And what if Moon admires him… from a distance…. ( @dsn-001 )
What particularly does she admire about him?
Is it the dings and scrapes across his crimson armor? The imperfections brought on by the hardest of work. Or perhaps the kindness of a giant to let stickers cover some of them? Love shown in wear and tear just as much as the allowance to decorate them.
Maybe it's his sharp and dangerous design, made a testament to how the choice of gentleness is always an option. His active decision not to divert his power against others and be mindful of what he is capable of. His design grew mindfulness within him.
What if it's his curiosity? A fearlessness to explore despite his stature. Would it not be easier to abstain? He doesn't let it stop him. Wonder and whimsy nestled within him.
Whatever it was, Horn gave an excited wave to Moon from the rubble of an old building he just brought down. New dings and scrapes adorned his armor. Dust clung to the black fabric in between his segments. And his smile, so wide and sharp, made softer by the crescent shape his eyes took when he saw her.
And isn't it easy to say she admires all of that and more? The imperfections that adorn him are precious, a testament to the kind of labor her hands were never meant to touch. Stickers, when peeled away, leave a residue her armor was not meant to carry, but the imprint of them on Horn's scratches and dents, faded from sun and rain, are to her like a tiny handprint, left in wet cement with intent. His sharpness bears weight, his entire build does, and for all that one might see as destructive in his design, she cannot help but see deliberation and diligence instead. Nothing was meant to last forever. His work is done so that others can stay safe, free from the wear and tear that he willingly brings unto himself. And in his curiosity and fearlessness maybe, just maybe, she can find her own seed of courage, too, and let his desire to explore carry her with the assurance that she'd also be kept safe by him.
...Yes, that's it. It's everything about him that she is not that she admires, and just like how the moon reflects the sun, maybe she can take on a little bit of his light when she stays by his side. Maybe she can be a little braver, too.
He looks at her, and waves, and smiles, and she feels warmth blossom on her face when she smiles and waves back.
Let’s play a drinking game!
For every 🥃 my muse gets– they have to either answer a personal fact about themselves…. Or take a shot!
For those who like to play a more daring version, they have to take a shot AND choose a victim to pass the drink onto (via tagging)!
how is bass a hunter? A high ranking hunter???
"A question better suited to him or Commander Signas than myself. It's not my story to share. He gets the job done, he's just..."
"...Very eccentric. Then again, everyone in the Hunters is, to some extent."
Why are you asking to get punched, dude....?
ok between ghost and bass who do you THINK could win
"How persistent of you. Well -- both of them have the potential to win. I'm not foolish enough to discount Bass' capabilities, and Ghost is resourceful. There's a lot of factors that could tip the scale one way or another."
Oh have a little fun! Pretend!
"I'm not placing bets on who would win between a rogue vigilante and a wild Hunter?????????"
Money on the like. Bass or Ghost
"Betting on fights is illegal. I'd rather the situation defuse on its own as a whole, not participate in it."
"I..... see" Based on how exasperated she sounds, that certainly... bodes? "...so basically you're saying he's always like this?" Bold enough to steal her mark means brash enough to get into a real fight here. "Should we... y'know.... stop him?"
"No." This is a strangely familiar scenario. Almost as if, in a past life, these two once went head to head before. "They'll sort it out. And if they don't, he'll come waltzing around again more or less intact -- sooner or later."
"...so.... you happen to know either of today's entertainment?"
"Unfortunately." Both, actually. But he doesn't need to know that. "The red one's... an acquaintance. He took my target a while ago -- that's how we met."
"......"
kicking down the door. in the coming days (tm) i will be reviewing rules/directories here, as well as probably making a separate page for both moonfall and eclipse. tumblr's theme layouts are kind of sucky so they'll be on google docs for the sake of my sanity! furthermore, and more importantly:
the rest of the songbots are officially added to the roster. yahoo!
"Ah... well."
She clears her throat. Aside from plotting out the scolding Kintsugi knew was on the way, and would ultimately wriggle his way out of?
"I don't... think loitering around out here will do us any good." She murmured, straightening her shoulders by a smidge. An apology for her brother's actions was on the tip of her tongue, but she swallowed it down. It was a bit late for that, and it seems this was a well-coordinated effort. "We may as well go and... keep ourselves occupied, I suppose. Get to know each other."
That felt awkward to say, even more so when she the leg she attempted to move decided to scuff at the ground instead. Great. Really living up to being the oldest of your line.
"Are you... familiar with the area at all?"
"Occupied... right." A tall order for their siblings to evidently leave them with on their own -- Nova, especially. One moment he'd announced that there was someone Moon would do well to meet, and the next she'd been left with nothing but an equally frazzled stranger in front of her and her skirt fluttering with the sweep of Nova's retreating tail. How strange! Unheard of, even.
Left with nothing else to do, Moon scrunched her face in thought, turning around this way and that as she scanned the area. "I do," she said slowly. "Um. I-I'm not quite sure what you'd like to do, but there's a robotics museum down this way," she turned in the other direction, "and over here is the shopping district. There's.. lots of boutiques, and some antiques. I've even seen an old music store. Um.. a little further down there's a number of bakeries with good pastries, and teas."
Sheepishly, she turned to Jazz. Surely one of those would be a decent place to go for starters? "I-It's up to you where we go. I... don't really mind either way."

