Yeah, so, details about the adoption were kept intentionally vague because Jonny's cagey about sharing details about minors in his care., but you can read what still exists of that saga in the askanarky tag on Jonny's blog, and I answered explicitly about the adoption here.

As for Jon and Eddie...

They're just friends.

At least, the blog versions are just friends. Eddie, over at RiddlesAndQueries, is played by my beautiful spouse - an oversized Mimikyu given a human poncho to wear.

And we've been having a lot of fun exploring the relationship of this particular version of Jon and Eddie as just friends, because here's the thing,

Between the two of us, I usually write the Riddler.

Between the two of us, they usually write the Scarecrow.

And I think they're doing a fantastic job with their interpretation of Edward.

But he's a bit too young for the old man Jonathan that I'm writing, who's really just not interested in anyone under the age of like 41, and just isn't Jonathan's type in any regard. They're friends. They're the kind of friends who know exactly what they can get away with before they've crossed a line and risk a bullet in the head, who have seen one another at their absolute worst and know how to negotiate each other's temper flare ups and are in many circumstances each other's emergency contacts.

Jonathan's probably Edward's Primary Care doctor in a pinch, too - he does that for a lot of Rogues. Not Psychiatry, but medical care.

There's a lot of trust and good faith and respect built up, and both men have very high regard and esteem for one another, built up over years of repeated proof through action that the other deserves it.

But they're just friends. And at least over here on tumblr, that's all they're ever going to be. Sorry, shippers.

We write a bunch of AUs where that's not the case, but not here, not now, and not under these circumstances. They're just not into each other.

About the Mockridge situation, did it actually take you 2 years to set the maze with traps and build the Minotaur? Did you build the Minotaur yourself or did you have other people do it for you?

As you can tell, I have a LOT of questions regarding this singular incident but that will probably take forever

The statute of limitations is well and truly over, so I suppose I’m not opposed to a peek behind the curtain:

I didn’t build it directly: the entire structure was part of Mockridge’s merchandising efforts. I did, however, moonlight as one of the repairmen for quality control, and had ample opportunity to add some personal flair to the mechanisms. That gryphon doesn’t usually breathe fire, but with a simple strike of a button, hard mode is unlocked.

Ask more, by all means: I have ample time.

What sort of short time are you looking at in this instance? Parole or something of your own design?

I’ve never been one to give up on my problems, but who am I to argue when the judge hands down an acquittal?

Do you believe in aliens?

I can see that my colleagues have covered the dry humor response of reality as we know it, so pardon my indulgence in the sentimental.

I have always believed in such a thing, ever since I was a boy. What universe as broad, compelling, and sublime as ours could only cultivate life on one planet entirely out of coincidence and the benevolence of the divine? I may be accused of arrogance, but even I find that staggeringly self-centered as a concept.

No, the world as we know it is much grander than our immediate arm’s reach. It’s nice to have proof, of course, but that shouldn’t be the price of losing our curiosity for finding more.

Do I believe in aliens? Absolutely, no scientifically-minded soul wouldn’t.

I look forward to meeting some that aren’t going to send me to prison.

Are you allowed to have visitors in Arkham? How are you holding up?

Normally I’d say something glib about how Professor Crane is a regular in the revolving door, but this time is a deviation in the cycle, and I don’t like what looks to be adding up.

Those injuries and an incarceration are not the kind of response that a "traffic stop altercation" results in with Crane: he's not the type to fight when he can charm his way out of a situation by playing up some Southern hokum.

As for visitor's hours, those depend on what level of treatment you're receiving. The criminal elements, such as myself, rarely get people coming by to send well-wishes. Usually, it's someone trying to re-enact some aspect of Silence of the Lambs and scrape some information from an "unconventional" source. Funny how we're only trusted as insightful when we're restrained.

My time here, however, is running short.
