âAre you nervous?â Emma Stone asks sweetly when she notices the anxious look on your face. You were currently waiting to walk the carpet along with the other Louis Vuitton guests. You had met them all earlier in the day for pictures but didnât really get a chance to talk.
âA little,â you admit, letting out the breath you didnât even know you were holding. You were fiddling with your rings, one was your Dream ring and the other was 1/2 of the Doyoung/Taeyong friendship ring. Doyoung had let you borrow his while Taeyong lent his to Johnny. You didnât yet know what Johnny was wearing, but you knew your rings matched.
âDonât be, itâs no big deal. Just some walking and pictures, nothing we havenât done before, right?â She asks with a pretty smile. âJust some pictures and walkingâ was a severe understatement considering the event, but this isnât her first time so you hope sheâs talking from experience.
âGood luck, Iâll find you later during the after party,â she waves goodbye as she moves on. Hoyeon unnie comes next, wrapping her arms around your shoulders as you both try to peek over all the shoulders. She had reached out a few weeks ago when she found out youâd both be walking for LV and youâd quickly become close friends.
âWho wouldâve thought weâd end up here,â she hums nostalgically, trapping you both in a moment of peace before the craziness started.
âYou should be very proud of yourself, Lily. It wasnât easy for either of us, but now weâre here proving everyone wrong, arenât we?â She chuckles. Even though youâd only met a few weeks ago, Hoyeon found it hard to dislike you in any way. She hadnât expected to become this close, but here you were.
âI guess we are,â you canât help but smile. Being here tonight was like a huge middle finger to all the people that doubted you.
âLouis Vuitton, youâre next!â A staff member announces. And just like that, Hoyeon is whisked away for final checks and someone comes over to fluff your dress and check your makeup. Then, youâre led out.
âDonât forget to smile,â Hoyeon gives your hand a quick squeeze before she goes out first, and you follow after her only seconds later. The bright lights momentarily startle you but you get the hang of it soon enough.
Johnny had already walked the carpet. He had done it. He had met the designer, finalized his outfit, met the other celebs Peter Do was dressing, he anxiously waited, walked, and made it all the way up. The nerves had long subsided but he knew Lilyâs hadnât yet.
So, once he got to the top he insisted on staying there. He wanted to wait for Lily and ask how she slept since he hadnât seen her since yesterday morning and see her in her dress she wouldnât tell him anything about and make sure she ate because sometimes she didnât when she got scared andâŚand he wanted to see her. He felt nervous for her, which wasnât an uncommon feeling, he often found himself worrying about Lily.
He was stuck beside Kris Jenner who was also waiting for her daughters, all of whom were invited tonight.
It didnât take long for Louis Vuitton to come out. Lily was easy to find, in a pretty yellow dress that stuck out with its vibrance. She didnât tell anyone a single thing about the dress, claiming it was too pretty to spoil with an excited sparkle in her eye. She had covered her ears and shushed Johnny when he tried talking about his own outfit because she wanted it to be a surprise. It was obvious how much Lily loved her outfit for the night, she raved about it as much as she could without spoiling anything. She had actually gone on a tangent about the pockets it supposedly had. Johnny didnât particularly care, but he sat and listened nonetheless. He had told her the only thing pretty about the dress was the girl in it, but she merely shushed him and told him to wait and see.
âAre you two together?â Kris asks Johnny, noticing how intently Johnny watched Lily. Johnny found himself holding his breath when she first came out, looking a little nervous and surprised at all the lights. She awkwardly bowed toward the first group of photographers only for a staff member to jog over and say something to her, presumably that she didnât have to bow, but she continued to do so, albeit more comfortably. Luckily she didnât fall, she was crazy nervous sheâd fall and embarrass herself. It took a minute or two, but Lily quickly settled in and posed for the cameras comfortably.
âYeahâŚnot together together but we came together, if that even makes sense,â Johnny chuckles, quickly correcting himself once he realizes what Kris was insinuating.
âWeâre in the same group so weâre pretty close. I feel like a dad watching his daughter take her first steps or something,â Johnny admits.
