I absolutely admire the genius move by JRRT to leave people to wonder if the cursed blade Gurthang really had consciousness or it was just the unlucky Turin pushed to his limits, on the verge of suicide, hallucinating the voice of his sword, telling him that it wants his blood to make up for Beleg’s and Brandir’s, iniquitously spilled by him.
There’s this idea in my head about the Dagor Dagorath, that a reforged Gurthang is what leads a revived and reluctant Turin into battle: a vengeful bloodthirsty blade that got shattered once by feisting over his owner’s iniquous blood, and now wants to take revenge on Melkor, the most evil one, for the curse he put on Hurin and his children.
I would love that choice!
Kinda like Smeagol and Gollum?

Behold Thingol’s throne.
This is meant to be a Gondorian mural from the early fourth age in reference to the lore of the first age, so the symbolism is in reference to that. This mural was requested by my husband due to the toilet here being ridiculously tall and hence we call it ‘Thingol’s throne’

A new dawn
"Now rumour came to the camp in Hithlum of the march of Fingolfin and those that followed him, who had crossed the Grinding Ice; and all the world lay then in wonder at the coming of the Moon. But as the host of Fingolfin marched into Mithrim the Sun rose flaming in the West; and Fingolfin unfurled his blue and silver banners, and blew his horns, and flowers sprang beneath his marching feet, and the ages of the stars were ended."

Gil-galad and his sister Finduilas
The orcs pinning Finduilas (Gil-galad's sister) to a tree with a spear. Later Gil-galad pinning orcs with a his spear Aeglos. Symbolic revenge and why Gil-galad chose to fight with a spear. I wanted to draw art about this headcanon
HAPPY 17776/IMMORTALITY DAY!!
Happy April 7th, 2026! And most of all, thank you to Jon Bois for crafting this beautiful story and picking the most random date known to human kind. 17776/20020 genuinely changed my life and taught me to appreciate life more than ever, and thanks for getting me into astronomy again, I appreciate it. YES I crammed this illustration but I am proud of it!
On April 7th 2026, people stopped being born. On the same day, people stopped dying, and people stopped aging.
knowing Finrod, he would love talking with the hobbits and want to know all about their genealogies and culture. he and Bilbo would absolutely be best friends!
