we should,” percy says, still looking straight at you.
“careful,” you say, as thunder rumbled distantly overhead, “this is what luke was saying.”
“i don’t care,” percy says, “if you or i die a tragic death, we’ll just have to go through tartarus.”
he said it so simply, so matter-of-factly that your breath catches in your throat.
“so, you’re okay with this?” you ask, trying to suppress the tinge of hopefulness in your voice.
percy looked at you in disbelief, his face was so earnest, “why wouldn’t i be?”
you laughed, more out of shock than anything else. percy continued, “i think your mother would think we’d make a cute couple, so maybe she won’t curse us with a tragic end.”
you’re grinning now, tears forgotten, “more like she’ll give us a tragic end because she likes us.”
percy shrugged, “i think we’ll be fine as long as we’re together.”
he kissed you, finally, which was long over-due, and you felt like everything was finally falling into place.
“took you guys long enough.”
you turned around to find the source of the interruption, making eye-contact with clarisse, her arms folded and a smug expression on her face. beside her stands most of your friends, all adorning matching wicked expressions. your heart stops beating for a second before your cheeks flush with embarrassment.
“how much of that did you guys hear?” percy asked, suddenly looking bashful.
“most of it,” drew replied with a smirk.
percy looked at you, a mixture of embarrassment and amusement on his face as your friends surrounded the both of you, hoisting you on their shoulders.
“maybe the two of you need to cool off,” annabeth said with a laugh.
connor grinned at her, before calling out, “dump them in the lake!”
you groaned, begging, “annabeth, please.”
“this is payback for all the pining i had to witness over the years,” she said with a laugh.
percy shrugged at you, a grin on his face as if saying accept your fate. you gave in, shaking your head as you laughed at their antics.