âOh I get that, Iâm waiting for 5 daughters tonight,â Kris sympathizes.
As Lily continues on, nearing the top, she looks up at him, finally noticing Johnny waiting. She perks up and waves excitedly, forgetting about the cameras momentarily as she spins to show him her dress in its entirety. From the outside looking in, it was a cute scene as Johnny gives her a quick thumbs up and she was called back toward the cameras. But from Johnnyâs point of view, a sight only he saw, she was the epitome of innocence as she spun for him with wide eyes and radiating excitement. He could understand why she loved the dress so much. The bright lights reflected off the sparkles on her dress, she was as light as a feather and it had been a long time since heâs seen her like that. It was a welcome sight. He couldnât believe how much sheâd grown over the years, sometimes nearly forgetting she wasnât 15 anymore.
âGood luck tonight,â Johnny bows politely to Kris as Lily comes up the final few steps.
âYou too,â Kris smiles before turning back as one of her daughters comes out.
âJohnny oppa! I told you the dress was pretty, didnât I tell you?â You grin excitedly, picking up the ends of your dress as you hurriedly make your way towards him.
âThe dress is only pretty because of the girl wearing it, didnât I tell you that earlier?â Johnny quips, ever the flirt who found momentary joy in watching his only female member get flustered.
âSo sappy,â Lily chastises as she reaches out to inspect his own clothes. She pulls the coat a bit to see if his tattoo would peak out without it. It did, if you were curious, only a little though.
âYou look rather dashing too,â she compliments. Johnny refrains from poking fun at how British she just sounded.
âLook at us, weâre a long way from those hideous outfits they made us wear,â Lily laughs as she pokes at his arm. The outfits she wore early in her career is a great point of shame for Lily, she still cringes whenever she thinks about it too deeply.
âThey started styling us better years ago,â Johnny chuckles, throwing an arm around her as they continue on into the building.
âSure they did, but this is our new new era,â Lily clarifies. Inside, theyâre separated once more for dinner. No one actually eats much at the gala, itâs more of an opportunity to mingle with those around you. While Johnny stays near his seat, choosing to mingle with those already around him, Lily is swept up and away and into the crowd.
Johnny occasionally glances around in search of Lily, keeping an eye on her and what not. It was like second nature to him at this point. The last time he saw her, she was talking with a group of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters. She finally escapes to him after that, plopping down beside him with a sigh. Her social meter was definitely running out a bit.
âHaving fun?â Johnny asks amusedly as she tests her head in her hand.
âYes but I think Iâve talked to more strangers today than I have in my entire life,â she deadpans.
âCan you help me take these pins out of my head,â Lily asks, lowering her head so Johnny can take out all the pins and loosen her hair. She loved her hairstyle for the met, it framed her face so perfectly she felt like a fairy, but after a few hours she could feel the headache coming on.
âOh, I like your hair down, you look more relaxed and laidback,â Johnny comments after he finishes fixing her hair. Yes, this new hairstyle only made Lily obsess over her outfit more.
âHave you eaten?â He asks, already holding out a spoonful of whatever they had put on his plate.
âI had some soup this morning. I asked for rice but they said they didnât have any. Can you believe that? How can you run out of rice?â Lily asks incredulously, opening her mouth obediently and eating what he offered.
âWhat was that?â She asks with a slight grimace.
âI have no idea, but itâs better than nothing,â he shrugs, pushing the plate away. He, too, was guilty of neglecting the food.
âAfter this letâs get pizza,â Lily suggests.
âThis is why I love your beautiful mind,â Johnny sighs dramatically as he grabs her head with both of his hands and shakes. She laughs as he does, grinning as he releases her with a quick peck to the top of her head.
âOk, Iâm going back out there,â she giggles, having recharged a bit with a person who brought her comfort
âAnd I think Iâll go out too,â Johnny nods, standing up with her.
âFind me if you need me and keep an eye on your drink, okay?â Johnny reminds her, to which she nods. She holds up her fist to which he bumps dutifully.