Ghost made it a point to tidy up the little hideout he had made up for himself. It was far from grand, just an abandoned labratory study outpost with some small living quarters inside, one of which Ghost had taken up residence in. It wasn't much, and it was barely livable for a human after nature had reclaimed parts of it, but it worked out for one solitary robot master in hiding.
Right now, he was waiting for Moonfall to show up, sat at his desk and keeping his hands busy with his new project so he didn't spiral again. It had been a few hours since he sent her a message requesting she come by, sharing his coordinates so she knew where to go. It was at a late hour, but she had already confirmed that she would be there at the requested time. He had thought about meeting her somewhere else in the city to get himself out of his little hideout (and keeping it the secret that he wanted it to be)--but given the subject matter, he would prefer the privacy.
He felt...anxious. His nerves were wound tight like a stretched spring that could snap at any moment. There was a chance that this could go terribly wrong. It was rare for the prototype to put his trust in someone, let alone someone he hadn't known for a LONG time. He still wanted to believe he could trust her...but there was always the chance that such trust could be misplaced, and backfire right in his face. Right now though, he was desperate enough to take that risk.
Hopefully, he wouldn't come to regret this.
To say that Moonfall had expected the ping was a severe overstatement. From anyone, especially from a wayward machine like Ghost, such a plea to talk was nothing less than a surprise for someone like her. She'd almost questioned him. Almost pried, almost listened to her training that screamed that this was a trap, and that no decent Maverick Hunter would ever investigate a lone coordinate on no communication and no further justification than 'I need to talk'.
...But Ghost was no Maverick. And Moonfall... well. Perhaps her sentiments still guided her more strongly than she'd admit, memories of a similarly red-clad prototype pinging her in much the same manner all those decades ago.
So, late at night, she made her way to the coordinates on foot so her warp data wouldn't be left on the terminals, dressed down as to not draw attention. It was a foolish, risky thing to do, entering an unknown area without armor, but as a gesture of trust, good will, and secrecy, what else was she to do?
Ghost hadn't requested the aid of a Maverick Hunter.
Finally reaching the abandoned lab, Moonfall cautiously crept in, knocking on the door only barely left ajar for her to slip through. "Ghost...?"

The early morning air is fresh and quiet, naught but the sun steadily creeping higher up the cloudless sky and birds waking from their slumber. It's a quaint little spot: a small rooftop cafe adorned with fairy lights and flower beds, nestled among the taller buildings of Abel City with a decent view out to the horizon to boot. At this hour, few would bother to make such a trek, but to Moonfall, it's more than worth it. A little bubble tucked away from the rest of the world. She sits with a cup of tea and a plate of untouched pastries, idly watching the few reploids and humans mingle in the streets below when the door to the rooftop opens. She turns, greeting Aria with a small smile.
"Thanks for coming by. How've you been, with..." a vague gesture at nothing, "...everything?"

Silence pervades following the departure of their brothers, stretching out into borderline discomfort. It's not that Moon wants the silence, but that in the absence of Nova, she finds the absence of anything even remotely appropriate to break the ice a second time. It would seem, judging from the way that Jazz stands awkwardly across from her, that she is feeling much the same.
"...So..." Excellent start. "...Um. What n-now...?"
i need to get things properly going here, so like this post for some plotting! easy threads, asks, anything is on the table for any verses available, just have something in mind when i poke you!
