Rape is a horrible crime and Western rapists very much exist, yet the fact that it happens exponentially more in Islamic nations, the fact that sex crimes are peaking in the West alongside immigration peaks from Islamic cultures, and the fact that stoning is not comparable AT ALL to rape, even less when you admit stoning is a LEGAL TOOL OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN MANY MUSLIM NATIONS, kinda makes that argument backfire on the OP.

But it’s funny how she holds universities etc up as some sort of example that Islam is enlightened or aimed towards academia, when the truth is the opposite. Islam is one of the most stubborn factors in the world today, many colleges in Islamic nations are geared towards religion and ‘the past’, Islam desperately and violently clings on to it’s thousand year old traditions and flat out refuses to grow along with the rest of the civilized world, which is exactly why many Muslim nations aren’t even a part of the civilized, modern world. Yes, in Islam things were invented that benefited the world greatly. But there’s no point in holding on that that idea today to be honest, because it simply isn’t the Islam of today anymore.

I can scarcely take any defence of Islam that starts off with “Well, other people rape too..” serious, tbh. It almost sounds like they’re deliberately trying to make it look bad, or they just know they’ve got no leg to stand on and see their only argument as asserting Sharia is only as bad as the worst of other cultures. Can you set the bar even lower for yourself?
